"So you got lost," Damaris said with a bit of a laugh, "I can show you the way back if you don't mind waiting a while, I was planning on drawing the sunset." Damaris explained finishing with her hair and handing Valens back his shirt, "Thanks." She said feeling slightly guilty for getting his shirt sopping wet.

"I brought some food, if you and Ellie are hungry." Damaris said.

Red quickly interjected with a grunt from his cloth where he was guarding his food that he was eating, taking his sweet time.

"Oh hush Red, I don't mean yours anyway." She said sticking her tounge out at him.

Red grunted again as if to say 'darn straight not taking mine'.

He nodded his head, "Ahh... hahaha, yeah. I got lost." He couldn't help but laught because she had understood so easily that he'd gotten lost from his description, "I don't mind waiting at all and the help is very appreciated."

His eyes widened in delight, "Oooo, food? Really? That would be great." He said with a rapid nod of his head. He hoped he didn't seem to eager but they'd been without food for a while now so the prospect of being fed was a great one.

Ellie gave a smile and a nod of her head in thanks for the offer of food. Even more over she was grateful to the girl for the offer of leading them out of the woods. She felt a bit silly herself, she had always prided herself on being able to keep an eye on her boy and keep him from getting to terribly lost. Today she'd failed at her job.

"Here you go," Damaris said grabbing a brown paper bag from the side of the tree stump, "You and Ellie can have it, I'm not really hungry." She said, half the time her and Red came to the pond she ended up giving the lunch she packed to her dragon anyhow.

"It's pretty cloudy today." Damaris stated staring up at the sky with a frown, the clouds looked to be getting more dense, she hoped it wasn't going to rain.

Valens tail started to swish as he took the bag, opening it up to see what was within. The contents were separated into two parts, what Valens would eat and everything else. The only downside to his vegetarian diet was that it could be a pain to find food at some places when he went out on his own.

"Here Ellie, now say thank you to Damaris." He said as he held out some of the food to the Silver dragon.

She rose up to her feet and trotted over, taking the food from her boys hands with her front feet, and sat down to eat it. She gave a happy, purring sound before turning to Damaris, "Thank you." She said to the kind and very generous girl.

Valens tilted his head back as he chewed, "Mmmm... Hmm. I guess that it does." He said. It was on the tip of his tongue to tell her that at least she didn't have to worry about the rain since she was already damp but he held in the thought, though barely. He didn't know if she would think it as funny as he did. Speaking of wet... He lifted his shirt, squeezed it out before pulling it back on.

Damaris continued to look up at the sky as it steadily got darker and darker. After about ten minutes had passed the sun was almost completely blotted out.

"It looks like there's a storm coming..." Damaris said with a frown, as if on cue, a raindrop hit her on the forehead. She looked slightly more worried than the normal person would about there being something so simple as a thunder storm. It didn't take long for the rain fall to become steady.

Damaris snatched her sketch book and pencils off of the ground and got up from the stump, "There's a cave in a hill, not far from here, we can go there until it stops." She said over the rain fall.

Red looked down right irked. Disgusting water. He thought irritably as he shoved what ever food he hadn't eaten into the basket and picked it up in his mouth before trotting over to the others.

Valens watched in surprised and a bit of fascination as the storm rolled in and smothered out the bright sun that they had been enjoying. He hopped to his feet as it started to rain on them, "Uh-oh." He murmured, not having thought that the rain would come on so quickly. He turned to look in the direction she'd indicated, "Alright, sounds like a good idea. Come on Ellie!"

Even as he called her the Silver didn't seem to be paying to much attention to him. Instead she had risen up on her hind legs, head tilting to face the storm, and flapped her wings in a delighted way. She even had her tail wagging happily and she was making happy sounds, "Oh, this is wonderful." She purred in Draconic.

Valens chuckled, he should have known. He'd known that Silver dragons were fans of the rain, they even smelled of the rain naturally. So while he was all for heading for the cave with Damaris and Red he was sure that she would continue to play with the rain until she tired herself out.

Red scoffed when he was the silver dragons fascination with the rain. The blue dragon could hardly see how something so...wet, would interest anyone. He was anxious to get out of the rain and wasted no time waiting for the others as he headed towards the cave.

"It's over this way." Damaris instructed as she led Valens off into a line of trees. Past the trees there was a slight clearing with a large hill leering down at them. On the side of it's face was a hole that led in and down. It looked like maybe it had been a dragon's layer in long years past for the cave and tunnel in the hill were not naturally made.

"In here." She instructed as she ducked into the cave where Red was already holing himself up.

