A rather tall and pale skinned man hurried in the clinic. He whore a kimono who's sleeve reach almost down is leg. His eye's where covered by the usual Aburame's sunglasse's. His hair where cut short and he proudly had a long black beard. He was following a woman who named herself Tenko, a nurse of the clinic. Shizai was in the middle of so small research when the nurse had knock on the door of the clan's house. In a matter of second, Shizai understood that something was wrong, when he open the door to find an anxious woman. She talked fast and it took a moment for Shizai to understand her, has she was barely taking her breath. It took another moment for him to understand that his son was poisoned and that they needed his help. Shizai had rush in the operation romm like a gust of wind. Their, he found his boy, who lie down on the bed.

''I believe you need my expertise.''

Has he look down on the boy. He appeared to be rough up, has Shizai could see several bruise on his arms and legs. But the most serious wound was the small hole. There, he saw the bug. Small, black beattle ants. Shizai eye's widened in shock, has he recognize the insect. They where Kikai bugs, a very rare and dangerous species. Well dangerous up to some point. The Kikai usually attack anything on sigh that contain chakra. They fed off it, killing their prey in the process. But they usually never attacked human, altough they had the most largest concentration of chakra. Unless they where depserate. But his son was unique in some way. He now fully understood what had happened. It seem in order to survive the poison, he had made some kind of ''proposal'' with the bug.

''He will be alright...if you take care of the poison, that is. Do not worry about those bugs. The are called the Kikai, a legendary parasitic insect. Few witness ever seen them. They are dangerous, I have to admit that. They feed on chakra, their hunger never really satiated. But, they are only dangerous when in large number. Wich they are not, at the moment. They seem to have taken my son has their host. He was probably desperate by the poison and has a last resort, he ''convinced'' them of saving him. My son will have a limited amount of chakra at his young age, enough to feed the Kikai without dying. Has he will grow out, the Kikai will multiply at the same time has his chakra will. So their isn't anything to worry about right now. Though I'm not sure what he has gotten himself into...''

He said the last word with a mysterious voice, thinking about what will happen if the boy used to much of his chakra...

With Tenko taking her leave after bringing the head Aburame in, it was only Nao and Kumiko that stayed in the room and listened to the explanation of the bugs that were infesting the young boy. Nao nodded his head as he listened. How unique... destruction bugs. "We'll continue to clean up the wounds and make sure they won't be infected. If you don't mind, I'd like to keep him closely monitored for the next few days to make sure these Kikai don't harm him... If they feed off his chakra, its only safe to suggest that the boy be trained to increase his supply," Nao said almost as a precaution. "Aburame-san, would you reject an offer to have him enrolled within the shinobi academy? This may sound a bit headstrong, but this situation is very unique and if your son is able to communicate with these destruction bugs they could be one of the most useful tools ever known to the shinobi world," Nao put in as a suggestion to the man. The Hyuuga was getting rather anxious to see what this new bodily development held, but he didn't want to get too far ahead of himself without Tenmoki, the Kage or the Aburame's approval.

''I see that he his in safe hand in here...I just wonder if he will woke up soon...''

Has he said that, Shizai was stroking his beard up and down like an thinking old man. Well in truth, he wasn't far of old.

''We seems to have like-minded intention for I too wish to know how far my son would go with this rather unique situation of him. I believe he should make the choice, and I think he was really interested in becoming a ninja. He took to much on his mother in that.''

He said with a little speek of a smile.

*Science isn't is best field. He has already the quality of a good ninja. We just need to see if he will have the guts and stamia in order to survive the ordeal of this way of living.*

''The kage already talked to me about the intention of enrolling him. I'm sure he would make a great addition to this village defense's. My only fear is the possibility of loosing him...but that every parent's fear...''

[Can you proof read your posts, Fire? You add a lot of unnecessary "H's" to your words. Kind of makes it hard to read, love.]

"That it is," Nao said with a nod, knowing the feeling of having two young shinobi in training himself. They had all returned to the mainland to study under the clan's teachers since their style fighting is something that no normal sensei could teach, but only that of the Hyuuga clan. "We'll let him rest for th remainder of the night. I heard that the academy day tomorrow won't be too strenuous, so perhaps he could attend school if his body isn't too sore to walk," the doctor said to Shizai as he returned to tending to the young lad's wounds.

''Ok, I think he his in good hand. I shall come back tomorrow to see if everything is alright...my wife must be anxious by now.''

*By the spirits of nature, she is going to kill me.''

