It's not overrated by the general populous (yet) but it is overrated by fans (so is Kojima)

@Zombicide: I agree. I wouldn't say it's anywhere near as overrated as Halo. I don't see Zelda as that overrated (I don't see fanwanks jerking off to it nor n00bish threads made about it so it's not that overrated in my eyes yet). I put FF's overrateness in between Halo and Zelda. It's not nearly as overrated as Halo but it's more overrated than Zelda. (FFVII fanwanks overpower OoT fanwanks by far.)

Edit: This months collectibles aren't helping at all...

Really though, MGS is a legendary series. And this month, the legend literally ends. This is the last of the series. It's done, it's over. I think it's fitting for gaia to have tributed the series. Gotta remember, it's over 20 years old.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and for those who dont know. Rumors be true. Ending's almost two hours long.

SAgitar said it was an hour and 50 minutes long. But it sounds epic. Hint: don't turn off consol just cause credits start to roll

Not surprised a Nintendo fan doesn't care for in-depth storytelling. OHHHHH SNAP!!! mrgreen

Anyways, I'm halfway through the game, and I am already looking forward to playing through it again. Not something I have EVER done this generation so far.

You can have in-depth storytelling w/o movie length cut scenes or many cut scenes period. I prefer games to be 3/4 gameplay and 1/4 at most cut scenes. I don't like to play games that have over 25% of it consisting of cut scenes and I don't like cut scenes that are over 5 minutes long.

Just beat that particular boss about an hour or so ago. Why?

@Wak: Just joshing you, I like many Nintendo-only storylines. However, I don't mind cutscenes being as long as they need to be to tell the best possible story. And I also prefer my protagonists to, y'know, actually speak and have SOME kind of personality (Link being the only exception, he's perfect the way he is).

Oh, and because I can't quite describe how good this game is, I'll let these guys do it for me:

“It is not only the best Metal Gear game, but one of the best games ever made, period.” - GamePro (5/5)

“Indeed, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots shatters the proverbial bar, becoming a technical, cinematic and gaming standard that future action and stealth titles will be judged by.” - IGN (10/10)

“Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is the most technically stunning video game ever made… every part of its design seemingly fulfills its vision, without compromise. There is no halfway.” - Gamespot (10/10)

"With the series' last breath, Hideo Kojima's defining opus does more than just surpass the previous Metal Gear titles - it creates a landmark gaming experience that continually astounds with its variety, depth, and intelligence. Metal Gear Solid 4 is a masterpiece." - Gameinformer (10/10)

Because of the lil chase sequence before that fight. Everything in the background was perfectly detailed. Even the bricks in the sidewalks looks like they had been hand carved. Each shaded individually. That was the first part of MGS4 I saw, and the sheer beauty and care of detail they put into every little bit of the buildings, doors, walls, road, and sidewalks were amazing!!!
