"Thanks," Jamie smiled and asked without much though behind the question, "Have we met before? Maybe in my mom's Cafe'? You look familiar..."
Realizing he was being adressed by everyone else too he waved, coming inside and shaking his head, "Nah, I can't play anything...my sis can play a pretty mean guitar, but I'm no good at anything like that. Need someone to do the sound stuff though? Speakers and stuff? I could probably play with lights too..."

"Okay, seriously, put this guy down for sound now," demanded Jace of Christian. "Do you know how hard it is to find a sound guy who doesn't wear coke-bottle specs and is a complete nerd?"
It sounded as though Jace had done it all before. She hadn't. But she was good at making it sound like she had, anyway.
"Drummer and sound guy," she said, "excellent."

Yet another head poked it's way into the gym. This time, that head belonged too Rory. She had seen the signs with Chris' name on it as the lead singer. That meant she had to come and check out what he was up too.
A rock and roll band? ...A violin so didn't belong in a rock and roll band, did it? But maybe there would be something for her, anyway...? Or maybe she could learn something else! She could read music now, after all! And she could tell tones and things like that!
So-- "Hi!" she said, stepping more into the gym and going to where Chris and the others were.

Chris grinned at the sight of her, that bright, happy grin he used to show her all the time. "You gonna join the band, Rory?" he asked. "Alright, you can play bass. Now we got the entire band!"
He paused. "But I guess some of us need to learn how to play, right? And we need to pick a song writer. I can try, but I can't write music at all."

Rory blinked at that old grin he gave her. He hadn't grinned like that in a while! Ant it rather made her feel good, truth be told. At least no one asked her if she could sing.
"I can read music, and I bet mama will show me who to write it?" she suggested, mentally noting down all that she was going to have to do now: get a bass guitar, learn it, and get music paper.

Nacho tilted his head and considered the offer. "Nah, I can't do that. But I bet we could get help from this one guy Dad works with. His name is Doug. Dad says he's a real metal-head. I'm pretty sure that just means he likes really loud music. That's what we wanna play, right?"

"Yeah!" Chris said. "Think he's got some songs we can play?" It'd be a lot easier if someone else provided the music and they could just learn to play, after all.

Ignacio shrugged. He had no idea. Up until this point, it hadn't even occured to him that music needed to be written down somewhere. "Maybe. I think he curses a lot when he sings, though. At least the music he plays at the shop has a lot of that kind of thing." He glanced at Jace, trying not to snicker because he had a feeling she would be all for as much bad language as possible. "Dad says it's not nice to say the f-word... Even in Spanish."

A new figure entered the gym; Wisp Darnell held an expression of horrified, deeply betrayed anger, fists clenched, probably the angriest that any of them (save her sister, who feigned death on the bleachers) had ever seen. Her line of sight was directed wholly at Christian, though she threw a horrified look at Rory's way, as though to say what did he make you do?! "A band?" she said.
"You can't join," her sister said immediately.
"I don't want to join your dumb band," snapped Wisp, though she looked as though she regretted it a little. But then -- "You say all that stuff about superheroes and, and things, and then you want to do a BAND instead?"

Rory immediately looked guilty. She didn't know Wisp would be sooo mad about being in a band! A band would be a cool thing! And,well.. She fidgeted from foot to foot, looking from Chris to Wisp.
She suddenly felt in the middle, between two best friends. It wasn't fair! "Um, well... can't we do both?" Rory asked Wisp, desperate for some agreement. After all, she wanted to do things with both Chris -and- Wisp! She didn't want to have to choose between friends!

"He doesn't want to do both," Wisp said, arms crossed. "He's -- he's -- you're a big coward Christian Deakon I can't believe you care about people shooting and just want to have a band."
(Of course, normal people cared about other people shooting at them.)

"Wisp, you little idiot, it's not ME I'm worried about them shooting at!" Chris bellowed, his duel voices echoing so loudly that dust shook off of the rafters above them. The windowpanes threatened to shatter as well. One even cracked.
He took a deep breath, calming himself. "Get out," he said lowly. "This is not the place for this discussion."
