I actually played Iron Man by accident, while I mucking around with a scale. After four notes, I realised it was sounding like iron man, and found the rest of the notes, so I probably play it completely differently to how everyone else does.

And I think with Smoke On The Water, it's just a number of variations of what each person thinks sounds best.

I've never heard the first song, but Iron Man is best played in Power Chords like this:

That's easier to do cleanly on an electric, at least if you're playing it so it sounds like the recording (kinda staccato; eighth note rest between each chord).

wow, that's the first time i've seen it tabbed like that, but that's the most accurate sounding one i've every played.

Ya know how some people say they can play guitar but they can only play smoke on the water on one string? It makes me laugh.

But I play it 0, 3, 5, 0, 3, 6, 5, 0, 3, 5, 3, 0 on the G and D strings. I'm too lazy to tab it out...
