"Sometimes...to be lost is simply to be waiting to be found" He said comfortingly. "Or to find something that you would not find in a more familiar place, and one doses not gain age wihtout having once been young." He nodded. "You should absolutely enjoy your youth while it is your own." He lifted his head a moment and perked his ears as they walked before looking back to her.
"And you already show wisdom..."

"I do enjoy it. I have lots of fun with my brothers and my mother and father... And my friends." She nodded slowly, pausing for a moment to look up at the light filtering down through the trees before glancing at the stallion again. "Do you really think so?"
She listened for a moment before heading in the direction of the few small sounds she heard, wondering if any of them belonged to her wandering child. "Zingela!" She let her voice ring out, keeping her tones light with a trace of laughter. "Come out, come out wherever you are..."

"I do..." he nodded and then perked once more... "Listen... " he said softly... "Your ears are younger... do you hear?"
He asked and looked down at her, his eyes glittering in the filtered light that dappled them now. The air growing less heavy, more familiar and somehow more open, like a breath released from being held.

"I hear..." She closed her eyes so that she could listen, tilting her head towards the gentle breeze. "... My mother." She smiled, eyes opening so that she could look up to the stallion that she'd befriended. "Would you like to meet my mother, Fauno?"

He glancd up towards where the Mare was calling to her lost colt and then back to her, "I could not presume, to meet a queen, it was honor enough to meet the Princess of my home... " He smiled.

She resisted the urge to bolt towards the sound of her mother's voice as her name was carried to her ears by the breeze again. "Okay..." She managed to keep from pouting as she turned her attention back towards the path. "... If I follow this path into the Deep Dark Woods... Will I see you again?"

"Princess... that is entierly up to you..." He said with another bow. "Time and your hooves and heart will guide you. I am sure, you could find your way..." He nodded.

She pondered that for a moment before trotting away from him and towards her mother, glancing back after a moment. "Once I'm all grown up... I'll come find you again... So I'll know my way and I won't be lost." She flashed him a bright smile before turning back to the path.
"Mother! I'm right here!" Her wings twittered as she ran into the mare, butting her head lightly against her mother's legs.
"Silly little bug." She chuckled, leaning down to brush her cheek against her daughter's. "Come on... Let's go home... And you can tell me all about your adventure."

"I look forward to that day..." he said, as much to the wind as to the foal, whom was on her way to meet her mother. "Princess of the Deep Woods...." And like a half remembered dream, he disapeared into the heart of the forest amid the whispering leaves and branches.
