Devon rewarded Polly with a crooked grin and a ruffle of her hair before he began mixing up a suitable shade of green. "I know you'll do great, kiddo," he reassured her. "You're gonna look like a Christmas tree, though. Green and red."
Then he glanced over to share the smile with Todd. "He did, huh? Sounds like my kid." He thought for a moment and then laughed. "Hey, yeah. I remember. He mentioned you a couple of times. You two met while he was volunteering at the center's daycare, right?"

"Iggy's really really really nice," confirmed Wisp, in the hushed and slightly reverent tones of those who had gotten to talk with God. "He's really down to earth, you know? He never teases or thinks you're stupid or anything. Does he, Toddette?"

Todd nodded his head slightly in agreement with Wisp, still trying his best to hold still. "I was in the sand box and he came and said hi to me. Then told me how to make my tail wag." He grinned brightly, unable to help himself. "Wispy is nice too! I think Iggy and Wispy are both awesomes. He tolds me he liked gym, just like you Wispy."

Devon laughed softly. "I'll have to tell him that. He'd like to hear it." He carefully smeared a green base over Polly's cheeks, careful to leave swatches of bare skin around her wide eyes. "Wrinkle your nose for me, short stuff?" he asked her. "I wanna make sure it's on heavy enough."

Obligingly Polly wrinkled her nose, making Tock laugh. "Green's not your color, brat," he said. She wrinkled her nose more and stuck her tongue out at him in response.

Wisp laughed out loud, starting to swab bright orange over Todd's cheeks, with deft and careful strokes one usually wouldn't associate with her energetic hands. "You'll like gym too, Todd," she said. "It's so much fun. And Mr. Shade is really really nice -- he's the gym teacher. You get to run around and jump over things and kick balls everywhere. I like art too, though. Do you like drawing at home with your dads?"

Liam decided to answer for Todd this time around, seeing how hard it was for the young boy to keep still as it was. He was a very talkative child, social butterfly at its finest. "He loves to draw. We have his art all over the place, he can't seem to put the crayons down when we're home." He chuckled fondly at the thought, before another caught his attention. "Hey, Wisp. Which school do you go to? It'd be nice if Todd could go to one where he knew some kids."
Todd beamed brightly, he LOVED the idea of going to school with Wisp and Iggy. He especially loved the idea of art class and gym. He couldn't wait until he was old enough! " Would we have classes together Wispy?" he asked this carefully, trying his best not to move his face too much.

"I'm at the Liberty Center school!" she told Liam; obviously Todd was going to go there, right? "Everyone goes there, seriously! It's a really nice school and there are loads of classes and the cafeteria's really nice -- it's just next to the daycare. You know the big buildings? That's us. Some people think it's offices because it looks so nice!"
The school really was well-appointed. Wisp was proud of it. "And sure you'd have classes with me," she told Todd, "though I bet you're smarter, Toddmeister. I'm so bad at everything except like, gym and art, and lunch!" (She laughed at her joke.) "My mom is the maths teacher and she's really nice, but I'm dumb at maths. Do you know one plus one, Toddy?"

As Liam logged the name of the school in the back of his mind, Todd grinned happily at Wisp. He was so excited! He couldn't wait to be old enough to go to school with Wisp and Iggy, it would be so fun! He had a right mind to ask if lunch was really a class, but the random math question had thrown him off a bit.
After having been told about math class when talking to Iggy, he had asked Elliot what math was, and it so happened that one of the first things he had said was, "One plus one is two, Wispy. Well thats what Daddy Elliot tolds me." He grinned happily, hoping he was indeed correct.
