She never really wandered too far off from the HQ or her home. The path she took from home to the HQ was always the same one. She was never one to really explore, especially on her own. The thought frightened her, but she also wanted to please the other. Any confrontations or conflicts she could avoid, she would do her darn well best to avoid.
Um...I don't...Know? I don't usually...explore... A nervous smile spread across her face. Wherever the other wanted to lead her to, she would try to follow. Unless it was a den full of Nightmares, but it seemed unlikely Jayn would lead her to such a place.

"Not far from HQ there is a cold water spring that is very nice to soak in," With a very warm smile and she was so happy that little vines started to sprout and dance as she also her tails started to wag.
Jayn would never take anyone were she thought wasn't safe. As she was scared too and only explored becasue her family wanted her to as she waited for Pearl.

That sounds...nice... She smiled weakly. There was still so much uncertainty within her. She wanted to trust the other to lead her to safe places, but there was still this little voice in her head warning her not to so easily trust others.
Pearl inched her way toward the other ever so slowly. Her ears were high up in the air, watching out for any sudden, strange noises.

Jayn smiled as she led the way out of the HQ and down one of the smaller paths that led off of the main path that led upto HQ. Nothing really happen on the way except for the singing birds and a slight breeze to keep them both a little more cool as they walked.
After there little walk and down a slight hill, they both came out to a small valley with a small lake that was fed by an underground spring and it could be heard as a little burble comming to the serface of the water. "Here we are, Pearl and from the scent on the wind there isn't anyone for miles" she said and not really knowing why she said that but she just contuned to smile and a slight tail wag as well.

She couldn't really see how spectacular the place Jayn led her was. But at the least she felt comfort in the fact that they were alone. It still made her feel uneasy, but most of her unease was relieved by the fact that no one else potentially harmful to them were near by.

"Your welcome," she said and walked into the cool water "Come on in, Pearl. The water is nice a cool." Calling to the other to come and join her.
"I'm just wondering and such, but do you have a family, Pearl? You don't have to answer if you don't want to." With a small vine growing with Jayn played with the dirt around the pool and making shapes, as it was her notion of figitting.

Hesitantly, she approached the pool of water. She stood by the edge of the water, ever so carefully dipping the very tip of her paw into it first. Instantaneously, her paw retracted back to the surface world. As Jayn said, the water was cold--too cold for her liking. For now, she'll just stay by the edge of the water.
Family? No...I don't...have any family...Do you have...family? Even if Jayn didn't, it seemed like she had other non-blood related kitsus she could consider family. That must be nice...Family.

Jayn watched Pearl come to the pond and study her features as they were very beautiful in the full sunlight. But didn't mind when she didn't join her in the pond. Everyone has there own tastes and likes and Jayn wasn't going to force anyone.
Ears went slightly down as Pearl told her she didn't have a family, but then thought it would only take time. "I do but none of us are related by blood. I adopted three when I found there eggs. Two of them are grown and wander. One that is a teen that loves to hide." Thinking for a bit. "Eventually you will have a family. You are so beautiful and nice and I mean it." Jayn said as she smiled very warmly at Pearl.

Jayn sounded like she came from a warm family with loving members. Pearl often felt aloof and out of place in her "family". Usually they were all too busy with their own agendas to pay attention to her. Not only that, but her fragile personality didn't allow her to approach them very much. They were all independent figures where as she wished she was so independent.
Eventually...I'll have...a family? She repeated the question lightly. The thoughts didn't quite sink in. What did Jayn mean by that?

"It will happen when you least expect it. Even I once thought I wouldn't have a family for the things I when through when I was younger. But I made a promice to myself that I wouldn't let other grow up the way I did and to make sure they grew up happy." she said as Jayn thought of her past and not wanting anyone to experence what she had, but she knew it could happen. "You must have others that you care for? As a family can be what ever you want as long as you know what the meaning of family means to you." Jayn said as she sank into the water deeper with only her head sticking out, but watching Pearl and makeing sure no one came.

Of course she had others she cared for. Those in her "family" that were kind to her, and the few friends she made out here...and...and...Darkside, too! He was a different case though, but she could not tell why just yet.
She didn't want to think too far ahead just yet. Things might not go her way after all.
I have...others that I care for...Some more than others...Hey...Jayn...Could you tell me...What 'love' is...?

Jayn listened to what Pearl had to say and then she had to think about it for a second as everyone had a different take on 'love' and walked out of the water on to a near by rock. "Everyones view of love is a little different as it means different things to them. But in general it means a sence of a strong affection and attachment to those we care about. Like how I really care for my children and want to be around them is becasue I love them. Is one verson of the meaning." she said as her tails slowly moved back and forth trying to come up with another example as in the love mates have as she didn't think she herself would ever have one and she really didn't think she deserved one becasue of what she did in her past.
"Another meaning is someone that you care so deeply for that you want to be with them for the rest of your life, it can feel like the both of you are two halfs that make a whole when together. A feeling that you don't know what you would do without the other and are just plan happy just to be in the present of that special someone. That would true love or some others would call it soul mates as from my own experence this is the type of love you share with a mate." Jayn said trying to explane the best that she could. "But that is what I think it means as it can mean other things to other people. Love comes in many forms and some times it can be hidden from ourselfs but seen by others. Its something that has to be thought of to make sure what is being felt is what is truely felt in the heart."

[No worries, your explanation was very good. biggrin I just wanted someone to put it into words for Pearl so the lightbulb above her head would go off ^_^]
Pearl listened with all the attention she could manage to give to Jayn. If she had a notepad more than likely she would've taken down notes in the process. It was a good thing she made friends with Jayn. The information she was relaying was fairly detailed and easy to understand.
So if you feel...sad if someone isn't...there....is that love too?
