I've had so many people tell me I was born in the wrong decade.

I just go around saying that myself. XD

And on a side note the in the crapper of an economy America calls its own apparently also gives out rebates to dependents such as myself. XD Granted 300 dollars is only barely enough to get me one way to the UK from Boston but still its a possible start....

@ King of Fiji: Come on, the economy in America isn't that blown to pieces. Sure, it's on its way to being in a terrible state, and you can bet that 20 years from now it probably will be rather hideous, but it's not like we're all carting 85 wheelbarrows of 100 dollar bills to the supermarket so we can buy moldy loaves of bread to share among our six starving children or something.

@ Queen_Zeppelin69: I've felt like that fairly often, too, though I've never had someone walk up to me and say it. Then again, I'm not obsessive about classic rock in general--just Queen, and a few bands like Jethro Tull, Yes, and The Who on the side. And I'm also into, er, modern music as well...*shifty eyes*

@ the thread in general: But yes, I agree that it is rather disappointing for us American Queen fans that the new tour is only going on in Europe... rolleyes Ah, well. At least there's still the upcoming studio album to look forward to, right? BTW, I'm not sure if anyone here cares, but this thread has given me an idea for a story, involving a few teenage Queen fans who come up with this crazy-a** plot to stow away to Europe and see Queen, despite the fact that they are both broke and in the U.S. It'll probably be set in the '70s, though, since that's the era of Queen that I'm the most fond of.

Involved in the crazy-a** plot undertaken by the characters, or involved in writing the fic? question Either way, thanks for the compliment. mrgreen

I've recently made it my goal to see as many old school rock bands as possible.....because when the old bands are gone all we have left are the new bands.....who will in turn be the old bands once again.....its a vicious cycle....

Yeah-I realized that a few months ago...when we're like, older parents (50s/60s) We'll be listening to music two generations before our kids'. weird...I'm gonna convert my kids to Queenism

Older parents.
That's implying that we'll all have children.
I will never have children. If my mental state ever allows for children, I'll be adopting.
But.. if I do adopt, I will make sure to expose my children to Queen. 3nodding

Yeah...it's funny how all of a sudden people of our generation are listening to old bands. I mean, as far as I know that hasn't happened before in music history...in America, at least.

Anywho, I don't think us classic-rock listening peoples will be considered weird, because if there really are a lot of people around our age (early teens to early twenties) who listen to old music. Probably we'll be completely within the realm of (as much as it pains me to use the word) normalcy. My prediction: ten years from now, when our generation is out making the music instead of just listening to it, there's going to be an explosion of glorious, classic rock-influenced musical madness. And it's going to be huge.

Oh, and Queen_Zeppelin's comment cracked me up. Queenism...I wonder what sort of religion that would be? Would there be a huge temple with Queen posters and framed albums adorning the walls, and a gilded statue of Freddie at Live Aid in the middle or something? *envisions*