[Exit to clan's house]

Shikai was only awaken the next day, by the brillant light of the sun. The curtain of his window where wide open. His mind was clouded and it took a moment to gather his thoughts. The first thing that he noticed was the bed where he laid. The second thing he feeled was the pain of his body. His muscle on his arms and legs where sore. He could still feel the stabing pain on his leg, where the snake had bitten him. But more so, where the Kikai had carved their way in. He could feel them...they where everywhere inside him. Ten of them...near the surface of his body. He could feel them in his blood stream...they where making...path's? He didn't hurt him, but he had a hard time in understanding what they where doing. Well he wasn't up in finding out what they where doing either. He laid there on bed, wondering who had saved him...
PostPosted: Wed Aug 06, 2008 4:28 pm

Shikai slept for a day now...the nurse did come and tend to his wound. She tell him that some ninja saved is life...and that she worried about the bugs. Shikai said that it was ok. That the bug feeded on a little of his chakra and that they didn't arm him that much. In about two days of resting, he slowly tried to walk. It wasn't that hard after a couple of try. Since he was feeling better, the nurse decided to let him go...

''I think you should go to the academy. Surely, their's a teacher waiting for you.''

And so, Shikai made is way there.

For possibly the first time, Shinichi walked into the clinic following an S-ranked mission without so much as a scratch. he grabbed a towel and wiped the ever present sea salt that had accumulated during their unusually peaceful voyage back. Granted, that was mostly due to the fact that about half their squad was too busy licking their battle wounds. The ANBU carelessly tossed the sleeping, smaller Noburo on a bed, a sneer coming to his face when he thought of how impossible it was to wake the demon when she needed her ugly sleep. As for him, he stood waiting at the entranceway in case anybody needed his assistance coming in. Shinichi swallowed a heated stone as he thought of how the war forced people to show their true colors, of how those Orochi cowards had turned tail and ran. Surely it was no surprise that Akuyiro was missing, but he thought he had gotten to know Sachiriku well enough to assert that the man considered Shimagakure his home. Then again, he had never been a people person. Shinichi cursed when a boiling drop of blood rolled down his bandaged hand and he turned to find a fresh roll. He had warned the Kage-sama countless times about the Orochi, about Aku, about not blindly trusting people! What good did that do? It didn't help that he had been ordered to leave the Rice Country before he could execute a search for the traitors' bodies, a potentially deadly move that would bite them in the a** when Akuyiro sold out Shima's secrets. God damn it! What the hell was he doing wasting time here, waiting for a b***h to confirm that he was alive? Shinichi hissed, eyes clenched shut when he discovered that his fist had lodged into the nearest wall. They had defeated one enemy only to make ten more!

Maya let out a harsh snarl as Tenko dabbed a poultice onto her ribs. Damn that Orochi and his stick...apparently she had come home with bruised, if not broken, ribs. Maya, however, had not allowed the nurse to do more than give her something to numb the pain, though she would have gladly escaped the confines of the building whose halls smelled of death and illness. Everyone here seemed to have been hurt - she loathed the fact that she had to be in here. Angry and annoyed, Maya growled again, causing Tenko's hand to slip and the poultice to waver. With determination, Maya sat still and quiet, waiting for the timid nurse to finish wrapping her torso. With another poultice on her shoulder, Maya slunk out the clinic, passing by Shinichi and growling again, eager to go home and check on the clan.

Baki, no worse for the wear than when he had left, stood patiently while Maya's bruises were treated. Baki had been curious as to why parts of the girl's body had become darker than others, splotched and ugly. When he'd shoved his nose into one, he'd received a heavy smack between the ears that still ached when he thought about it. Maya had immediately apologized, of course, but Baki's low growls and the dangerous glint in his eyes meant trouble for anyone who would come near Maya in the next couple of days. He followed her, a rough snarl in his throat for the red-haired ANBU - he hadn't forgotten their insane training in the jungle to the north of the village. Following Maya, his spirits were lifted considerably when he realized they were going home.

Natamo's expression was blank as her wounds were treated, mostly bruises and some gashes from that damn rock that the beast lugged around. She hefted the skull on her hip, shifting it to the other side so that her injuries could finish being looked at. She supposed she should be happy about having a trophy, but she hadn't actually won it herself. She had taken it to remind her that there were forces much stronger than she was, and that she had a ways to go before she could challenge the beast Dhan again. Perhaps she would take a leave, go out on her own and find a beast to partner with. The battle had been almost increasingly simple when Noburo had lent a helping claw. With a small smile, she thanked the nurse and lugged the skull over her shoulder, heading towards, where else?, the lagoon. She still had a makeshift place at the rice farm, in the barn with the water buffalo...still, the lagoon had its perks. Quite, for one, and rarely did anyone go there. A fresh source of water and lots of small critters around that seemed to know her by name...if they could have talked, anyway.

