Shisei’s palm had gripped one of his chopsticks so tightly that his thumb snapped the top of it onto the table. Out of everything that has happened since he arrived on Shima this had to be the most startling. His serpent eyes had grown smaller with surprise for a few seconds before they returned to their heartless manner. A few minutes ago he had been surprised to see another Orochi and seconds later that same Orochi was going to help in the eradication of their race.
It may seem like treason? It was! Shisei was not the most patriotic of his race. Perhaps out of all members the furthest from it. He did not spend enough years in his village to have grown a devotion to the growth of his kind. Nor was he born with the capacity to care much for others outside his own needs. Still one thing he knew was that you didn’t just attack your clansmen. Your kin. It was expected.
Perhaps maybe that’s why they were giving him such acts of kindness? To buy the serpent youth over. Who would just go out of their way for a stranger?
" So..where exactlyare you from? You certaintly are not from the Orochi Village."
Shisei almost missed Seshiro’s question, as his mind reflected on the latest news. “I am from a city at the borders of Wind and River country. Did you grow up in the Orochi Village? What is it like?” the boy asked before taking another bite of food. For now he’d have to pretend to be ok with this mission. Even if he wasn’t, Shisei knew he was not in a position of power that could sway anyone here. Perhaps some answers at to condition of the village now could enlighten him.
The snake youth never knew his village well enough to know the political and covert operations that propelled it. Although his mind began to wonder if he could trust Ms. Yuki and the exile before him. "Yet I am an exile too….” his mind thought. All because of his mother and that stupid outsider.
Shisei then remembered something his mother had said a long time ago. He couldn’t remember all that she said, but it was something like “A snake that cannot shed its skin will shed its blood. The clan was…”. What was the rest of it? The child could not remember anymore. It was confusing when he first heard it. Just as how the situation now was becoming complicated.

"Haha," the woman sitting down at her seat eating her food, couldn't help but laugh at the discomfort and surprised reaction Aya managed to get out of Shisei. It reminded the woman of Seshiro's first meeting with Aya and how he slightly blushed when she called him 'Seshy-kun' for the very first time...
Yuki's emerald green eyes turned hard and glared at her daughter as she went dancing away from the table. More and more with each passing day, Tenmoki was disliking how Aya was with Kana all the time. She knew the Kage had good intentions to pair those two up in a squad together, but Yuki couldn't help to be a little upset about her daughter being a tool for another shinobi's stability. Since the girl seemed happy though, Yuki didn't interfere. Her earthly green eyes came back to the table when Shisei commented on her food. "Thank you," she said modestly as he continued to take bites and then listened to Seshiro explain the mission. She felt that more was to be said...
"The main branch of your clan has been conducting experiments on your own people with an ancient ritual using the poison of the white snake. The current leaders of the clan are seeking nothing but power. My husband, and Seshiro's brother, was effected by this poison and it turned him into... a monster," Yuki said, feeling a small jab in her heart when she recalled the memory. The fact that she could call her husband a monster made her sick. "In order to save him, we made a deal with the Orochi's to make them a seal called the Fuin Ryoko which gives its wearer a large boost of strength through the heavy manipulation of chakra in exchange for some of their secrets of the poison ritual. Jio Tomoko was able to create this Fuin Ryoko and a seal that locked away the manifestations of the white snake poison on Sachiriku. However... The Orochi's betrayed us, stole the Fuin Ryoko, so we no longer had a copy of it and killed one of our higher ranking shinobi's and researchers..." Yuki said, trailing off a bit as she thought of Kemuri, who had been a faithful assistant to her even though she ran him rugged at times about his bad habits with smoking. The woman had spilled everything leading up to the war to the boy. She had watched him since he had gotten to Shimagakure and she understood his level of maturity. Yuki knew that with this type of child it was better to tell him the whole story than just give him bits and pieces. Skeptical and hard thinkers like him could always catch onto something that is misleading.
"And yes, what Seshiro says is true. If we don't stop them before they mobilize for war, they will bring destruction upon themselves as well as many other people," Yuki said as she placed her chopsticks on her plate. "I'm happy we could all eat together," Yuki said with a small bow as she took her plate and chopsticks over to the sink and rinsed them off in cool water. "I'll be heading out now. I have to stop by the clinic to pick up equipment for the mission. Then I'll be down at the shoreline. Shisei, there's a room upstairs that has a bed, dresser and small desk. That's your room if you want it. You're more than welcome to live at this house, but if you feel a bit awkward about it, I can always arrange a room at the student dorm house for you. I left 5 Ryo in the dresser if you want to go out and buy some new clothes or any other items you need to make yourself comfortable. Tenko, a nurse at the clinic, will be stopping by here occassionally. She's taking care of my baby girl, Ayumi, so don't mind her. She's a bit timid, so don't jump out at her," Yuki said all this to Shisei rather quickly as she grabbed her jacket and strapped her spear onto her back and checked her pack that was in the closet near the door that held most of her equipment in it. Yuki had three packs around her belt that held medical supplies, weapons and more medical supplies. "Seshiro, can I ask that you please hurry Aya along and make sure she gets down to the shoreline in time for departure?" Yuki said to young man as she re-pinned her hair up into a double bun on the back of her head. "Well, good night, Shisei. Take care of yourself while we're all out," she said tenderly before leaving out the back door in the kitchen and heading to the clinic without giving the boys a chance to question anything she said.

