Azibo puttered around the plains, collecting water here and there as he went. His problem however, was not of the aquatic variety, but of something a bit more substantial. Able to hear his stomach audibly roaring back at him almost as loud as he himself could roar did nothing to boast this hunter's ego. How many days had it been since he'd taken down that little thing? And only a few mouthfuls did he even get out of it.
So, he stalked from bush to bush, sniffed for trails, anything that might bring him sustenance. Shaking his mane, dust formed in a cloud around him. He hadn't even had time to clean himself properly. Not that one cold tell. His mother had been part goddess, or so he was told, and blessed him with the disguise of rock. The rock colouring of the mountains he'd traveled from at the very least. Down here, he might pass as a rock, but not as likely. And the white gave him away in an instant. Such was life though, and it had been his choice to leave. While pondering this however, he looked up to see himself standing face to face with a lioness. It was all he could do to freeze in his tracks, so overcome was he at the sight.

Lore laughed and began to play with Trail, her eyes glittering. "So, whatcha doin'?" she asked, curious. Lore had woken up a tad bit late and followed slightly a little bit farther behind than the other pack members, and she thought that this was just another romp. Lore had no idea that the stone-colored lion was anywhere nearby, but she looked up at the sky, her mirth gone, as the roar echoed. "What was that?" she murmured, huddling close to Trali.

Trali rounded on his 'sister' as she pounced him, a yeowl of indignation emitting from his throat as the thwapped at her with a clawed paw, pushing her off. His golden eyes were narrowed and she stood, a snarl pulling his features into a nasty grimace. Shaking himself out so his fur wasn't as mussed as she had made it, he glared at her, and then his 'brother', as he came bounding up to them, obviously done with his stern telling off.
"Don't you pounce on me! I'd eat you for breakfast if you were any bigger." His stomach growled as if to accentuate the point. "Find them yourself if you want them, I'm not interested!" He flicked his tail out of reach of his younger 'sibling', a snort of anger flaring his nostrils. He had just started to walk away when Lore pressed herself against his side. He yowelled again and shoved her away. Sitting on her, he growled. "Don't act so childish, fool! Its bound to be another lion! What did you think, we were the only ones in this part of the land? Foolish!" Pushing off, he stalked away and settled himself, slumped, further away, eyes daring his 'siblings' to try another gag like before. His claws flexed in their beds, shifting the sandy earth beneath the paws.

Lore gave Trali a look that said 'Sheesh.'. The cub walked away, her feelings hurt. "Could've at least been nicer about it..." she grumbled, setting herself down on the other side of the clearing. And I was only playing. Really, he's just a grumpy guy! But still, the roar worried her. They were alone and only cubs, and with another lion around... "Hope he gets eaten..." Lore murmured, glaring in Trali's direction.

Xesni's eyes widened at Lore's remark. "That was a bit mean, Lore," he laughed, not worried about the roar in the slightest. Sparra was the strongest lioness he'd ever known, so he believed she'd be able to chase the other lion off. He puffed his chest out before lowering himself in a predatorial crouch, intending to pounce on Lore while she wasn't looking. His tail lashed behind him, his eyes narrowing on his "prey", as he launched himself at her. Biting playfully at her ears.

The lioness froze and looked over Azibo with startled golden eyes. She had not been expecting to come across another lion...
Let alone a male. He seemed to come from nowhere and he blended in well, if it wasn't for his startling bright mane.
Her startled fear flashed away quickly. When one was on their own, they had to act fast. This male could easily be a threat and she perceived him as such, especially since several cubs were depending on her.
Her fur bristled and her lips drew upwards into a snarl, revealing her sharp fangs. "Who are you? What are you doing, trespassing?" Her words were s harp. She was bluffing, though, of course. The territory was new and small. She was not in much position to defend it from a pride, but he seemed to be alone.
OOC: Sorry... Interwebz went out suddenly for almost a week...