Lying on the side of a hospital bed after being brought their by her mother, Aya had been sleeping for some time. She had used quite a bit of chakra during the war and was still regaining it even after days of traveling back to the village. Pushing herself up off the bed, she felt the ache of where she had been hit by the Naginata. Reaching up to her cheek, she had healed the scratch on her face before anything else. That sounded a little narcissistic, but keeping her face baby smooth and perfect wasn't something Aya was concerned about. No, it was the thought of seeing the scar everytime she looked into a mirror and remembering the war where she had lost a good portion of her family... Seshiro hadn't reported back from the war. Sachiriku was nowhere to be found after the explosions and the most important person to the entire village hadn't been seen after the explosion.

Remembering what Sukotto had told her about what he had witnessed in his fatigued state at the elder tree, Aya clenched the sheets of the hospital bed she was sitting in. Had Ichi really been turned to stone? Feeling the sting of tears hit her blue eyes, Aya tried to think of the best possible situation. They had all been forced to leave the village since there were so many explosions going off. She had even abandoned a fight against an enemy to escape herself. The shinobi couldn't stay at the Orochi village to make sure everyone was accounted for since they were outnumbered and officials of the Rice country had been moving in on the village. Had everyone really been killed in the explosion?

Getting up from the hospital bed, Aya slipped on her shoes and the fresh pair of clothes that had been laid out for her to wear. The long sleeves fell far past her fingertips as she pulled the top up to her shoulders. Her movements were slow and somewhat jagged as her small limbs shook at the sickening fact that the Kage might be dead. Not everyone had the chance to speak to Sukotto on the boat ride back and Aya just couldn't come to tell everyone what he had reported. Swallowing down the sadness that had swollen in her throat, Aya walked towards the entrance of the clinic.

"Thank you, Kumiko,
" Aya said towards the nurse, who had probably assisted in making sure she was alright. The light blue haired girl had been lucky enough to have not been bitten by an Orochi. The poison was fatal to most and Aya had been safe from its effects. Walking towards the door, the girl spotted a familiar face who seemed perfectly unharmed from the war. He was a little dirty due to the explosions and such, but it looked like Shinichi had just been through some rough training instead of a war. "Chichi-sensei," Aya said softly and with a sad smile as she walked up to the Anbu who had always been by Ichi's side. Today... he was standing alone though. Again, Aya felt that threatening lump swell up in her throat, wanting her to cry. She swallowed hard once again and kept that sad smile on her face. "Is there anything that needs to be done that I can h-help with?" The Tenmoki girl asked, her voice cracking slightly since she was still trying hard not to cry. She had to think the best of what might have happened...

Traitors, all of them! Shinichi's eagle eyes easily made him the best tracker in the world so there was no way he could have mistaken the sight of the two Orochi brothers and a dingy pirate fleeing the scene and moreover, in the opposite direction of their rescue boats. An entire forest of smoke and debris couldn't hide their treachery. That scene was all he'd been able to witness before the final bomb went off, coating his ears, eyes, nose, and mouth with a layer of dust so thick that the ANBU had to rely on his sixth sense to make it out. Shinichi remembered waiting apprehensively, tightly clutching the bow of their boat until his fingers bled, for Team 3 to show up. He had spotted a squadron of uniformed Rice Country soldiers quickly advancing and had made the decision to withdraw their boat. They had too many wounded men on their ship that wouldn't survive the soldiers' cannon fire and the remaining man was skilled enough to escape on his own.

As Shinichi unwrapped the bloodied bandages on his hand, he ran his eyes over Noburo, lips pursed. On the trip home, she had been the only one to speak, everyone else either knocked out or too war weary. She had spoken incessantly of her epic battle with Natamo and how together they executed earth-shaking combinations that could cripple a nation, much less one opponent. Shinichi had not believed his falcon, but as she continued to chatter on -despite threats on her life- the details he put into those recollections convinced him. By comparison, none of the the attacks he had made with her connected, as if they were two shinobi fighting together for the first time, not aware of each others presence enough to work together. The truth was obvious, as much as it was unsettling, that their partnership was in name only. Shinichi heaved a sigh and sat on the bed where his roommate was snoozing the day away. He reached out a hand to stroke her feathers, to reassure himself that everything would be fine between them, but pulled away. He reminded, repeating over and over to himself that anything that did not aid a shinobi in battle was useless and should be tossed before it became a burden. But, the man looked at Noburo with sad eyes, himself yet unwilling to embrace the truth. She was still a part of him.

