Mivi surprised What is your name? Is it the tones that makes it hard to pronounce? I'd like to know a little about Vietnamese... I'll go googling now. ^^ My constant paranoia makes it so I can't post it up here on the internet forum. PM me, however, and I'll tell you.
Yes. I suppose it is the tones that makes it hard to pronounce. It's always the stupid tones...
I suggest a trade. Teach me Swedish, and I'll teach you the little Vietnamese I know. Of course, I mostly know talking so...that might not work out unless you have a microphone. We can even discuss Japanese together! (Yes, I did read that YIM/AIM/MSN thread thingy on the main page.)

I heard Vietnamese when I was at something special for Catholicism. I can't remember what it was, but it was one thing that got me into learning languages. The only problem I have with learning any language is grammar. Those of you who speak fluently, can you teach me some? I don't know any at all right now, and my library sucks on language books (can't find a single thing on grammar), but learn volcabulary quickly. Very quickly. mrgreen

Vietnamese grammar is very wierd but it's not that hard as it kind of follows the same stuff as english. One complicated thing about Vietnamese is calling people by their appropriate titles depending on their relationship to you. Some of it's abit complicated and you have to get it right.
(I'm typing without accents because it takes to long and I'm not used to it.) Basics
Chao hi
Toi ten la... My name is...
Ban co khoe khong? Friend has health? (as in, how are you?)
Cam on Thank you
Xin loi Sorry

I seemed to accidentally get thrust into learning Vietnamese. xd
Free lessons seem to make that kind of stuff happen to me...
