Aru smiled as he got the second player gun.
"Oh yeah. See this little back button on the side?" He said as he held it up to show her. "That one launches grenades. You only get five per level though, so try not to waste them. They're only for giant crowds that you can't shoot down with guns alone." He explained. Once he got the signal that she was ready, he slipped the quarters into each coin slot and hit start on both sides, letting the game boot up.
The game started and an animation played of a man and a woman entering a building and going into an elevator. After a bit of dialog, all hell broke loose and the two where stuck in a hall.
What's going on? What happened to their faces? said a poorly dubbed voice as a shot of two dozen punk rockers missing their faces slammed up against a glass door. Finally, the glass broke and the zombies broke loose.
"Give em hell, Alida!" Aru cheered as he opened fire, making his best shooter pose.

Startled by the suddenness of the zombie's entrance, it took Alida a second to start firing, but she did, aiming at the closest one and pulling the trigger several times. Her aim wasn't that great, as a few shots missed, but soon it went down.
As the zombie "died" in a horrible fashion, Alida was already moving onto the next one, while worrying her lip between her teeth as she fired. She panicked a little as one got closer than she liked, and discovered that if she held the trigger down, the gun fired multiple shots.
There sure were a lot of them. She didn't think they'd have enough ammunition to take them all out... what happened when she ran out? She hoped she'd find out before it happened, but Aru was busy...

Aru's clip was the first to empty due to his straight firing. If Alida paid attention to his half of the screen, a little bubble saying "Shake to reload!" popped up. Aru then suddenly jerked the gun up and down and a clipping noise was made, and then resumed firing.
They seemed to be making their way threw a hallway and up a set of stares. Eventually, there was a cut scene. Countless zombies could be seen over a balcony in what looked to be a lobby, bumping into eachother and moaning loudly.
"Look at all of them! There's hundreds!" cried the womans voice.
"We have to go around." went the males. Suddenly there was a split screen saying weather they wanted to go up or down the stairs.
Aru pointed the gun at the box leading down the stairs and fired, before he winked to Alida.
"Trust me, this way is much better." He said, as they went into the sewer.
"Watch out for the leaches!" he said as he began firing, shooting a few before they could get to her half of the screen. As if he was protecting her.
"They're really fast."

Alida nodded, and started doing her best to take the slimy little beasties down. And fast they were, she realized, as she was having some trouble keeping up with them. She figured if Aru wasn't as good as he was, she'd have died already.
She gamely kept shooting, reloading as Aru had when she ran out, and using the trick she'd figured out with the trigger. She did wonder what would have happened if they'd gone up, and she decided she'd ask that later.

"Alright, we're about to come up to the first boss." Aru said as he popped another sludge zombie in the head. "Aim for it's tongue, that's it's weakness." Aru said, yeah, the game would explain that soon enough, but he figured he'd give warning ahead of time.
Just then a giant monster with a tongue so large it would put Venom and Jien Simmons to shame and began charging, spit and rubble flying everywhere. Aru began shooting like a mad man at the creatures tongue, while the dialog continued to play.
"Did we loose it..?"
"I think so..."
"Oh no! It's back!"

Alida jumped as the creature ran towards them, the cord stopping her from backing up more than half a step in her surprise, and began madly firing at the thing, trying to aim for the tongue as Aru had instructed.
She wasn't very good at it, though, with the way the creature moved, and he kept throwing rocks at her. When she had to stop to take the time and reload, there was one final hit, and her characters info disappeared, replaced with a countdown timer for putting in another quarter.
She frowned, biting her lip, and glanced at Aru from the corner of her eye. Was she supposed to have gotten further? She wasn't sure, and she fiddled with the gun while the time counted down towards zero.

Aru, who was busy trying not to die himself, didn't have time to rummage into his pocket and get out more quarters. When he glanced over to Alida and saw her sad expression, he took in a deep breath determined to cheer her up.
"Don't worry my comrade, I shall avenge you!!" He screamed in an overly dramatic voice, followed by a movie-esque "GRAAAAAAAH!!" as he seemingly 'opened a can of whoop a**' on the monster. He chucked a couple grenades and delivered the finishing blow, causing the monster to collapse in the sewers while an ending cinematic opened.
While the scoring screen popped up to tell them how well they did, Aru twirled the fake gun on his finger and then blew away non-existent smoke from the barrel. He then shot a wink Alida's way, playfully.