Shinichi finished tying the bandage and looked up to see Aya. The girl had done well in her fight, using many of her skills to constantly surprise and eventually overwhelm her opponent. She learned fast and that along with her deceptive beauty and masking, jubilant personality easily gave her the most potential out of all genin. However, today the girl's smile didn't carry the warmth it normally did. Her face contained an element of distress that was out of place for the victory they had just won. Shinichi looked away, towards an open window. He did not want to see the pain so apparent in Aya's eyes because it could only mean that something had gone wrong with their mission. The hard-hearted assassin at first disregarded her question, thinking to insist that she should concentrate more on restoring color to her pale face, that the nurses had everything covered. His own mind had gone blank, desiring just a moment's rest before everything crashed again. "Let's make some tea... It's getting chilly," Shinichi offered, rising. He gingerly touched Aya's shoulder, stiffly nodding towards the cabinet where Tenko kept her special brews. He got out a pot and started to boil some water, leaving the girl to decide which tea they should make. The ANBU's face was set in stone and he concentrated far more attention on the teapot than was necessary, for the man had never seen his favorite girl so... broken. She would tell him what was killing on her on the inside when she was ready.

An image of a fierce fire consumed the eye of Sukotto's mind. Two fans were all that kept this ember fed, allowing it to be content enough to limit its size. Each of the fans had basic characteristics that separated them from each other. The smaller of the two was painted a beautiful navy blue and the larger was a plain tan with the insignia of a black flame stitched into the fabric. The heat created by the seemingly tireless efforts of the fans breathed just enough warmth to heat a numerically countless pile of eggs within a deep nest, each inscribed with a sideways figure-eight, all of them individually and ironically representing their sheer multitude.

Within his mind, the fans eventually aged with time and the larger of the two became brittle and hard, though it still strongly waved the fuel that the fire depended on. It wasn't much longer before it began to crack and eventually lost the livelihood to persist, falling away from the entire scene and shattering on its last desperate attempt to continue its duty.

A few of the broken pieces of the deceased kindler struck the blue fan on their decent into the unknowns that laid below the nest, ripping a few holes in its cloth and tampering with its ability to keep the flame burning brightly. In its distress, the blue fan rapidly increased its pace in an attempt to make up for the loss of its counterpart and the damages it had sustained. However, the weakened fan merely began to fall apart and chip its paint, revealing an ugly green color that had been skillfully hidden underneath of the radiant blue. The pieces of torn fabric floated into the fire and elevated it to a dangerous intensity.

Even though it was clearly rotting the eggs that it sought to care for, the mutilated fan continued its destructive work until finally one of the smallest and inferior looking eggs somehow managed to roll itself off of the edge, bluntly displaying to the fan exactly what it had become. In a flash, the fan used what remained of itself to catch the fallen child, returning it to the nest while taking on a new form. As it positioned itself in front of the blaze once again, it had cleared all traces of color from its body, pure white light taking place of the fabric itself. With one swoop of the now incandescent fan, the fire was once again under control, radiating an essence that would lead to the hatching of every single one of the eggs; a wondrous rebirth of a nest once lost to evil.

After Roz had fled, Kane had stood there confusedly wondering how he'd managed to drag the fight long enough to survive. Because, frankly, he wasn't dumb enough to believe that he'd actually stood a chance. The girl didn't even seem to have been using her full power, and Kane had spotted a bo leaning idly by a tree. It was vexing to know that he could barely hold his own against a girl only a little older than him, going easy on him.

It was in this confused and annoyed stupor that he got hit by an arrow from a sniper that had stayed behind. Or maybe it was a rock that was the catapulters' last stand. Who knows? The only thing Kane knew, was that he woke up with a moan (good thing it wasn't an erotic one... well, maybe, depending on your point of view) in the clinic. His side was throbbing and his vision swum. It wasn't as bad as it could be, though, which meant that he'd probably been touched up by Tenko or Kumiko. He'd have to thank them. He felt utterly confused and his mind was foggy. What exactly was going on? He tried to speak, but nothing clear really came out. He realised that he had been out for days when he recognised this place as Shimagakure's clinic, and deduced that they must have returned home. And the journey would have taken several days, and if he didn't have any memory of what had been going on...

