Anna Mnemi ...I just realised... I have an exam in between the two episodes. If I mess up because I'm scared, I am blaming Moffett. I will hunt him down for it. I have, like, 6 between those eps.
I f***ing love Moffat's work, his Doctor Who episodes and Jekyll. So I can't wait. (:
EDIT: Maybe 'f***ing' isn't the right word, considering the dispute going on in this thread. Sorry. Be nice.:'D

Richard_Swift seffy_chan Please don't be rude to one another. Also: Please.. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read the rules. crying Um...the issue here is that we have read the rules, and what's being enforced here that doesn't seem to be one of them. It's obviously utterly up to you guys if you want to make "Mind your language" one of your rules, but while it isn't one then its all a bit Kafka-esque to berate people for not following it. Happily though, I can't see anyone being rude to each other. All's friendly. smile Just a point of protocol rather than anything personal. Well you've started a debate between the mods now xp whether you meant to or not. So we're gonna have this issue sorted out in a bit or at least be clearer on whether swearing falls into the 'being rude to one another' category. (And just to be a little pedantic, no-one got 'berated' really, I think that's a little harsh, tennantsbutterfly only gave a nudge and some asterisks'...) And really, really sorry to McPhallus for this issue flooding your thread like it has!

Travis III Hmm, the trailer for next episode doesn't look particularly good, but since it's Moffatt that's writing it, I'm confident it will be excellent. I agree, I wasn't entirely convinced by the silence in the library trailer, but its Moffat after all, therefore it'll be awsome by definition 3nodding

The main point I tried to bring up is that there is no rule about language. I never intend to put one in place. Frankly its a fascist thing to do, to forbid any part of language. It Should be a Non-issue. Don't make mountains out of mole hills.

Well, I can tolerate a little language OK...but like all things I think it should be in moderation. Just filling your posts with filth is annoying to the reader and makes you look rather unintelligent. Words like that are so overused they are becoming meaningless, so doing a lot of it just fills your whole post with meaninglessness. It's actually a lazy, easy way to talk or write, instead of coming up with words that accurately express your meaning or feelings.

It Should be a Non-issue. Don't make mountains out of mole hills. I agree and approve, and am happy for the clarification. Hope you don't think I was in the mountain-building business, as it can't be a non-issue to have mods enforcing rules that don't exist. Anyway, it's a happy ending for everyone, now we're all on the same page. Let friendliness, joy and anticipation of-creepy-Moffat-goodness ring throughout the thread! See you all on the weekend to talk about it. smile

The disembodied library-person head saying, "Run. For godsake, run." is what freaks me out! But this next episode is going to be AWESOME.
My two cents on the swearing: I prefer not to read it because sometimes I find it offensive even if that wasn't the person's intention, so I have my account set to censor them out automatically. But does that sometimes not work in guild posts if people are using fancy text? Is that why it was necessary to edit it by hand? Anyway, I'm happy it was edited for this community. sweatdrop

Having seen the listings I'm now dreading saturday...on one level at least.
For the first time Who is on in the same timeslot as Britain's Got Talent, and it's their final. We're going to be slaughtered. crying
NewWho's never had to endure a ratings masacre before. Just watch all the tabloids with an anti-BBC agenda (the Mail being the lead villain here) try to spin this as being a sign of "DOCTOR WHO IN CRISIS AS NEW HEAD WRITER'S EPISODE BRINGS IN LOWEST VIEWING FIGURES EVER!!!" sweatdrop

It's times like this I wish I had some recording facility. I'd Do Anything finale, Doctor Who, AND Britain's Got Talent??? I'll probably end up watching the first bit of IDA, then Doctor Who and the second bit of BGT. HOW CONFUSING.
I'm loving how EVERYONE calls Moffat the best writer. The Mail on Sunday TV Guide: "the show's best writer Steven Moffat..." xD but every TV listing or whatever that I've seen has mentioned Empty Child in some way shape or form... I'm starting to wonder if that and the other references this season are some kind of Clue...

I hope not. The Empty Child scared me so damn much. I keep as far away from it as possible.

My fears were well founded. sad
Silence in the Library not only got the lowest ever viewing figures for an episode of NewWho, but was the first time that NewWho was beaten in its timeslot. crying

OUCH. stressed
That's not fun. The second part might have more than usual viewers to make up for the loss? sweatdrop
I thought it was good for the first half.. my friend and I were going 'OMGWTF armflail' at the end, 'cause we just finished a marathon of sorts from episodes 2 - 8.

I can't understand it. Yes, Britain has got talent, but it's on Doctor Who, not some obnoxious brats with pushy parents. I saw a clip of the winner on the news and he was rubbish!
/rant
Anyway, I'm going to be interested to see the digital overnights. Maybe a lot of the people watching Britain's Got (No) Talent will have tuned in to BBC Three...
