h Miyamori Mayu kohaku-dono Do I have to finish the series in order to see the second movie? No you don't have to. The series is the alternate timeline in GITS Cool. So I just have to see the first movie? (which I have--many times)

A third Movie would be nice, but I think that they would have to put the major in it from start to finish insted of the very end like they did with the 2ed one. Not to say I dident like the 2nd movie, but I think that not having Motoko in it kinda ruined it for the fans. sad

Speaking of Innocence, that was actually a bit of a disappointment to me. Unlike the first one where the 2d and 3d animation was mixed together perfectly, this one had way too much 3D; almost like it was clashing.
As for a 3rd GITS movie, I don't think one will be done unless it maybe it's based off of the series. *shrugs* Hehe, tachikomas!

I think it would be better if the third one was based off the series. I was really confused with the movies, possibly because I've watched SAC first. They were good, but...I prefer the series. If there were a third movie, there must be Tachikomas. 3nodding

I would like to see something else from the GitS crew, but maybe something a bit off branching...
I mean like where the hell the rest have section 9 been during the last two films? Were they all out getting milk or something?
Imagine if you will;

Cry as they can't find the right aisle number for dairy products!!
Gasp as they run through random displays of canned goods!!
Be amazed as Pazu, Borma, Saito and Ishikawa (when he doesn't have his miniscule screen time) do battle with cleaning robots and members of staff!!
Will they get the milk on time, or will they have to go to the bread aisle as well!?

i did hear that the 3rd movie will follow the stand alone complex series and will have the tachikoma's in it along with a huge addition to section 9 like 20 new members although i doubt that many of them will be crutial to the story it takes place 2 years after the series and i also think i read that it will have a huge bedget so it will be way impressive visualy and they might want to release in the theater or some thing.

Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. Solid State Society (攻殻機動隊 S.A.C. Solid State Society, Kōkaku Kidōtai: Solid State Society) is a movie based on Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, an anime series set on the universe of the manga Ghost in the Shell. Production I.G announced the new episode at the Tokyo Anime Fair 2006. It is scheduled to be released in summer of the same year. The episode would be 100 minutes long. It is not clear whether the episode will be a feature film, a television episode or a direct-to-video product. The production team is the same as the previous TV series.
The Plot is set in 2034, two years after 2nd GIG, when Public Security Section 9 recruits 20 new members. The new event starts with 13 terrorists sharing a Sanskrit script tatoo (梵の刺青を入れた13人のテロリスト).
They take hostages in an airport, and commit serial suicides. Section 9 steps in the counter terrorism action and investigation, and corners one terrorist, only to hear terrorist's last word before commiting suicide: the existence of "super wizard" class hacker Kugutsu Mawashi ( 傀儡廻, roughly translated as "Puppet Master", but different from Ningyo Tsukai of the first movie).

Hmm..intresting. Well, that movie definetly looks good. And, is it just me or did Motoko's hair actually get longer in the trailer to the next movie? They didn't give me a clear shot of it, but it seemed longer.
