Tony would have been appalled at the fact that Josh put such a thought into his son's head. The little thing seemed to come up with enough on its own and h really would protest that the kid didn't need anything else floating around in his head. And what with the memory and rather photographical abilities Sheldon had mixed in with his general curiosity, well he was hard enough to keep out of trouble, and completely silent.

The kit paused in his steps, pulling his head back for a moment, before returning the exact same glare to Josh. "
Go home?" he seemed to mull over the concept for a while, tails coiling around his stubby little legs. "Can't open the door."

He wasn't making up some reason as to why he couldn't stop following the other male around. He was seriously too small to actually reach the handle of the front door, and only really got out of the house when he was following his father or his father pushed him outside for making a mess inside, while trying to help 'keep the house clean'.

"Stop that, you parrot." Josh was starting to see how much the kid got on his father's nerves. Kids. There never seemed to be a nice un-annoying one. They never existed, in his reality, at least.

He sighed. "Fineeee." Can't open the door eh? They should make kitsu-flaps in doors. Maybe he should bring that up to Aurum the next time he saw her. It was until he reached the door when he realised he still hadn't grasped how to use his paws properly, especially to turn a doorknob.

How in the world did thumbless creatures survive? "Well, this is nice." He mumbled to himself, then turned back to the kid. "Any idea when your dad will be back?" Or they could always wait for someone else to open the door...the idea of waiting with a kid was horrendous, though.

Sheldon blinked, wondering as to what Josh ment when he had called him a parrot. The tiny kit certainly didn't get it. How exactly was he like a parrot? He didn't have feathers or a beak, and he didn't even squak, so why was he being reffered to as one? "Parrot?" he questioned, beady eyes starting at the male.

Had the doors had doorknobs or some other kind of special handle? Sheldon wouldn't have known, because he simply did not know what a doorknob was. He was still quite young and at the moment he didn't really need to know what a doorknob was, and so went on through his life thusfar, blissfully unware. All the tiny male knew, was that he was unable to open the door to his house, because of his current size. When he was older, stronger, then perhaps he'd be able to, but for now he'd just stick with whoever his father left him with.

"
No?" he spoke with a slight tilt of his head. How ever would he know such things? Certainly from watching daddy work and getting to learn the exact time the skull-faced merc took to do things, well one would have thought that perhaps the kit would have been able to at least guess. But Sheldon had no sense of time, at least not yet.

"Yes, parrot. You know, those feathery creatures that imitate people all the time? Yeah, you're one." He paused, noticing the kit's stare on him and sighed. "Well, if you don't want to be called one, stop imitating people. Me, at least." This was why he was never good with kids.

"Damn." Josh muttered. "Well, why don't you go off and...find someone your age to play with? There's lots of other kitsus in this house." Other kitsusagis that would bother with Sheldon, he was sure. Emo boy seemed to like kids enough...but he didn't live here, right? Always popping in and out.

Josh didn't need to explain what a parrot was. He knew that. They were feathery birds, big birds...though all birds seemed big. Birds, not creatures. Weren't creatures furry with long ears and spindly tails? And their arms were often longer then their legs. Or was that simply a word. Yes, that must have been meant as the word and not as the creature creatures.

"
Parrots imitate? I don't imitate." He copied. That was an entierly different thing. And most definately not imitating. If you clearly looked at it, the words were very different, and thus were not the same. And if the words were not the same then he was oviously not imitating anyone and only simply copying them. HUGE difference.

Sheldon shook his head, his brown hair bouncing around in the air with each shake. "
Not imitating you. No."

Could he go off and find someone his age to play with? Could he? No, certainly not. He had been left with Josh and he was not about to leave the space marshal without very good reason. "
But I can't. I have to stay here. Pops left me with you." he nodded, giving his pale purple tiped tail a wag.

"Well, you do, somewhat." Josh countered, even as Fluffy reluctantly agreed with a robotic chirp. Ignoring the little guardian on his tails, he glared at Sheldon. "Good, parrot. Then don't."

The only reason why he kept calling the kid "parrot" was that he didn't know his name. Josh knew how irritating nicknames were, like the one Deadpool had given him. Not that he would care much for a kid's feelings, really.

"Well, aren't you the obedient little son." He grumbled, sarcasm injected into his tone. What to do, what to do? He really didn't want the kid around him...hmmm...

A mischievous glint appeared in his eye. "Hey. You like to play hide and seek?"

