Articuno blinked some as soon as she heard the words come out of the stallion's mouth, turning back around to face him. Her crisp eyes were wide with shock and her face was slightly flushed, her mouth gaping open in the slightest of ways. She had been called beautiful before. That was not really anything new to her. But.. For what ever reason.. This situation seemed.. Different. It was like that was some sort of connection between the two of them, and she couldn't help but to feel uneasy about it all.
"Thank.. You.... Karma..", she managed to stutter out. Her wings continued to flex some, but more so in shyness now. She honestly didn't know how to react, or merely what to say. She only knew that she felt awkward.. In both a good and bad way.

Hearing her response set Karma more at ease but gave him no more clues on what to say or do next. He would have liked to leave her for a little while, to be alone with his thoughts to reflect on what it was exactly he was feeling. If he left to do that, though... Karma feared that the ethereally beautiful angeni might disappear as swiftly as she had appeared. He didn't want to lose what could be his one chance at ever speaking to an angeni... at ever speaking with Articuno.
And yet he still was uncertain of what exactly it was that he wanted to say to her.
"I was looking for a concept... of something that was Angeni..." he quietly mused to himself while his mind struggled to catch up. "But what I found wasn't that concept... it was you." He looked at her, his blue eyes meeting her red ones. "And I am very grateful to have met you, Articuno."

"I am grateful to have met you too, Karma. You are.. Much unlike the others I have chanced to meet in my travels. You are different.. Unique.. And just rather sweet in general. That is something I highly value in those I make friends with."
She smiled gently, her surprised expression fading away. She could see the confusion that was set within his face, and hoped she didn't confuse him any more so than she already had. She was rather in a daze herself, as she felt her feelings running awry all around her. However, she considered them to be nothing more than foal love, if anything, since she had only just met this stallion. Silly, childish love is all it could have been.
Right..?

When had he ever felt such an emotional response to simple praise? As soon as that question occurred to him, another came on it's heels. When has anyone ever said things like this to me at all? It was a sobering thought and stirred something deeper within him. This emotion, he did have a name for.
Loneliness.
His family, the other soquili he'd met. He'd left them all behind. It hadn't seemed important then but now he was able to recognize it. This revelation, so desperately simple, hadn't shown itself until he was faced with the sparkling beauty of Articuno. Like the secret of flight, it was a truth she unlocked within him.
"If I am unique and sweet, you are something beyond all that." He spoke without a flatterer's tone. For him, he was only stating truths and they required no grandiosities.
