((PAH! I'm starting the roleplay, mkay?))
Mai streched, hands held high over her head. Letting them fall to her sides, as she stood up on a branch in a nearby tree. The base wasn't far away, but Mai sometimes felt as if she was trapped in there. So, she often went out for the afternoons, now a days, and enjoyed the sunshine. She turned her head to the side, to see the entrance to the base, and realized she better get back before leader-sama thought she was escaping.
Mai jumped gracefully down from the tree, and started to walk back towards the base. She looked up at the sky, wondering how long it would be before she would get a mission. Upon looking to the sky, Mai got a flash of memory from her past life.
"Mai! I told you not to get in your teammates' way!" A voice bellowed angrily towards the young Chunnin.
Mai flinched back in fear. This was expected. Her team had failed because of her, and now she was being punished.
"Our family is highly respected! Grow up, won't you!? Stop screwing up! Maybe if you were able to carry on the family honor, we wouldn't have this damned problem!" Her father vented, notrils flaring.
Mai cowered to the ground, bowing down to her father. She had only been 10 at the time, no where near big enough to take on her father. She had also been so naive, so shy.
"I-I-I'm s-s-sorry, f-father..." Mai stuttered, her face flushing as she looked up at the angred man.
"You have no right to call me your father, you disgrace!" He screamed, swiping the table before him up, and onto Mai with one sweeping motion of his hand.
Mai cried, and struggled to get free. Just as her father had cornered her..
Mai pouted when this memory came back to her, and she scowled at the sky angrily, right before she entered the base.
Sighing, she made her way to her room, just as Tobi grabbed her wrist and pulled her to the side.
What did the orange-masked boy have to tell her now?

Kakuzu awoke from his trance like meditation. This meditation involved him sitting down cross legged on the floor, this was his form of sleep. While he meditated, his mind was blank even from his usaul dreams of riches. Standing up from the floor, he tightened the stitches within his body just in case they were loose at all. Everyday he carried out the usaul way: Eating breakfast and counting the Akatsuki's funds. The spare funds he would take a percentage of for his own greed. If it weren't for that percentage of stolen funds, he would have found it harder to stay with these bunch of kids. In order to be intrested in anything, money needed to be invovled when it came to Kakuzu. After his daily routine, he would just wait for orders or go on private missions. These missions usaully involved either money or replacing lost body parts from the last mission. Occasionally a good fight would come along and he would loose a heart or two from the battle. This was not the case, he was fully stocked with spare hearts. This meant Kakuzu would be earning some more personal funds today, but first he would wait to see if any orders came from the boss. Kakuzu didn't like working under someone he didn't know well, but he seemed to be a good leader. Kakuzu was old enough to make some well educated guesses on who the boss was around here, but he wouldn't know for sure tillthey actaully met face to face. The kid did have hair like the Fourth Hokage, but even Kakuzu knew that he died using that technique of his. Till the designated time, he would wait for a mission from the boss, hopfully for something involving riches. Going to his quarters, he came across Zetsu's apprentice, Tobi and that new girl. He found Tobi to be annoying, too care free for this organization. Kisame seemed to like him, Kakuzu would have guessed that he would. Kakuzu would gladly trade Hidan for Tobi, Hidan could be a real annoyance sometimes. Though he hated Hidan, they did have complementing abilities. Hidan gets hurt, Kakuzu would put him back together. The girl he did't know, but it was about time a women joined. The Akatsuki could use a woman's touch around the place. Kakuzu of course was joking to himself, but half heartedly.