Ancient rituals, white snakes, seals, war. Shisei understood some of the jargon the teacher quickly said. It was still a lot to take in. Were his people really that evil? Many things still didn’t make sense. One thing the serpent youth knew is there was betrayal. Betrayal between nations, betrayal by the Orochi in this village and even his unwanted betrayal. Disloyalty was something that Shisei was quickly becoming acquainted with.
The motherly ninja made a quick departure. “Probably not wanting to talk about the topic.” Shisei would believe. Yuki had said something about a room for him and if he wanted to live within these four walls. It would be something Shisei would have to contemplate. For tonight he would stay. The boy continued to eat waiting until the woman with the spear was gone. “Is there a gym close by? I think I’d like to exercise later.” the boy asked. He allowed that simple question to go first before his next one. He finished the last bit of food and then stared into Seshiro’s amber orbs.
“Are you ready to kill members of your clan? Will you take their lives? If you haven’t taken some already…” the boy questioned putting his chopsticks down.

Upstairs away from the rest of the family who were still dining, Aya was washing up in the bathroom and getting ready for the big mission. She was really excited to be on a squad with Maya and Baki. This would also be the first time where Ichi was along on a mission with Kana and Aya too! The girl had a lot to look forward too that her mind didn't even register the dangers and blood shed that she would encounter once the mission actually began. The girl was optimistic to a fault, something that was strange and abnormal in any shinobi. Drying off her hair, Aya decided that it was time for a trim. Pulling out the scissors from her dresser drawer, Aya began to cut through the pale blue strands of hair. Yuki had pale green hair along with Aski, but Aya had blue. Ayumi's was near pure white, but had a little grey to it since her father's hair was black. As the scissors cut, Aya thought about another cut that had to be done for the Kuchiyose no jutsu. Maybe if she were to cut her hand on some foreign object that was on the battle field? Then she thought about the fact that sometimes there were no objects like that. Fighting in water or out on the sand, there really wasn't anything to cut oneself on... Brushing through her hair once she had cut it to a layered chin's length, Aya felt a little happy about having shorter hair. It was cute!

