Wow... You're not very nice. stare
Show the love, man! gonk Just because Choicers disagree with us is no reason to be uncivilized! And even if you think that they are completely rude jerks, insulting them like that is just dropping to their level!
I find it hard to believe that -all- Pro-Choicers want everyone to get an abortion. Sure, I've seen some, but most I've met personally don't necessarily think that abortions should be a regular thing, just that they shouldn't be made illegal by the government, and that if people want one they should be allowed to get one. Obviously, this means that they value the life of the fetus less then the choice of the mother, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are bad people.
I've had friends who believe that abortion is wrong, for undefined reasons, but don't want to force their morals on people, the famous hallmark of Pro-Choicers. And while their opinion irritates me, I wouldn't go so far as to say that they are Pro-Death.
I've visited the Pro-Choice guild fairly recently... It's about as quiet in there as it is in here. So it's not really like they are actively insulting us at the moment. neutral

coffeeSlave Wow... You're not very nice. stare Show the love, man! gonk Just because Choicers disagree with us is no reason to be uncivilized! And even if you think that they are completely rude jerks, insulting them like that is just dropping to their level! War's not about being nice, now is it? It's about winning. And this war is about saving the unborn children of our species. I don't see why I should be nice to my enemies. Quote: I find it hard to believe that -all- Pro-Choicers want everyone to get an abortion. Quote: I've visited the Pro-Choice guild fairly recently... It's about as quiet in there as it is in here. But if you read back only a month or so, there -are- threads that are specifically insulting and hateful.

What''s up with that pro-death, er, pro-choice song anyway? That Vele...whatever person seemed nice in that guild, but then you read those words and you just want to slap her. Maybe it''s just me?

Xiterrose What''s up with that pro-death, er, pro-choice song anyway? That Vele...whatever person seemed nice in that guild, but then you read those words and you just want to slap her. Maybe it''s just me? It's not just you! At one point I thought Veled wasn't that bad... But just looking at that poem changes that opinion, eh? That poem is despicable. I can't believe that it follows ToS, because of the "Then we think you're stupid!" part. I'm pretty sure that the Pro-Choicers have a Mod on their side, that allows that sort of thing.

Veled's nice, she's pointed out before that she was looking for a rhyme.
It's completely within TOS. It'd be like saying, If you say you're prochoice, we think you're a murderer. It's an opinion, a generalized one, but hey, it isn't....hateful. Now if it was saying that people who are prolife should be tarred, feathered, and run out of town, that would be questionable.
This isn't a war. The truth of it is we want a solution to a problem. They're willing to sacrifice life to solve it; we aren't. What we've got now is a diplomatic stalemate; so we need to keep searching for solutions.
Their guild tends to be a bit insulting towards this one, yes, but if I thought that someone was trying to enslave women, I'd probably be insulting too. Okay, that's a lie because I would just laugh, but um, if they want to be insulting, that's their choice. If they think those awful things, I feel sorry for them that they can't open their minds slightly. But come on, what good does this do?

The only thing they are willing to 'sacrifice' is the lives of unborn children; And that's what they want to do anyways. I don't see how they are sacrificing at all; Sacrificing, in this instance, would be saying something like, "Yeah, let's be for abortions only if they are done immediately after the pregnancy is discovered."

Not so. If a compromise could be reached where the life could be saved AND the pregnancy could be ended, many would go for it.
And
They have an asian guild. That's TOS. Unless you'd like to retract all of your previous statements about people who were Pro-Kerry during the 2004 election....
AND
I agree it's not an excuse, but she wasn't going out of her way to be mean or trying to be offensive. SHe just did it accidentally.

First, I don't believe I've ever discriminated against asians. And if you just look at a very recent post in there, people who are active in that guild by and large are against artificial wombs, which could be that middle ground. They say that they would be worried about what happened to the child after they got rid of it, and such things. I guess that knowing for sure it's dead is more comforting to them. stare

This is abortion as birth control, not as an unfortunate solution to pregnancy.
Because the asian guild is only for asians, if I remember correctly. And you made some cutting comments about Kerryites that're just as effect as the line in the Abortion Song.

I don't think the asian guild says that all non-asians are stupid... If I did make any blanket statements about Kerryites, which I don't doubt I might have, they weren't placed in a banner, and I'm not still saying them. Even if I had put them in a banner, which I know I didn't, I haven't been using said banner for over a year...

You haven't, but you have in the past. My point is you didn't get in trouble for any statement you made about it. Even though most of Gaia was pro-Kerry. It wasn't because the mods were on your side, but because comments like that are allowed, even in a banner. If you made a banner targeting a specific user and calling names, it'd be different.

Mcphee I.Am Yet, as you say, you call it a choice to soften the blow. That would imply, in my mind, that you know the truth, but you are drawn by the other side for the sake of being able to sleep at night, because you don''t want to be -forcing- anyone to do something just because you don''t like it. So, if you were honest, wouldn''t you have to admit that you are, in actuallity, Pro-Death? No.
I refuse to call myself ''Pro-death'' just like I refuse to call Pro-life people ''Anti-choice''. Or, for that matter, ''pro-fetus'' or ''anti-woman''. Those are terms that you use to try and make someone feel negatively about the position they''ve taken-- and I believe you need to accept the viewpoint you take, and support it with the term that best suits you.
I could call you guys ''pro-fetus'' or ''anti-woman'' if I wanted to be a p***k. But I don''t. Number 1, I''m in the pro-life guild, number 2, It''s disrespectful, and number 3, it doesn''t depict how I accurately feel about pro-life people-- specifically the ones in this guild. We''re not anti-choice though. We''re anti-legal-choice. They''d still have the choice, just not the legal one.
