Last Life in the Universe is my favorite film.
It's mainly in Thai and English but it stars one of my favorite Japanese actors, Tadanobu Asano. Japanese director Takashi Miike also makes a cameo appearance in the film as a yakuza boss.
The Taste of Tea is another favorite.

And of course Akira Kurosawa's classics; High and Low, Rashomon, Throne of Blood, Seven Samurai...