Mai turned, just as Tobi had started talking, to see some man walk past her. He seemed pretty freaky, but that, Mai guessed, was strictly standards around here. Everyone here, in the Akatsuki, was at least a little scary. Like Zetsu, and his plant thinger, and Kisame with his whole... appearance. Mai identified this man as probably Kakuzu, the greedy money guy. She, of course, had nicknames for everyone, but getting one for Kakuzu would be hard. Besides, don't want to get on his bad side.
But, the scariest of them all, Mai had to admit, was Leader-sama. He had the whole vibe to him, that told you to back off. Unless you want to be killed.
Mai smiled weakly at Kakuzu, then turned back to Tobi. Apparently, he had some new trick up his sleeve, and wanted help with it. Mai listened intently, then smirked.
"Nice one Tobi." She said in a hushed voice.
"Tobi is a good boy!" Tobi said happily, clapping his hands together.
Mai rolled her eyes, and sighed, before closing her eyelids in thought. Now, how were thy to pull this one off without getting caught?
It was a tricky prank.
One only for the elite. But, Mai knew she could handle it. Just, there was that strong possibility of getting killed...

"Come on, Ryu! 5 more laps and you're done!" Zetsu was ordering Ryu around the track. She wasn't sure why, but he was, and that was that. Maybe he thought he could train her better then she could train herself.
Anyway, back to the present. Ryu's body wasn't going to stand 5 more laps. Then again, now it was 4 more. 3 more...2 more....1 more...
Ryu tripped over the line and lay flat on her face, all motivation barfed out with the rest of the blood. Zetsu seemed pleased, however. "Good, good! Take your break now, and we will resume after 30 minutes." Zetsu clapped, yoinked Ryu up, and sent her stumbling body on its way.
Pretty soon, she came upon Mai and Tobi. "Hello, you two. Did you know that Zetsu is the scourge of god? I've been here for as long as I can remember, but only now he's picking me up. Super intensive training program, before you ask. I think I'll go die in some bushes. Have any requests?" Ryu looked around at the surrounding bushes. She couldn't look around very well after doing 2,000 laps under Zetsu's command.
Although, she shouldn't be whining, moaning, or complaining. She had been here so long that she was considered 'one of the guys', so of course Zetsu made a mistake and pushed her too hard. Hard enough to fall over, actually. But that wasn't the point.
Completely ignoring the fact that she had said earlier that she was going to die in the bushes, she kicked the ground with a hoof, then talked to Mai. "So, what are you guys gonna pull off this time? I hope it's good. Come on, tell me. Please?"

Mai smiled again as Ryu approached them, and laughed at her little complaint with Zetsu's training. Mai hadn't really been training for long, about an hour or so a day. No one was really bothered to train her, so she just lagged around, training when she felt like it. Of course, if Deidara was feeling like it, he'd drag her out to work on her techniques.
Mai's smile faded into a smirk, as Ryu asked what they were planning.
"Well, you, being here so long, should know it's useless to know what a work of art is supposed to be, before it's done. And we, Tobi and I, are artists of the 'pranking'." Mai paused, nose tilted upwards, as if she was all high and mighty.
"But.. if we reveal our plans, you must keep them a secret. For, if anyone were to find out about the blueprints for our next sceme, it would be totally worthless." Mai giggled, then beamed again. It was obvious, since it was written on her face, that the prank was good.
{flashback}
"So, you like pranking, hm?" Deidara asked Mai, her third week with the Akatsuki.
Mai smirked and nodded.
"Well, to be good like Tobi and I at tricks, you must be able to do the most dangerous of all." He said, closing his eyes and holding up his left index finger, as if to produce an instructional air to his words.
Mai rose an eyebrow, and looked slightly confused. "Whatd'ya mean?"
"Hmph." Deidara grunted, then wispered the trick into her ear.
Mai's eyes widened, and then smiled. "Fine... I guess I could do that. You could come up with better though.." She had said, before standing up, and walking off towards Itachi's room.
About half an hour or so later. There was a mess in the hallway, outside of Itachi's room. Then, there was laughter.
Mai walked, innocently, into the hallway, where Deidara, Kisame, Itachi, Zetsu, and Tobi stood. They were all laughing, except Itachi. Heck, Zetsu was even smiling.
What was in the hallway? All of Itachi's underwear. Scattered. Ahem. Or should you say, whitey-tighties? Yes, it's true. Uchiha Itachi did not wear boxers, but he wore underwear. To make sure it was Itachi's, his name was inside every pair. Mai started cracking up, as Deidara wispered into her ear.
"You were only supposed to take one pair and leave it somewhere, un!"
{end flashback}
Mai smirked at the flashback. Ah, the good times.

