I play as a hobby. My friend thought he could grow up to be in a band, and bought some great gear before he knew how to play. Every so often id go to his house and mess around, and before long i got interested. I already can play saxophone and piano (not well, but i can still play them), and I thought what the heck, how about another instrument. Playing in a band is a dream right now, going from highschool to college kinda ******** up the plan. I dont want to do it for the money, but just for the experience.

I really wanna get a band started.
Me and my best friend jam just about every day and we've been talkin about getting sommething together. (He plays guitar too)
I convinced my brother to buy a bass, but the only problem is all the drummers we know are in bands already.

i play guitar just because its what i love to do. i got into it when i was about 10 or so after seeing system of a down, one of my favorite bands, play live. i saw daron just letting loose on the guitar and that was just the coolest things i've ever seen. i myself have always wanted to be in a band, but i don't know anyone that lives around me that plays.

I pretty much started as a hobby, but i've always wanted to be in a band. When I found out that two of my friends played drums and guitar we just wanted to make music. Thats pretty much it. Band now I would guess, but it was a hobby and still is.

[~Space Ace~] I play because it's what I love. I'm in a band (not sure how serious it is though, 'cause my bass player's never even touched a bass in her life, but the others actually care), and the guitar just makes me feel good. When I play, my headaches go away, all my problems fade, and, well... I just really get off on playing the guitar, y'know? My Les Paul = my life. <3 great wording. yeah whenever I'm pissed I grab my guitar and either a) play a bunch of bar chords and make my arm tired so I'll forget what my former problem was b) hit whoever made me pissed with it, or c) write an angry song, record it, send it to a friend and wait for them to respond with "Who was this written for?"

I play the guitar because I love to play the guitar. ^_^ No more, no less.
I don't plan to have a career by playing the guitar. Why? Because if I have a career, I MUST play the guitar even when I don't want to. I wanna play when I wanna play.

I play for a few different reasons.
First, I thought I didn't really have any sort of other talent so I knew I just had to learn one so why not guitar. So it is my hobby and stuff.
Second, I just LOVE music,I am like completely obsessed with it I can't go anywhere without my mp3 player it's like attached to me LOL.I just love how music can make me feel happy,sad,angry,confident etc.
Third, I play because I wanted to start a band and well I have one now but I'd always see all this backstage stuff with all of my favorite bands and well I want to have all of that fun that they do.

And then everybody died. I love it because I love music and I'm a nerd in school (AND PROUD BITCHES) and playing guitar changed that. A little. Except for me. Idiots.

XxXx_gnr_rox_my_sox_XxXx im too young to be in a band but id like to join one when possible if i find the right people,but mostly i play because i love music and its really comforting to play. awww ur never too young!im 12 and i play in a band.its a matter of knowing the right people....but yeah i play for the same reasons which is why i quoted mrgreen

MCRaddict-rp Band is a go, but still needs a drummer. to find a drummer you might wanna see if you can put some kind of flyer or sumthin anywhere u can think of....a local music store.....cd shop...anywhere music related and you will get a pretty good response,hope i helped! 4laugh

I play classical guitar and I do it because I love playing the guitar. It's part of who I am. I feel so at peace when I play a song. I play when I'm happy and when I'm sad.

This may sound lame but i started playing cause i was like sad..... and music totally cheers me up no matter what... its what i have based most of my life around, listening, playing, recording, it's everything to me... Honestly playing in a band though is one of the best experiences you can have and in the end if your playing in a band for fun its a hobby and if your not having fun you shouldn't be in the band. Guitar is about expression and fun if you aren't having fun don't play. just my opinion though