Shaking her head back and forth after brushing, Aya reached for her fresh set of clothes. It was a new outfit she hadn't worn yet, but she was truly excited for it. Mai-san at the Rice Farm always made new outfits for Aya, and she loved wearing them! Putting on her undershirt and then the rest of the clothes, Aya turned to herself in the mirror. "Uwa!" she said, imitating Tomoko once again as she saw how cute it looked on her. The sleeves were too long, but they looked perfect like that! They were long over the tops of her hands, but on the flip side they stopped right at her wrist, so she could still grab onto things with out a problem. Mai had also made a pair of pants for Aya too. It was going to be cold at the Orochi village since their climate was winter now, so the pants were a good thing! Aya usually wore shorts or skirts. Mai-san was so thoughtful! There was extra padding around the knees made with a different material and loops for her belt to go in. Taking her tan belt and putting it through the loops, Aya checked her little utility pack to make sure she had everything; shuriken, kunai, bandages and burn ointment. Being sure she wouldn't need the burn ointment for the mission, Aya brought it with anyways. There could be a chance that someone starts a fire... She never knew!

Lifting up her pant leg to wrap her ankles and shin's in bandages, Aya spotted a little mark that had been left from when Kazuma bit her in the leg. Her lips pouted out just a little bit when she thought about how Kazuma had been so mad at her. She hadn't seen him since that day... Kana hadn't said anything about him either. Biting. "Aw~!" Aya said as her brain snapped into thinking process and came up with a good idea. Instead of pulling out the kunai and cutting her hand, she could simply bite into her skin to draw some blood to perform the technique. Putting her thumb to her mouth, Aya pretended that she bit into it before performing the necessary seals. "Boar, dog, bird, monkey ram, Kuchiyose no jutsu!" Aya said, squatting down and pressing her open palm onto the ground. A broad smile spread across her face as she did it. "Perfect~!" she said to herself and then finished taping up her ankles and shins before pulling her pants back down over them. "I just have to get over the fear of biting myself," Aya moaned as she opened the door to the bathroom and began to head back downstairs with the scroll open to read up on the next step of the technique.

Walking into the kitchen brainlessly, not hearing the question that Shisei asked to Seshiro or any conversation before that, Aya went into the cooler and grabbed an orange and two bananas and put them into her pack which was only slung over one shoulder. She had another change of clothes in there, second pair of shoes and extra bandages just in case. Her main supply of medical items were in the pack on her belt. Aya was prepared! "Pour out your chakra... like your life depended on it..." Aya mumbled to herself as she sat back down at the table and poured herself some of the tea that was now rather cool into a cup. "Ne~ Seshy-kun. Have you learned any Fuin techniques? This one is really scary. I have to cut myself, use my blood and then send out my chakra like my life depended on it. Is it really ok to learn techniques like this?" she asked him with a bummed out look on her face. Aya really didn't want to bite herself. "Watch, this is what Tomoko wants me to do," Aya said, setting her back on her chair as she got up to try and do the technique. She stared down at her thumb, trying to pull up the guts to bite herself to draw blood.

Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, Aya put her thumb up to her teeth and bit down into her skin. It stung at first which made Aya whimper slightly. Who would've thought that a shinobi who had been stabbed by swords and sliced by blades of wind would be so cowardice when it came to biting down on her thumb to draw a little blood. As the warm red blood ran down her thumb, Aya performed the seals quickly, happy that she had memorized them, because she couldn't think of anything else but the pain in her them. "Kuchiyose no jutsu," she said in a whine as she put her palm on the ground. She had used her chakra, but only a bit of the sacred and ancient fuin seals made their way from the blood that had trickled down her hand. Not even a poof of smoke appeared to bring the summons from their realm to Aya. "Awww~" Aya whined sticking her thumb in her mouth and sucking on it. "I don't wanna learn this technique," she whined giving Seshiro a sad puppy dog look.