Man, he was such a wimp. But he knew that already! He didn't need his body reminding him every chance he got. His body seemed to be getting better, though. It no longer hurt as much, no it didn't really hurt at all, and his vision became clear enough that he could pinpoint out Aya walk off. Seeing Aya, he momentarily felt a stab of jealousy. She always seemed to have everything going for her. Good skills, a great relationship with everyone, and good looks... Everybody loved her, even Shinichi the old biscuit.

But, Kane squashed that thought as soon as it came. It was wrong to think that and he felt guilt course through his system, although it didn't come immediately. Besides, Aya must have worked hard to get where she was. Kane would just have to work double to get where she was. That just sounded a little bit depressing, really.

Where was his mother?! Surely she would rush to see him on first notice of their return? Kane wanted nothing more than to see his mother now and tell her about everything, ask her help... and, he wouldn't admit it, but ask her how Father would have done it. What he would have done. He struggled to sit up, and then noticed a plate of onigiri sitting on the bedside table next to him. From his mother, or Hana-chan. He'd been out for that long, huh... Oh... Man....

He took a rice ball and ate it, chewing slowly. He felt absolutely horrible. Unknown to Kane, he was once again focusing on his own problems and defects when the bigger picture was much more dire.

Slowly, Aya's eyes aimed for the floor while she waited for Shinichi to answer her. She had a feeling that he would scoff and scold her, telling her that she should be worried about her own recovery and health before thinking she could help with everyone else. Feeling the cool warmth of Shinichi's hand on her shoulder, Aya's eyes returned upwards to look into the cold ones of Shinichi. The girl gave a small nod of her head when he mentioned tea. Walking over to the cupboard, Aya took out the box decorated with white flowers and a young lady in a kimono sitting in the center of them. It was the jasmine tea, the favorite of her mother and of the Kage who had drank the tea many times with her mother. Aya had also become a fan of the tea made from the beautifully scented flower. The girl wasn't too sure about Shinichi's tastes, but he had allowed her to choose. Walking over and staring at the pot as if it were the most entertaining thing in the room, Aya began to speak to the large man standing next to her without turning those blue orbs towards him.

"Shinichi-sama," she called him by a more respectable name rather than the cutesy Chichi-sensei she had always called him and Ichi. "Are we going back to rescue Ichi?" She asked him, completely unaware that Shinichi had not yet spoken with Sukotto who had passed out rather quickly after making his way back to the boat. "He can't be..." Aya's last sentence drifted off as that lump in her throat caused her to become mute. Her eyes and head dropped from staring at the pot to the small box of tea she held in her hand. She played with the edges of the box as her heart began to shake nervously along with her small body. "Even if he was turned to stone... We can still save him, right?" Aya asked her head abruptly turning up towards Shinichi. Her soft blue eyes staring up at his hardened war torn face. The moisture in her eyes from threatening tear drops turned her into nothing more than a powerless thirteen year old that was fearing the loss of and missing one of the only men who she looked up to as a father figure. "When- will we g-go back?" she asked Shinchi, choking on her words as she continued to hold back the salty water that wanted to roll down her cheeks. "Can't we send out Tomoko and Jonu? They're fully rested!" Aya suggested with her fast paced speech pattern, desperately wanting someone...ANYONE to go back and bring the Kage home.

Even though the strange vision of the eggs, fire, and fan seemed very strange and otherworldly to Sukotto, he still knew what at least half of it meant. It was easy for him to tell who each of the fans and what the eggs and flame represented, but he was unsure of what lied beneath the paint of the blue fan. In all actuality, it was fear that blocked his mind from realizing what the complete truth behind what the vision was expressing.

The Uchiha had woken to Aya pleading with Shinichi, whom the genin had never formally met. His body felt unwilling to move, but his heart wanted to get away from the atmosphere of the clinic and that alone was enough to will his muscles to reluctantly move. He wasn't sure exactly what his barely conscious state had mumbled to Aya on their way back from the Orochi village, but he didn't need the Sharingan to tell by the expression on her face that it had been far too much. A surprisingly strong feeling of rage swelled within his chest and nearly caused him to groan. However, as desperate as he was to make a silent getaway, Sukotto managed to stifle it as he slipped off of the bed that he had been laid upon. He crept as quietly as he could out of the room, desiring to be left alone so badly that it literally ached. In fact, he was desperate enough to activate his kekkai genkai to aid himself in finding his way out more quickly. He figured that Shinichi would have little or no interest in him for the time being; his only concern was Aya badgering him at a time when he wasn't himself. She was like a sister to him and he didn't want to reveal what he was barely holding beneath the surface of his painted exterior.

The Uchiha would limp his way home, keeping his mind empty and apathetic until he could leave reality and return to the world of dreams; the only way he could truly escape.