"Trespassing? I smelled no markers to say such. As for what i'm doing here, i'm hunting, but this place is useless." Sitting down on his back legs, he shook his mane a bit, trying to get out the travel dust he knew was there. "As for who, I'm named Azibo. And you are?"
The lion acted as if the lioness weren't capable of attacking him at any moment. It was at the very least the best he could do to not feel threatening to her and her obvious litter. Male lions were known to come in and kill such cubblings, just because they weren't his. The practice doesn't happen much now that Zahina intervened, but that fear was still there, always hammering away at the back of any single mother's mind.

As Xesni pounced on her and began to play, Lore instantly brightened. She rolled and jumped on Xesni's back, rubbing on his shoulder before jumping over him. As the other lion talked, Lore tried to keep up a happy facade. The other lion was much, much bigger than any of the cubs, and could easily slaughter one with a swish of his paw. Lore was worried, but her little playtime absorbed her attention for the moment to take her mind off of such things. ((No problem. I've been kind of forgetting about this one for a bit... ^^;; I'll post more often now, though. And possibly leave tags! XD))

"This territory is taken. The markers might be faint, but they are there." She growled in a bluff response and eyed him carefully. He laid down and acted calmly, but one could never quite tell, no matter how rare the events of a cub killing had become.
"Azibo? Sparra." She replied bluntly and her tail flicked. "My name is Sparra." He was right... Hunting was useless here, or so it seemed. "Prey is scarce here..."

Xesni's ears flattened against his head, a small hiss coming from his maw. Trali might've been the elder of the two male cubs, but he wouldn't defend the family. At least, that what Xesni thought. Sparra was his mother, Lore and the others were his siblings; he would protect them. The male was bigger than he, yes, but that wouldn't stop him from doing his best to impose damage on the lion if he tried anything funny.
He pawed at the flower marking over Lore's eye as he thought. Trali called him foolish and idiotic; he considered himself brave at times. Really, what was he? He was a cub; a cub who would at least try to defend his pride. And in his mind he dared anyone to try and stop him from doing such.
[[OOC; He's itty bitty and he's thinking about taking Azibo down if he tries anything. xD Anyone else see the reckless bravery in that?]]

Azibo snorted. "Scarce is i think too kind of a word. Whatever was here before seems to have run everything off. One can hardly even find a field mouse's tracks."
Eying Sparra, the massive mane and head cocked to the side to get a better look. If he didn't know any better, he'd swear she looked almost like a fox in colouring, but never mind about that. Moving into the shade of one of the nearby bushes, he plopped down with a huge sigh that startled dust and twigs in front of him.
" To tell you the truth, i'm almost glad to have run into you. Even if you are encumbered by so many cubs. We can perhaps have more success as two than as one separately." He made it sound very passive and inviting. Lions liked to hunt together, and their chances went up significantly when they did. Plus, he may earn some trust if they did come back with food.

She smelled no others on him or on the air. He was alone and if hunting together, she had a better chance of making sure he stayed away from the cubs, instead of her wandering on her own in search of said prey. She tried to reason this with herself in an attempt to ignore the fact that having a hunting partner really did appeal to her.
"We would certainly have the more upper paw over whatever prey remains." She agreed, but skirted around coming out and saying so directly.
OOC: Itty bitty kitty, that is reckless bravery! -snugs Xesni and is mauled by Sparra-

Smiling, Azibo got up and stretched a bit, and padded a little toward the lioness. Making sure to get a good scent of her for while they were hunting, he cocked his head and motioned onward. "Shall we then?"

Xesni snarled, lowering himself to the ground behind the tall dried out grass. That Azibo guy was getting closer to Sparra, and he didn't like it. He was a cub, yes; but he wasn't quick to trust anyone, either. To him Azibo was, and would be until he proved otherwise, a threat to his small pride. A low, rumbling growl roiled up from is throat as his eyes centered on the larger male. He watched his paws, waiting for them to give the faintest sign of an upcoming attack.

Sparra inhaled, catching the stone furred male's scent before nodding her head. "Yes... Though I doubt we shall find much more than a mouse or two." She padded forward and lifted her maw high as she scented for prey.