Alida wasn't really sad, she just didn't want to disappoint him. So she smiled at his antics, and applauded when he took down the vicious beastie.
She asked, 'Did we do well?' when he looked her way, adding, 'I had fun."
And she had, too. She hadn't been very good, most of the points had been scored by Aru, but she hadn't made a fool of herself. Were all video games like this? She glanced around at the others curiously.

"Yeah, we did well." He said as he pointed to the screen as a letter grade apeared on both sides of the screen. Aru had scored an 'A', while Alida got a 'C'. "That's pretty good considering your first time playing. The first time I played I got an F." he chuckled.
Aru, now tired with the game, allowed for his character to get mobbed and killed by level 2 zombies and put the gun back in it's holster. After all, he could break his previous high score some other time.
The other games where nothing like House of the Dead.. 3 pinball machines and four arcade style games. Two antique from when arcade games where first introduced, and two old games from the 80s that where tossed out of a chuckie-cheese when better, newer games came about.
"Tenshi got all these games from old arcades and stores when they weren't wanted anymore.. Accept for House of the Dead and Theater of Magic. She bought those special." he explained. After all, for anyone who knew anything about collecting pinball tables, Theater Of Magic was an old time classic and a working model could cost you anywhere from $4,500 dollars and upward.

Alida made a 'o' of surprise with her mouth. She'd done that well? Wow!
She listened to Aru's explanation with interest, and looked the games over. She took him by the hand and led him over to the game that had walking turtles fighting ninjas on the screen.
'Is it alright if we try this one? I think I've seen these before. They had a movie recently, right?' she asked.

Aru's cheeks flushed a little when Alida grabbed his hand and drug him over to the TMNT game, seeing as he was at that age where boys go girl crazy. But he shook it off when she she started talking about the TMNT movie. He began digging around in his pockets, getting two more quarts.
"Yeah, but this game is based of the old 80s cartoon rather than the new movie. It's pretty good though. It's a combat side scroller.. Kinda like the old x-men games if you ever played those." he explained, before he gave her one of the quarters and pointed to all the different colored buttons.
"Depending on which color you get decides which turtle you play. Leo is twin katanas, Raphael is sais, Donny is bo staff, and Mikey is nunchaku." He explained, although it didn't even don on him that she might not know the colors correspondence with the names.

Alida kept hold of Aru's hand as he dug in his pocket, and shook her head when he mentioned an X-men game. She knew what those were, too, from the movies, but had never played that game.
She released his hand when he gave her a quarter, and explained the different weapons. She thought for a moment, and watched as the screen played through a small opening, flashing a picture split into four sections, each with a turtle holding one of the weapons mentioned. She saw that the one with the bo staff wore purple, so she stepped up to the purple controls and put in her quarter.
She may not have known which turtle went with each color, but she was good at deducing. She smiled wide at Aru and waited for him to choose which he would play with.
Her drink sat forgotten on House of the Dead 2, slowly cooling.

Once Alida had picked her character, Aru went to the blue controllers and inserted his coin. Once the game started up he hit each button so he could remember what they all did, and set off.
"Pretty much the goal is to beat up enemies as they come to you until you get to the end of the level." he said, before he started attacking a little gray man that walked acrossed the screen. This game was much simpler in nature, but it was also fun to play for it's multi-player options.

Alida did the same, hitting buttons pretty much randomly whenever she neared one of the many guys that poured out of doors and from each side of the screen.
She eyed the flames at the bottom, but they didn't seem to hurt anyone who touched them, so she decided to ignore them. She made the purple-masked turtle follow Aru's blue-masked turtle whenever the arrow told them to "hurry."
It wasn't a very long hallway, and at the end of it, they came to a room, also filled with flames, and a woman in yellow shouting, "Help me" in a high pitched squeaky voice that would have made Alida laugh for sheer absurdity, except that she was too busy tossing around the bad guys who still kept arriving en masse.

((Looks like it's your turn to give a play by play. XD I don't remember this game to save my life accept that I loved playing it so much at Chuckie Cheese. ))
Aru continued hitting the various attack and jump buttons as he evaded and tried to kill enemies. Admittedly, Aru wasn't as great at this game as he was at House of the Dead, but at least he hadn't died yet.
"I wonder if I'm the only one who thinks it's odd one woman plays the role of the semi-love interest for four male characters." Aru said passively as he hit buttons. Indeed, that was not a scenario that was easily pictured.
