Just like Iron Kingdoms and regular 40k a game that I'd like to give a shot, but money is always a moot point with these "hobbies" and things like "going out drinking".

I've heard that the rules are decent enough and that there's plenty of supplements already out there for everything but the pacific.

Hmm, this doesn't seem to be much about modeling, so I'm probably going to be moving this to another subforum. Any opinions on "Other GW Games" (I know it's not, but it fits) or "General Discussion"?

Throw it in with the other games, you can always edit the title of the sub forum and remove GW from the title cool

Works. I was thinking of putting it in here before, but it isn't GW. D:

Yeah. Flames of War is good because it's ww2, so you can play with any ww2 models, really. Helps if they're 15mil, of course.
But yeah, even models that aren't Flames of War still cost money.

xD

A bit big I reckon. Though 1/100 planes are usually used.

I still haven't started on this game as of yet, though the release of the starter set at the end of this month may change that.

ok, i recently looked into this, and it seems interesting with all the large scale tank battles, although, im wondering if its worth getting, and where good stockists are within the milton keynes area, i know the local hobbycraft does them, but im unsure about anywhere else.

are the models easy to build and paint

also, the rules, are they easy to pick up for an (ex) WH40k player.

and last question, price vs GW products

Having made a massive purchase myself I can tell you that yes, the models are easy to assemble. You just need to clean them properly and have super glue handy as they use resin and metal almost exclusively for everything. Infantry models take some more time and care to work, as you need to smear some filler over their bases to hide away the tabs they are fixed to. Painting doesn't look too hard, as the models are tiny and no super-detail is needed to make them look good.

Rules I can't really give an opinion on just yet, a bit too soon for me. sweatdrop

Pricing is on the par with GW sadly.

ah well, thats a b****r about pricing, however you do seem to get more in the way of tanks in terms of money wise from what ive observed. and im glad about not having to put super detail on my troops, as its kinda what killed my passion for warhammer, all the painting, all the detail, i want an army i can build, and paint up quick for once.

although, what do you mean by filler.. like.. green stuff ?

Greenstuff, putty or some of the filler stuff they recommend.

If you want to field a lot of tanks, go with a late war Russian army. wink

i was thinking about going with germans, because of the historic tanks, although, what is the most popular genre, ( early-mid-late? )
