I play oboe and then I got bored and played recorder. One cost fifty cents and the other a fortune, one nobody's heard of and one everyone hates, and both are awesome.

well, its not really weird, but i have done my fair share of instrument changes....
Violin to Viola..... (really glad i did that)
Sax to *now* Bass Clarinet for marching band...
I have since stopped violin, but i am still active with sax... Bass Clarinet needs a lot of work though (>.<)

the_forgotten_thought ok, so i learned to play the french horn after the sax, but my bd who's main instrument was the french horn hates saxes. then my sax tutor who plays the bari sax professionally hates the french horn. anyways, anyone else play opposite instruments? Percussion to oboe of all things

I switched from French horn to trumpet. They aren't really opposites, but at least at my school there's a brass rivalry going on between them . . . eesh.

My brother plays Alto Sax, and he dislikes trombone players. My father plays Trombone, and he dislikes Saxophone players. I play trumpet and i think alto sax and trombone players are HOT! (not them of course!)