"I know you're thinking about the 'good times.' Let me tell you something. There is no such thing as the 'good times', simply what we wish to remember higher then what we choose to forget." Ryu had a habit of speaking in weird little spazzes between annoying teen and all powerful writer. "So, what are you doing? Spill the beans, girl!"
This was a time that showed how quickly she could shift.
Ryu poked Mai's shoulder. "oo! Is it something that has to do with Zetsu? Please tell me it is, as I wish to strangle him." She made gestures in the air, then went back to trying for the info. This meant that she was going to have to annoy it out of Mai.
And usually, this sort of thing worked. Ryu had annoyed information out of almost every member in the Akatsuki. She had even weaseled some out of Itachi(Ha! Weasel it out of Itachi!), for goodness sake, and he seemed to hate women in general.
But then again, she was one of the guys.
Hm.

((Okay.. even I can laugh AT THAT!! lol lol weasel... ehehehehe... weasel!))
Mai sweatdropped, and scrathed the side of her head in confusion. "O-okay then..."
Her face became back to it's high and mighty state quickly, as she was preparing to reveal the the little trick. Of course, it involved all the Akatsuki members, and not just one. Well, save for Konan and Leader-sama, that is. They weren't the best victims.
"Hehe. Alright, alright. Stop being annoying. It actually involves all of the Akatsuki members, if you so wish to strangle Zetsu. Though, I can assure you nothing will be done to Leader-sama or Konan-san. That's a sure thing." Mai explained, raising her index finger, like Deidara had, in an instructional way.
Tobi turned to Mai. "But, Mai-chan! Ryu might tell!" He protested.
"Which is why she'll be brought into our prank too! That way, if she tells, she'll be to blame as well..." Mai whispered to Tobi. Though, it wouldn't matter if Ryu had heard. Either way, she'll probably be pissed.
Mai brushed Ryu's finger away from her shoulder, then sighed deeply. " Okay, so the trick won't be easy to pull off. It's very elaborate." Mai started, using hand gestures.
Mai wasn't completely idiotic. She knew nothing could be said while Kakuzu was around, as it involved him too. Something to do with money.. hehe. Or, really, his money.
Mai got that blaze in her eye, which told whoever happened to be there, that she was being spiteful again. Mai surpressed the need to laugh evily, and took a deep breath.
"I--" Mai was cut short, by a pair of hands being placed on her shoulders.
"Hello, Mai-chan. Please carry on. I'm dying to hear your new prank." A familiar voice came from behind her.
Mai jumped away, so she was now facing the man who snuck up on her.
"Oh, uhh.. there's no prank, Deidara..." Mai stammered, waing her hand in front of her, while the other rubbed the back of her head. She sweatdropped, and laughed nervously.
Deidara laughed. "Oh well. Guess I heard wrong. Anyways, Mai-chan, you're coming with me for some training no, hm?" Deidara stated, and started to drag her away.
Mai took the chance to wave goodbye to Tobi and Ryu, while mouthing:
"I'll meet you later, right here."
Before she freed herself, and walked alongside Deidara.

"What are the fools wasting their time with now? As long as its not something stupid involving me, Tobi is poisoning all of our new recruits."
Kakuzu walked further down the hall, ignoring those three. Kakuzu hated dealing with these kids, a man of his age was too old to be in an organization that prizes itself around things other then money. If the boss didn't allow him to take a few bounties, Kakuzu would have quit a long time ago. He always had a special mail service dropped off in a far away area where he would pick it up later. This mail was many wanted posters and under the table bounties. From criminals to feudal lords, it didn't matter. Though some bounties had gain him hero status in certain lands, making him seem like a good person, but really it would be just another job. Tobi, Mai, and Ryu made him angry, they should be worried about their finances, not stupid immature pranks. They weren't going to go any where in this world without money, because of his own desire of money, Kakuzu have lived a long time. Even long enough to have fought the First Hokage, which Kakuzu still regrets that he couldn't have got his heart. With the First's heart, control over the power to create life would have made lots of money. He had placed the posters a few days ago in his private box in the main quarters of the hideout. Kakuzu flipped through the posters, nothing intresting in the legal bounties and no illegal ones were delivered this month.