Seshiro stared at Shisei for a moment as he asked about his feelings...Killing his own people. Seshiro felt a cold something running down his spine and his whole body. a feeling of numbness overtook him for a second although it felt to him as an eternity.Looking back at Shisei's eyes as the kid was doing he chose his words carefully.
" I cannot answer wether im prepared or not... Ive chosen a path and i must see throu to it to wherever it takes me. Right now in my village brothers are figthing against one another, fathers against sons.. simply because of the ideals of one man...whose mind has been persuaded by my own brother... I can only pray our side is right...pherhap if you had lived in the village you would understand...when all this is over youll have to choose too.. hopefully it wont be such a difficult time."
Seshiro was about to walk away when aya came in back to the table while practicing a new technique. It was funny watching her walk around while she continued to practice. Her dedication was amazing and somewhat a surprise. To think he had changed so much and yet so little.
" Fuin?... im still in the basics on that one.. but hey you seem fine keep it up im ure it will be usefull... unlike mine" Seshiro pulled his hair completely to the front Revealing the Ouroboros sing he had on the back between his back and his neck. It had fuin symbols all around it and some weid Kanji in the center of the Ouroboros. This was the so called Fuin Ryoko wich Seshiro couldnt yet decipher how to use.
After showing her the Fuin seal he walked back to his room and changed his attire to his Black baggy pants, his waist cloth, his Bag of equipmet and the robe sleeves he used normally. After that he grabbed the oldleather choker he used to wear and placed it on his neck once again. Once he had everything he went back to the table.
" Well Aya your mother said we'd better hurry.....Shisei...Hopefuly we'll see each other again and have a better chance to talk pherhaps next time youd accompany me to the village and definately no on a mission...simply a visit.. see you "
Seshirp knew that wouldnt be any time soon, but if fate was with him they would definately see each other again and pherhaps even that time... their clan will have no mysteries...Walking slowly to the door Seshiro leaned to put on his Shinobi sandals. he checked to see if they where well placed by kicking down at the floor a little with each leg and then went up for the door
" Lets go sugar-bomb! youll learn it ventually....you always do"

Shisei listened intently to his words. It appeared that the elder Orochi’s family was more drawn into this war than his. Seshiro had chosen a path that he must stay on and Shisei would have to choose one soon? The smaller snake did not understand his words as yet. Shisei did wonder about his own question. Would he be able to kill his own tribe? Could he cut their throats and stab their hearts? Was he able to end their lives?
The brain of Shisei started to contemplate all the people he could remember in the village and his mind could not come up with anyone. All the faces of the past were just fragments of a lost memory. Faceless voices. Expressive shadows. The only two that were somewhat fleshed out in his mind was another youth his age and a girl that he was supposed to wed one day. His mother had called it an arranged marriage and it was prepared before his birth. Even that girl though was so blurry in his mind she may as well been a figment of the serpent youth’s imagination. He couldn’t even remember their names.
“Maybe Seshiro is the same.” Shisei considered. After all what problem would one have to kill if they didn’t even know their victims name? The victim would be insignificant to the killer. The taller boy went to his room for a quick change of clothes. The snake child did notice a peculiar marking on the back of his neck. There was no reason to ask anything about it now. Seshiro was about to be off to battle. He then departed, stating that they would visit the village together. “If there is one to return to…” Shisei thought. “To kill… even among clans. Perhaps that is not as taboo as one would first believe.” his mind continued. He had listened carefully to both teacher Yuki and his Orochi clansmen to their words. The analytical brain was now going to make its own interpretation.
Before the scrawny youth could wander about the house, he noticed Aya had a change of wardrobe. Her fingers kept cycling through symbols and her voice muttered something about a technique. This was also curious to Shisei, but like Seshiro he chose to keep his questions until they returned. Instead he wondered about how the girl felt about this war?
“Are you prepared to kill?” the boy asked Aya, his eyes locking with hers.