"If it starts to flash lightning you have to come in the cave too!" Valens called over to Ellie before quickly following after Damaris. He didn't want to lose sight of her because that would lead to him losing himself that much in the woods. He was happy to step inside from the rain and shook off much in the manner a dog would, "Wow! That storm came on fast, huh?" He looked out the mouth of the cave, up at the storm clouds. From what he could see they stretched pretty far. Who knew how long they might be in the cave for.

Ellie had heard her boy, was all for staying on in the rain no matter what! That was until the flash of lightning and the resounding crash of thunder that followed. It had the Silver instantly bolting into the cave for shelter. Rain was one thing, she liked it. The flashes and loud noises that went along with it were a whole other thing and not one she liked in the least.

Valens could only chuckle, patting her on the neck in a hope to sooth her, "Its alright, we will be fine in here." He turned to looking back into the cave, eyes narrowing slightly. There was a tunnel that led off to who knew where... he felt his curiosity starting to rise.

Damaris was a little farther into the cave. She had guessed that the lightning and thunder would come soon, she was just hoping that Valens wouldn't see her.

The girl was crouched down, back against the wall of the cave and her arms wrapped tightly around her knees. She closed her eyes tight and willed herself not to make a sound when the thunder rolled. Her breathing increased increased rapidly as memories flooded back into her head. She tried to push them away, but it had no effect, she still could not bring herself to toughen up.

Red hadn't even seen Damaris like this before and he was surprised to say the least. He lost all interest in his food and sat a few feet away from Damaris. He had no idea why she was afraid. There was no plausible reason to be, in his mind. He sat there staring at her for a while wondering what to do.

Valens blinked when he caught sight of the girl when a flash of lightning. His ears turned forward and he took a step forward, "Ahhh... Damaris?" Valens called, moving closer to her and knelt down in front of her. He seemed to be of the same mind as Red, unsure what was wrong as very little seemed to faze him aside from snakes and the idea of eating meat.

He reached a hand out to lay it on her shoulder, "Are you alright?" He asked of her, ears laying back.

Ellie moved slowly closer, sitting next to the blue dragon as she watched her boy. She was quiet as she allowed him to take care of Damaris though the Silver's face showed concern.

Damaris nodded her head vigorously before burrying it into her knees. A loud crack of thunder that shook the ground made Damaris give out a small shriek before she stifled it as best she could and continued to draw herself into as tight of a ball as she could.

Her mind wasn't with them, she wasn't noticing Valens, Red or Ellie much. Her mind was remembering a wet road, lots of lightning and thunder, a telephone pole, and sirens. All swirling together in her head and tormenting her. She was biting her lip, a sort of nervous habit. She didn't realize it but she bit it so hard that it was now begining to bleed.

Valens flicked his ears forwards and backwards before he quickly scooted closer to her. He wrapped his arms around the girl then, having to no regard for personal space ever in his life. Besides when things were bad hugs always made him feel better, "Its alright Damaris. I'm here, so is Ellie and your dragon its gonna be ok, the storm will pass."

He wasn't an expert in weather but Spring storms seemed to come and go pretty quickly. He could only hope this one was the same.

The car, wires on the road, smashed front end...blood, ambulence. Damaris' mind was swimming with fear and trauma from a car accident a while ago. She got like this every thunder storm but her dad had always been there for her before, but she didn't have him this time. She felt cold and alone and the memories started to consume her more and more.

Then there was a warmth. There was somebody there. She instantly thought it was A.J. before remembering where she was and who she was with. It was Valens. He wasn't standing there mocking her or scowling at her. He was trying to comfort her.

Losing all formalities and forgetting the fact that they just met, she felt comforted, and safe. "...thank you." She mumbled quietly as she returned to reality and sat there waiting for the storm to eventually pass, which it soon would.

The horse boy gave a little smile, leaning his head over against hers and kept his arms around her. It seemed to have helped which made Valens very happy, he wasn't to good with words, wasn't sure what to say but it would seem that hugs were better then words. He glanced towards the entrance to the cave, watching the storm.

There was still rain, still wind, but at least the loudest parts of the storm seemed to be starting to become fewer and farther between at least. Until the storm passed though he would do his best to protect Damaris from the storm.

She barely knew this boy. Yet he suddenly knew something about her so very few others knew. She felt vulnerable, and frightened, but she also felt safe. Valens didn't seem the type to go running around spreading her fear. He seemed nice, very nice.

The storm passed soon enough and the sun started to break through the clouds as the storm degraded into a mist.

"Thank you." She said again not knowing what else to say. All of her walls and barriers were down when she was in that state. She wasn't sure how to act after some one other than her father had seen her like that. She was slightly embarresed but not as much as she thought she would be.
