My worst was probably the winterguard show where I dropped my rifle on a double before going behind a backdrop only to immediately drop my flag upon coming back out. Note: The dropped flag rolled and almost hit someone else. It wasn't even hard work really, I don't know what happened. I felt so bad about it. Thankfully the rest of the show went by smoothly.

Ahh, First percussion comp of the season.
I play mallets and my equipment consists of my xylo, the stand, and my cymbal. Well, we had to rush to set up our stuff, and I ran out of time. So halfway through the first movement (out of three), my stand was really loose, and leaned violently forward. Im in the second row, so I was sooo scared it was going to crash into the girl in front of me. I tried moving it during a rest, but then when I played again, it leaned forward. In that new position, I couldnt play A SINGLE THING because my cymbal was hovering right on top of it! I ended up not playing for the rest of the show, and started crying in the middle of it.
So I pretty much faked the whole show and had tears streaming down my face.

WORST PERFORMANCE EVER.

But ever since then I made sure I didnt grab the s**t stand.

Probally when I crashed during the last measure of rest before the rest of the band started. It was at a competition too. Which sucked, majorly.

Well... I'm not going to count my first year because those always suck.... but i do remember my second winter guard proformance. We ad just about all the work in and i was on dance and wepon. we had about 6 major tosses in the whole thing and i caught..... Oh i think none. Half way through the whole thing i was going to just stop and hide behind a prop but i though my caoch y just kill me more because there would be a gapping hole in the final toss.

It was my second competition. Ever. And I was about to do the final toss of the work we had for the show. It was a decent sized toss, nothing too hard, and I'd tosses it acurately during practices. So I was about to toss it again, during this competition.
The wind decided to hate me.
Out of nowhere, a huge gust caught my flag, whipped it a distance away, and hit another guard member in the back of the head, messing up her hair. I was so scared that she got hurt, but she later told me that she was fine, that it didn't hit her hard.
I ended up getting my flag back, but it was the messiest recovery I'd ever had. Needless to say, I was much more careful after that.

But luckily, we placed first in our class and recieved best in everything... except color guard.

so, in a band performance outside, we were performing during lunch and I'd told my friends all about it (being excited for playing outside) and our BD had picked the day where it wasn't too cold or too hot. but right in the middle of my favorite song, my music blew right off the stand. Right in front of all of my best friends I was so embarrassed because I hadn't memorized my percussion music.
there was another time when i was assigned to a marimba part with two other percussionists. we had two days to learn it, and i ended up only knowing a few lines of it. this is why snare is my calling.

I forgot my drill.....

It was when I wan the person in front during freshmon year... I got distracted by someone on the football team waving a flag around with somebodies (still hoping it's his own) underware on his head. DURING a performance...

it was the second parade of our competitive season (second that day) it was our last run of the show and at the big ending of our show the band archs up and the colorguard goes behind them. so i get behind the band an to my spot no problem, the band pauses for a second and is then cued in, as is the guard. i started the work fine, the first 8 counts, but the 16 after it... i mixed up the 8 count sets that made the 16 counts up. so i spun like i was supposed to, but then instead of grabbing at the cheater on my flag and going to a raised flat, i went to normal flat (begining of the ending cool so then i panikedand got back in at the second 8 (and did the first 4 counts of the first set) and then i just got frustrated and stood there until count 8 when we throw our flags on the ground and try to look bad a**, but i almost bursted out laughing sweatdrop

During this past year's UIL compotition, one of our lovely percussionist (we only have 6 stressed ), Hamisni, forgot all of her music. Thus, she had to play the bells to all the peices by memory.

then, at that same competition...
I missed my crash symbol solo by a 8th note. gonk

It was my first season in drumline, and we had just added this part in our show where I went out into pretty much the middle of the floor (which was weird for me, because I play in the pit) and pop one of those huge packing bubbles (our show was based on bubble wrap). So, during the show, I grabbed my bubble, marched out, and waited for the slapstick run to end. I stomped, but the bubble didn't pop. The entire audience started laughing, and I tried again. Didn't pop. One more try. Finally it popped. It was pretty much my worst and best show ever. It was fun. My senior award that season was "Crowd Pleaser," which is a hell of a lot better than "Most Hyperactive," especially when I wasn't the most hyperactive.

As soon as I saw the name of this topic I knew I would have to post this. For my first drumline season at the highschool (They were accepting 8th graders to join because of how small the drumline is, and I was in 8th at that point) I marched cymbals. One of two. The other one had a headache and took some ibuprofen and started falling asleep during the performance. Part of our show was we are marching in a rotating circle back to back for the cymbals. She almost fell asleep leaning so far back, I fell down with the cymbals and did a roll. Amazingly though I didn't hit the cymbals on the floor the whole time though. So you kinda suddenly see a shiny golden (for the cymbal) ball rolling down the field.

Let's see. I play in the mallet percussion (or front ensemble :0) and it was the last football show of the year. I went to go switch from vibraphone to marimba and I tripped over a power cord in my uniform. :0

hmm well i used to play bass drum (as a freshman... i hated it) anyways, comes preformance day and wer are all lining up just outside the field on the edge of it, and you know how they have those stupid markers that say "20 yards" "30 yards"... ect... ya well i didnt know they were there... and due to me playing the BIGGEST bass drum... i cant see 10 feet infront of me, let alone 1 foot... anyways, so im in the back of this long line of ppl... with the other 2 bass drums in front of me... and a marker decides not to like me... i trip... AND THE NEXT 4-6 PPL FELL OVER.... nevertheless i quit bass drum after that year... now i play mallets! heart

Oh jeez.....we were against one of our worst rivals in football. We didn't have a flag teacher/director/person this year so we had to make up our own routine. I was the co-captain. Anyways we had to change some of the routine and teach the other members the last routine of the show a few days before and needless to say they didn't really remember it (they're dyslexic and ADD). So half time was royally screwed. I didn't know where I was going and nobody else did either and the last song we opted to go to the front sideline and stand there. We were HORRIBLE. It really was the worst show of my marching band experience. I started to cry in the middle of it it was so bad. I felt so embarrassed watching the other schools band play.