"Eeeeh?" Aya said, peering over to check out the tattoo on Seshiro's neck. "I want a tattoo," Aya mumbled, not really understanding how a fuin seal could be on a person, but she still had a lot of learning to do to really understand fuin techniques. "Haaa..." Aya sighed as she pulled her thumb out from her mouth and scratched it against her tooth to try the technique again. It really stung and the way she performed her seals were slow since her thumb was starting to feel a bit numb with the slightest lack of blood flow since some of it was running down into her palm. After performing the seals once again, Aya placed her hand down on the ground. "Kuchiyose no jutsu," she said, hoping to at least summon the symbols for the technique, but once again, they barely stretched and made their way out. "Aaaaaaaw!~" Aya whined, throwing her head back with the long exasperated sigh as Seshiro came back into the room. It wasn't until Seshiro mentioned her mother that Aya had noticed she was gone. "Oh, right-o!" Aya said as she finished up her tea and put it in the wash bucket on the counter.
As she did this, Shisei spoke to her. Aya turned around with an oblivious look on her face as she stuck her bit thumb in her mouth while she thought. "Prepared to kill..." Aya mumbled swinging her legs forward in a strange gait as she approached the boy. "Your Nee-san has killed many people! If they try to hurt our friends and family, its better to defend them before they lose their lives, ne?" Aya said cutely as if that was the obvious answer. It was clear that Aya's motto was kill to protect and that was why she had no grief about taking lives since she had lost one of her teammates on her second mission... After answering Shisei's question, Aya heard Seshiro call her to get going. "Hai, Seshy-kun!" Aya cheered, happy that he called her by such a cute nickname! "Take care of the house while we're gone, Shisei-nii," Aya said, patting the boy on the head as she ran towards the door and put her shoes on. "That's right! I told Chichi-sensei that I would learn it by the end of the day!" Aya said to Seshiro in remark to learning the technique. With one last turn to Shisei, Aya waved and chirped a quick. "Bye-bye," before disappearing after Seshiro to meet with everyone at the shoreline.

“I’m not your brother….” Shisei stated to the empty house while brushing his hair to get rid of Aya's pat. It felt as if the comment was made to convince the boy rather than anyone else. This Aya was an odd one. She knew the serpent boy for no more than a minute. The sentences they exchanged with each other could be counted. The words they swapped could be counted. Yet her mind was that easy to accepting? To Shisei this was weird, but something else the girl stated also made him wonder.
“Your Nee-san has killed many people…”
“Was she lying? No. There would be no reason to….” the snake boy reasoned. So could her words be true. Shisei would have been more accepting of the words if it came from Seshiro’s mouth. A joyous girl that was no taller than he? The boy didn’t know what to make of it. It would be a question to ask upon her return.
Instead of just standing around he realized that he had the house to himself. Shisei was alone. “Alone again.” he thought as his form began to take note around the household. He put his bowl into the sink and washed it. Shisei also washed the two plates used by Aya and Seshiro. The boy was bit of a neat freak, so the house would remain tidy until the family returned. Once that was finished he then allowed his body to roam around the house.
He moved from the kitchen to see the bathroom and then to the laundry room. His eyes only glanced on the outside of Yuki sensei’s room. It would be impolite to go into a woman’s room uninvited. The boy then wandered up to the top floor, glancing at the three rooms above. There were two with the names of Aya and Seshiro on the door. The youth decided not enter either room due to politeness. He found his room, but would choose to enter it later in the night. He also found another bathroom upstairs. “I guess the three of us will be sharing the upstairs bathroom.” the boy thought. His mind pondered what that would be like if he chose to stay in this welcoming home and shuddered from the idea.
Shisei then went back downstairs and outside, closing the door behind him. His curious mind had him look around the house taking note of the geographical surroundings. His form then found a shack near the house. He cautiously moved inside the small shed lighting a few candles to see the inside. There wasn’t much aside from a few equipment for exercising and a mat that covered the floor. The serpent youth felt a little bit of joy from finding this place. It would be a nice place to train for next hour or so.

