Duzi leapt to his paws, racing after his brother. "Well, You won't win, y'know!" He called out, stretching his gangly legs out. He was still obviously a cub, though, and though his legs had grown, he still had trouble using them properly.
The sound of thunder rumbled ominously after the two young leopons, and momentarily, Duzi turned to give the stormhead one last glance. It was starting to roll in a little quicker now, and the cub was sure that if he strained his ears, he would be able to hear the spatter of thick raindrops hitting the earth.
He lengthened his stride even more. "Go, go, go!" He urged his brother. He didn't want to turn up at home sopping wet, and he was sure Jahazi didn't fancy that either.

Jahazi raced with his brother, also stumbling about on his long legs. He was unusually graceful when he ran though he was clumsy with most everything else, including words.
He grinned over at his brother, running as fast as he could now. He looked up at the sky, the dark clouds rolling over them now. Another huge boom of thunder struck the land, and they could hear their mother calling them back now. They were close, and when they reached the den the rain started, barely soaking their tails as they entered.
Jahazin grinned and leaped in joy, "We made it! We beat the storm!" He said laughing and jumping on his brother. When another boom of thunder struck the land, followed by lightning that lite up the sky, Jahazi squeaked and ran under his mothers legs.

"That's what you say," Duzi muttered, faking a sulk as he lifted the end of his dripping tail. He shook his head with a small frown. Stupid rain.
At the sound of thunder behind him, and the lightning that illuminated the den, Duzi leapt to his feet and, despite his attempts to act as if he had expected it, scrambled after his brother.
"Oh... nevermind..." He backed himself away from Jahazi and their mother and settled his rump down, curling his tail around him. "S'just a storm."
Then his eyes fell onto nothing in particular on the ground, and his mind drifted off again. What a story this would be to tell. If only he told stories. Oh well, he mused, perhaps in his imagination.