He did, somewhat? What was that supposed to mean? He was quite certain that he did not imitate. As he had clearly ruled out the fact in his little head, that copying and imitating were no where near the same thing. He was not going to try and go over it again, as he was sure he'd end up with the same thought as before.

Little Sheldon nodded, not even seeming to take note of the 'parrot' nickname that Josh was giving him. It never occured to him that he was supposed to tell other's his name and his father simply refered to him as Squirt, so really another name was not about to bother him. He could have been called about anything under the sun and chances were he would not mind at all, and really his name was no better then some of the nicknames.

Sheldon Sniper Toazt Masters.

It hadn't been Tony that named him. No, the Taskmaster's mind didn't think up such oddities. He was sensable, and far from the kind of person that would have added in that Sniper Toazt bit. What had probably happened was Tony had simply called the kid Sheldon as the kid had to have an actual name, and then the little thing had added in the rest. Giving itself a middle name (if you could call it so) and taking his father's most commonly used last name.

"
Very very." he spoke. He was very obedient (as far as he was aware), and if his pops left him with someone or told him not to do something then he'd listen. Most of the time.

Sheldon tilted his head to the side, as a strange look had washed over Josh's face. Oh he wanted to copy that. He wanted to make that look too, but it was his question that seemed to suck away the kit's attention. "
What's hide and seek? Hidin' and seekin'? What's seekin'?" The kit really didn't have any friends, and Taskmaster was far from the kind of person that would play with a child (unless he was getting paid a ton of money do to so, a TON of money).

While Sheldon did not imitate, he irritated. Or maybe it was because Josh didn't particularly like kids and squee over how cute they were. Anyway, no self-respecting guy would do so, in Josh's opinion.

Of course Josh didn't bother to ask a kid for his name. It wasn't as if he hoped to see the kid again, and go about calling Sheldon to find him. Oh no. He would be content if this meeting was their first and last.

"Of all kids, I'm stuck with the obedient one." He grumbled. "Don't all kids like to rebel?" He had done so, against his father.

"You know, when you hide in a place. Then the seeker has to go find the one who's hiding." Either way, he would be able to escape from the kid. Mentally, he congratulated himself for thinking of the game.

Of course, there was always the possibility of it going awry.

Irritation was something that Sheldon seemed to do quite well. He ahdn't met many, but those that he had met, had found themselves in a bit of a predicament. A kit who would often just sit and stare at you, mimicing your facial expressions and often repeating words that you had said began to get on your nerves after a few minutes. And it became far from cute very early on.

Ears perked as Josh spoke of rebeling. Oh no you didn't do such things. That got you into trouble didn't it? And didn't too much trouble mean you'd get into bad things like gangs and violence and possibly jail? Perhaps the little kit had watched too many things on television, and it had drilled it into his mind that you were supposed to listen otherwise bad things could happen. Only the bad guys never ever listened. And they always ended up dead or in jail. The hero always won, and they listened to people. He liked that. And so he had taken it upon himself to listen as best he could.

"
But isn' that bad? Bad things happen. Bad bad bad." He gave Josh a very confident nod. His tails twitched slightly, as he ploped back onto his haunches.

So Hide & Seek had to do with someone hiding and the other person trying to find them? That did sound fun. In fact it sounded very fun. But Sheldon showed no outer signs of excitement. No, Pops almost always had that same look on his face, and he always remained calm....Most of the time anyways. And he was the one Sheldon copied most (for ovious reasons). "
We play?" he questioned, rubbing his nose with a white paw.

Slowly he got up and pressed a paw against Josh's arm. "
Tag! You'r it!" You were supposed to say those kinds of things with all these games weren't you?

"Rebelling isn't bad, per se. Hey, I rebelled all the time against my dad, and I was a space marshal in training. So to him, I probably seemed like a bad guy, but I was beating up the bad guys anyway." Josh a villian? Hah. He had fought and captured many evil space aliens in his time in training. But he was a bad boy, yes. The rebel with a dad for a principal. "Rebelling against people are different. It's just some harmless pranks." Playing pranks were fun, anyway. Like that huge mud balloon he had rigged up on the library doors for Bobby...and fell on his dad instead.

That expression Principal Kirkpatrick had was hilarious though.

Of course, he didn't mention the punishments got if the prankster got caught. Why should he? Avoiding the blame was part of the fun, anyway.

"Ah well, me? No...I meant.." He trailed off as Sheldon tagged him. Seriously? Play tag with the kid? "I meant...Fluffy! Yeah, tag little guy! Go play with the parrot." He tapped the guardian lightly on the shoulder, grinning. "Oh come on, you always liked to play with Brett."

