I am only in 7th (I feal so young sweatdrop ) Where I live they hold dances at our school! From what I have heard they are bad and no one dances. Is it like that at church dances?
All depends on where you live to determine that. The age group has an effect on it too. For instance; 13 year olds are less likely to dance then the 17 and 18 year olds. In some areas more 15 year olds dance then others.

I think almost any dance is over-rated. Depends on where you live. Some places do not allow vulgar language to be played at school-related activities. Due to the Parental Advisory laws in the music industry. Since students go to those dances are are not of appropriate age to be purchasing those albums from record stores.

eek I like how you bolded my name and gave it, its own special line.

No way, church dances are awesome. At our stake's dances practicaly EVERYONE dances. Even I dance sweatdrop , and I'm not even outgoing. All that aside, church dances are really what one make out of them 3nodding .

Cool thanks for the information! biggrin I cant wait until I can go to a Church dance. However our stake only hold two or three a year sweatdrop

crying I know I said stuff about loving school earlier, but the truth is, I HATE it! I don't want to have to go back tomorrow, and it will only be the second day. I have almost no friends. I eat lunch pretty much alone. I am the epitome of a high school loser. I can't stand it! I mean, I'm not asking to be homecoming royalty or anything, I just don't have friends! There are almost no LDS people at the high school (well, active ones), and two dateable LDS boys, but one is like my brother, and the other doesn't notice me. I just sit there being silent because I never know what to say to people. All the people in two of my classes in a row are the punk rock, 3 eyeborw piercings, blue hair type, and i am not that type at all. I just don't have any non-academic reasons to go. It's hell. I hate it, hate it HATE IT! I never want to go back again.

I've just been ranting like a toddler, but I need some major consoling right now. They always say that life gets better, but what do you do in the meantime? Out here, there is nothing worth going to high school for, save the credits alone. It all just sucks. Lots of adults from the ward thought I was going in to my senior year...To bad...then I could move sooner.

Yeah, I did that alot. Avoid the head office at all cost, but learn every short cut possible, esp. to bathrooms(ie, if the teachers don't care, go through their lounge to get to the otherside of the building. People did that alot at my school's english department).
Next thing, learn exactly what club is having free meals. You might get lucky. mrgreen
Look in all vending machines for cash, and on the ground. People loose alot of cash on the ground(found a twenty once $_$).
Let's see... what else.... Oh, get on good terms with the teacher. It may not help your grade, but it will make it so you'll get more food, a good joke or two, and make the class much more fun. Plus, you could get the whole class a free pizza party.

As a senior, I would have to say my best advice would be (I am not sure how other school's bell systems work, but we have a two-minute warning to get to class each passing period) to get to class before the warning bell, especially if your school is prone to large crowds at the two-minute warning.

Also note that if you happen to be one of those people who loves to talk to their friends in the hallway before class, kindly move aside and leave room for others to walk around (it seems like common sense, but common sense is aparrently uncommon around here). You are less likely to be stomped to death when the two-minute bell rings and everyone rushes to get to class. (As Harls likes to put it: "If you must be slow on purpose, move aside and make way for the speed demons.")

My only other advice is to find a few good (member and non) friends, ones who will respect your beliefs and standards (I have some non-member friends who have lowered their vulgar language and discussions on certain subjects in my presence), and stay with them. Try to have/make a friend in every class, especially if the class is dull or otherwise unenjoyable. It makes the semester go much faster, and as for non-member friends---I have had a few missionary opportunities; you might get some too.

As a Junior...(I'm so proud of myself for making it, and apologize for the cliches I'm about to give) is to always try to be yourself, and be an example to those around you. Share the gospel! It makes my day go better...um, Seminary is important, especially if you have a good teacher, and get plenty of sleep. I mean in 20 years, or maybe in just a few it will not matter if you got a 92 or a 95 or something...It really wont!!!

It's only too true. Seriously, people love to slow down and stand in the MIDDLE OF THE HALLWAY when everyone else just wants to get to class!

As far as advice...know how to weave around people in the halls. It saves more time than waiting for people to move aside. And let the world know who you are. Remember that popularity lasts only until Yearbook Day.

Too late. The principle knows me because he was my baseball coach and all the teachers that coach sports know me because my dad was the sports editor for the local newspaper and a good amount of other teachers and office people know me because my sister had them when she went to high school. It sucks that all of them expect so much of me all the time.

I am a senior this year and I have learned that trying your hardest all the time is the best thing to do, no matter how hard, boring, or confusing a class might be because in the end, you end up having good habits that might help you out later in life.