((BTW, Ryu isn't a new recruit. She's been around for a good 5 years.))
Ryu shrugged as Deidra dragged Mai off, and turned back, headed over to go beat up Itachi.
"Oi, Itachi."
"Yes, Ryu?"
"Let me beat you up."
"Um, no."
"Well, die anyway!" Ryu kicked Itachi with her hoof, throwing him into the distance. "Ups. Didn't mean to do that. ...Oh well. Gotta find Zetsu now!" Ryu skipped off as if she was an innocent little girl who didn't know she was wearing a robe of death.
She did know, of course, but that wasn't the point. She was simply acting that way so if a random ninja DID happen to see her, they wouldn't immediantly attack her, and let her get close enough to trap them in an illusion.
Ah, life was great.

"Right. Show me that jutsu again, the one where you travel through solid objects." Deidara instructed.
Mai then sighed, but did as she was told, passing through a nearby tree.
"Good. Now let's spar, un." He suggested, smirking.
Mai eyed him curiously, but disppeared beneath the Earth. She came up again, this time behind Deidara. Tapping his neck ever so slightly, Mai watched as he fell forward. She caught him, then propped him up against a tree.
Mai looked over at the unconcious Deidara, and sighed. She then slapped him across the face, and he woke up.
"Hm?" He questioned, opening his eyes.
Mai smirked. "You suggested sparring." She pointed out, then helped him up.

Hakuzu had taken extra precausions in the last few days that would hopfully allow his money safety. Hakuzu was old, but even he didn't mind a good prank once in awhile if it didn't involve his money. Kakuzu had fund invested in many small trading companies and a few franchises. This allowed the majority of his riches to be untouchable thanks to the networking of his investments. Kakuzu went by the name Knight in trading and investment, it was very hard to track his dealings. He did have alot of money in his quarters, all located in the safe he kept in his room. These were his bribe funds in order to keep his investments in line. Without those funds, keeping control of his investments would have to be carried out by force. Currently Kakuzu was in the dining hall, eating a bowl of rice. He enjoyed his rice with nothing on it, its was cheaper that way. While eating, he always read one of the books from his study or the several bounties he received from the monthly drop off.

rin sat in her room. she sighed. being in the akatsuki bored her and tobi was always on her nerevs. lately there had been a jump in the number of girls there and it was kind of wierd. for the most part rin stayed locked in her room. KNOCK KNOCK. the door opened. it was itachi.
"Do you need something?" she asked rolling her eyes.
"Your supposed to be at trainging." he nagged
she rolled her eyes and followed him out the door. for some reason itachi found it nessicary that she was properly trained. it bored her so she would simply do as he asked and return to her room.

Mai saw Itachi and Rin in the distance, and decided to head over.
"Later Dei-Dei!" Mai said in a sing-song voice, before disappearing beneath the Earth once again.
Deidara sighed, and started to look around for her.
Mai appeared right beside Rin, and walked along side them. Itachi glared at her deathly, but Mai only smiled back. "Hello, people." She said happily.

"hey"rin said. mia was one of the few girls at the akatsuki she liked. "wat up?" she asked ignoring itachi's galres.
"rin,"itachi whined"you still ahve to train."
"i know...later." she said.
((love that comic!yes i would but someone else might hurt rin and rin would like to live awhile longer.))

"Nothing Much..." Mai said, then paused to think. "And making Deidara try and catch up to me. He thinks he so good, and, helloo~, I'm the one who just knocked him out." Mai complained, then finished with an exasperated sigh.
"So, Rin, what about you? I hope Itachi-san isn't training you too hard." Mai said, smirking at Itachi. They shared a hatred of each other, that was for sure.
