Chane stepped in the elevator and pressed the button for his floor. As soon as the doors started closing he reached into his shirt and rubbed his shoulder. Most of the heat was coming from his arm. For whatever reason it had been heating up more then normal recently. He made a mental note to ask about it at the next opportunity.

Seeing the elevator door closing, she cursed and sped up. "Goddamn, shoulda been a greyhound," she muttered. "Chane!" Calling his name, she tried to get his attention, waving the keys as she scurried after him.

Chane hit the button to open the elevator doors just in time. In his rush he forgot to pull his jacket back over his exposed shoulder. As the doors slowly slid open he watched the panting girl with a confused expression on his face, "What's wrong?"

Finally reaching him, she leaned against the door, panting. "You..r ke..ys." Holding them out, she took a deep breath and stood. "You dropped them..." Spotting his shoulder, she trailed off. "Hey-is your arm metal?" Surprised at the sight, she had let her bluntness get the better of her and asked flat out.

He stared at her wide eyed for a moment before he thought to pull his jacket up over his arm, "No! I mean..." He fell silent. After only a moment longer the elevator doors started closing again. He put his false arm out to stop it, and it make a deep thunk on contact. He sighed, "Get in."

Her eyes widened more at his reaction, then by the thunk his arm made. She hadn't meant to be offensive, she had just been surprised, was all. Looking sheepish, she slipped in between the doors, trying to think of some way to cover.

He let the doors close completely before he ventured to speak again. "I spent most my childhood in a hospital. Partly because my father is a doctor, must mostly because of the accident. This eye is glass," He pointed to his right eye. "That much should be obvious though. I had it painted black and white custom so people wouldn't have to ask." He held out his hand, still refusing to look her in the eye, "Could I have my keys please?" Ding! The elevator doors slid open.

"Accident..?" She blinked, but didn't press further. Now that she looked closer, she noticed the eye did look different. Frowning because of the change in his attitude, she held out the keys, dropping them into his hand. "Chane.. It doesn't bother me that your arm is metal. I was just surprised, that's all." Reaching for her tail, she held it in her hands, smoothing the fur as she looked at him somewhat anxiously. Her cheeks were a little red. He probably didn't care what she thought anyway. Cringing inwardly, she moved to duck out of the elevator.

Chane nodded, "Just follow me... quietly, ok?" He didn't say a word as he lead her down the hall toward his room. He unlocked the door and gestured for her to go in first.

Nodding she slunk down the hall after him like she had done something wrong. Glancing up at him, she ducked into the room.

He closed the door, "You say it doesn't bother you, but you'll never look at me the same again." He gestured to the pillows laid out beneath the book case and told her to make herself comfortable. He waited until she was settling down and then stepped behind a curtain. When he reemerged he was wearing a thin blue shirt. His entire right arm was gone. The sleeve had been rolled up to his shoulder and pinned in place with a safety pin. "It was overheating. Just please, promise me you won't tell anyone?"

She took a seat as he had suggested, looking up at him as he re-entered. Her eyes were on the arm indeed, but mostly because she was curious. "I won't," she murmured before flicking her gaze up to him. "Chane.. Tell me. Why do you think this is going to change my opinion of you? You're still the same person, aren't you?"

"If you're still thinking of me the same way as when we met, you're the first," He sighed. "Do you want something to drink?"

She nodded. "I'd like that." Watching him as he moved about, she often found herself looking at his lack of arm. She honestly didn't think any different of him, he was still a fully functional being and still the same as she had met him. So what if one of his limbs was metal? Her looking at it was really, 100% out of curiosity. "Is it heavy?" she asked, again without really thinking.

Chane looked over at her and smiled uncomfortably, "Can't feel it at all." He waved his good hand though the space where his right arm would normally be. He reached past Sasha and pulled what looked to be a row of books off the shelf. Upon closer inspection it turned out to be a cover for a secret hiding place. "My father doesn't approve of me drinking," He explained. "It's just supposed to be a compartment for alcohol but I haven't got everything sorted out yet and all my regular drinks are tucked away in here as well. Take whatever you want. It's all warm though. Sorry, but I've got no ice."