Shisei left his sandals by the door as he entered the shed. The air wasn’t chilly within and held a tepid feeling. The boy also put his sweater to side and unzipped the bottoms of his pants leaving them as shorts at his knee. He did not want his sweater to get torn or ripped with any of his training. The pants bottoms were because his ankles and thigh was feeling a bit hot. Bandages around his leg remained. He only took those off when it came time for a shower.
Now that other members of the house were going to have a family fun invasion, Shisei converted his mind to other subjects. There was nothing that could be done with an assault against his tribe. As a child there could be nothing that could be done. All that the logical child could do was wait for the results and then try to make sense of it. Shisei barely knew which side to root for. Both sides were basically foreign to him. Still it would be favorable if the teacher and family returned. But that problem would have to wait.
The main problem in front of him was a few inches short with a snide attitude. The battle had been done a few hours ago and Shisei would only know of the full aftermath at class tomorrow. The war was not over. In some matters the serpent child did not forget and he did not forgive. Yet he was no fool either. Recklessly jumping into another battle with the little imp would probably result in the same outcome. Shisei was a thinker. Failure was distasteful as vinegar mixed with ketchup to him. He had tasted it such few times in his life and would never get used to it. Still failure also meant renewal of motivation.
That is why the boy ducked down into a stance. A few candles were lit among the shed to give enough light. The youth still wanted a decent amount of darkness though. It matched his heart and gave his mind clearness to create an image in front of him. Amber eyes opened and closed slowly to bring the icon in his head to an existence in form that would be too realistic to be a mirage.
His remembered the past. That boy. Perhaps his third opponent in life. The first two he had met on that fateful day, although Shisei wasn’t sure what they were to him either. This boy though was bigger than him with a peach complexion and the nose that resembled a pig. He had a gap in his top front row of teeth. Probably from some other fight the child had been in. One of his lower front teeth though wanted to make up for its missing brother so it grew at an awkward position. This in turn made the tooth stick out outside the boy’s lip so he always had a fang out even when his lips were closed. Even though it had been a long time ago and the serpent youth had grown slightly, that bully was still bigger than him and probably twice his weight. A fat child he was, but his mass is what made him frightening to the other children. Almost as much as Shisei and Shiu. Three intimidating kids and they did not have much love for each other.
Shisei flattened out his palms and extended his fingers. One hand and one foot stayed out in front of him. The other hand laid closer to his side while his other foot turned an angle from the first. Gold eyes could have seen the silhouette of this pass fiend all too well. Something that logical boy would not forget either.
The Opponent Before Me- Shadow Boxing The scar of defeat still runs deep within Shisei. He can only let out his frustration by picturing and fighting an opponent of his past. 1d20 + [1 agl]= 12 DC: 11 Train: 1/10

The boy’s name was Gaki Daishou. Most of the kids just called him Dai, because you would ‘die’ if he hit you. Or so the myth went. Just as in the past the antagonist had gotten the first punch in. The knuckles of the shadow came down and phased through Shisei’s cheek. Although the boy would not forget the pain of that hit from the past. When it did occur it had the blow had taken him off his feet. The children were shocked. “Dai killed the scary kid.”
“The demon boy went down with one punch.”
“Is the demon girl going to die next.”
The children were amazed at this. It was as if a tiger had somehow gotten in a fight with a lion. One of those fantastic battles that only children could dream, but there was little doubt it could actually happen. Shisei remembered that day. Remembering the facade before him the serpent child backed up losing his posture for a few seconds before returning to it.
The Opponent Before Me- Shadow Boxing The scar of defeat still runs deep within Shisei. He can only let out his frustration by picturing and fighting an opponent of his past. 1d20 + [1 agl]= 8 DC: 11 Train: 1/10

The shadow threw a punch left and right, starting with a hook and then having the second hand go into a straight thrust. Shisei backs up as the imaginary enemy begins to corner him into a wall. Just as it would seem that oppressor had the serpent youth it was not to be. The white form pivots on the heel of the angled foot. This turns the boy’s whole body in a small spin that managed to allow the boy to carefully get out of harms way. His body twirled two more times before he came to a stop a few feet away from the shadow of Dai.
The way how that scuffle between them did not come suddenly. It was rising since Shisei had been in that new land. It just came to a head that day because of the events from the day before. All because of little Shiu. The younger sibling was always the one getting Shisei into trouble. The day before Dai had decided to pick on his little sister. The serpent boy though did not do anything. At the time he just took account of the matter and kept walking by. The matter did not matter to him enough to get involved that day. That day was then though and the next day would be different.
The Orochi youth rushed at the black outline of his past foe. His two arms dart out with knife like edges to strike at the face of the foe.
