Cada looked up then back to Sable with a jerky smile. Still a bit nervous of Mr. Happy's whereabouts. "Ah... I'm Cadaver... or Cada doesn't matter." He let out in a rush heading for the ladder. "I'll go up first..."

Sable nodded, This boy was a little... no, a lot scared, and not just for "mr. Happy" she was betting. She watched him go up the ladder and immediately followed. She wanted to bathe and change the second she hit the surface. Sure, down in the sewers it was ok to be a mess, it was fun even, but where people could see you it was slightly embarrassing. "Do you see him?" she asked Cada who had gotten up here before her. With any luck he wouldn't and they could go back into the sewers.

Quickly Cada looked around seeing nothing though for a moment he moved forward and found Mr. Happy's top hat. "Ah! It's his hat!" He exclaimed snagging hold of the hat closely. Looking around more he couldn't see his toy and quickly assumed the hat either fell off when they slipped over the side or someone had snatched up the toy when he had fallen. Sniffling he tried not to cry but being a brat it wasn't easy for Cada as he wiped at stray tears trying to think of something. "He must have fallen with me... but..." looking at the hole he shivered. "I don't know..." He was confused. Terrified of losing his toy but more terrified of the dark scary place his options were slim at best.

This boy really was fragile. Sable rolled her eyes "The current isn't that fast he couldn't have gotten far!" she called up, "He's a bear right? I'll find him!" She moved her hands to the side bars instead of the vertical ones and rebounded as she opened her palms, causing her to glide back down the ladder into the murk below.
She was already a mess so kneeling down in the muck wasn't a big deal as she fished around for the bear.
Then she saw it. It must have been a lucky bear for it fell on an island of sorts, she stood up and wiped her hands on her dress, feeling that the boy might not want his toy messy. she picked it up and went over to the ladder to climb up to show him. It was a bear. As far as Sable was concerned, it thus was the right bear.
"Is this is?" She held it up to show the boy.

"Ah!" At seeing the toy he quickly snatched it from Sable's grasp dusting it off as best he could considering it was covered in slug from below. They both were which was to be expected. "It's him... he's okay." He beamed realizing Mr. Happy's top hat had fallen. That didn't matter he had plenty at home to give the toy so long as he had Mr. Happy all was well in the world. He quickly reached out to help Sable to her feet before diving at her with a delightful hug. "Thank you so much!" He squeezed around her waist gleefully a bright smile on his dark face. "I thought he was lost for good."

"you're welcome..." she looked at the overly happy boy, "I guess..." She decided it was odd not to hug the boy who was hugging her so she hugged him back lightly and then moved to release the hug.
"Well we are both now messy, so" she looked at the grime that had deposited itself in her clothes, her hair, her skin... and she even felt some in her wings..."I at least need to head home to clean up." She smiled at the boy, "It was nice meeting you Cada. See you around some time?" She asked before waving and running home.
She did need to get clean before /she/ saw her.