Space Marshal in training. Words that didn't all register with the little kit, but beating up the bad guys was something that clicked right away. "So you'r like a hero?!" Sheldon gasped, eyes growing wide. Hero's were so cool, saving people and doing good, and stoping people from breaking the law. Always in it for others before themselves. Yes true heroes were those few people you idolized.

The young Masters flicked his tails slowly, thinking it all over. "
Rebellin' is....pullin' pranks. -Like the puppy on th' TV that put a rope across the door bottom to trip this one guy into the pool?" It didn't sound all that good. Weren't pranks mean things? Even if on the TV they did provide many laughs and giggles. Weren't the people that got pranked usually mad? "Pranks are....goood?"

Things were silent with the kit, he wasn't all that sure what to do or say.

Sheldon's gaze shifted to Fluffy when Josh had mentioned that he ment that he was to play with the little thing (though the kit was rather small himself). Oh, well he could do that. Rather swiftly (actually much faster then anyone would have thought the kit was capable of moving) the brown-haired kit ran in circles around the two, waiting for the guardian to do something.
PostPosted: Mon Jun 16, 2008 6:52 am

"Kind of, yeah." He grinned. A hero? He'd never really thought about it, but it sounded nice. Really nice. They had been saving the galaxy a lot. That counted as being a hero, right? Joshua Kirkpatrick, Space Marshal, and Hero. Ah, that didn't sound too bad.

"Yeah, kinda. That's like a beginner's prank though. Buuut, it's different if you put an invisible laser there! Or an invisible rope. There's always the weird hocus pocus around."

"It's well..." He scratched the back of his head awkwardly. "Good in a way. If you're using it on the right people, of course."

The guardian squeaked as the kit started to circle it, looking up at Josh with wide eyes. Oh well, it'd play along for now. If only it was its original size...

He moved forward to tap the kit lightly on the paw, watching Sheldon warily for his reaction.

A hero. Perhaps if Sheldon knew Josh well enough he would have used another term (or then again he might not have). And as he didn't a rather clear picture was being painted in his head. This guy beat the bad guys, just like the good guys on the TV.

And you listened to heroes.

Brown bangs floped down into the kit's face as he canted his head. A beginner's prank. Invisible lazers and ropes were something better to be used in such a prank, or at least that's what Josh thought. "
So it's good t' prank only the bad guys then?" another question. And if tripping was just a beginner's prank then what was an expert's one? If Sheldon was ever going to prank someone he'd certainly think back to this conversation.

But that was a big IF.

As Fluffy moved towards him, he jumped back. His reflexes were excellent, and if one didn't know much about his father then such an act would have been rather surprising.
PostPosted: Wed Jun 18, 2008 10:40 pm

"Well yeah, of course!" Then as an afterthought, he added. "And those stuck up people that piss you off, of course. They're usually an exception."

The ultrapet squeaked again, tilting its head curiously at the kit. Josh, on the other hand, didn't seem as surprised. To him, kids were hyper, had lots of energy and were very difficult to catch. Fluffy shrugged then moved swiftly towards Sheldon. The robotic guardian himself was quite agile as well.

A tiny white paw raised, rubbing the kit's nose. So a hero pranked the bad guys and taught them the law shouldn't be broken, all before sending them to jail of course. But you seemed to also pull pranks on the stuck up people too, to loosen them up a bit maybe? He wasn't sure. People that... "No one's ever done that t' me." in fact he nevered even been mad before.

Perhaps a result to the unknown Nobody blood flowing in his veins.

Sheldon was quite good a mimicing emotions however, and he was a very very good actor, so much even he didn't really know when he was acting. Perhaps as he grew he'd meet someone that would tick him off, perhaps not. It was hard to call, and with the kit's copy-cat personality it was more likely that he'd be the one to tick the other person off, and not the other way around. Even the bad guys didn't make him mad. They only made him feel as though they should not be doing what they were doing to make them be the 'bad guys'.

His body lowered, tiny undeveloped musles tensing as he watched the movements of the guardian. There was a certain flow to them, and like just about everything else the kit wanted to copy it, but not yet. His tails flailed about, as he pressed his ears back, pushing himself off the ground and leaping at poor Fluffy. Maybe Sheldon didn't quite grasp the concept of tag, even if it was him that had started that pirticular game, or perhaps he was simply bored of it already. Though how a kit that spent mindless hours watching TV...well.
