"How about the fact that your mate's with you, that you're both fed, you're not injured, and you're on a path to somewhere greener." Up side of things instead of just looking at the dreary. She didn't know why he couldn't do that. She'd never understood why there were some others who always had to look down.

She cocked her head to the side and looked at the lion for a bit. "You have issues." She laughed and sat back down in the dirt not far from him. "She's with you in spirit though right? You know she loves you and no matter where she is she'll always love you."
That's how mates were suppose to be. She knew that it wasn't always like that but she hated to think about those sorts of things.

"You wouldn't be the first to tell me so." He smirked, violet eyes gleaming. "She may be with me in spirit... Or she may be far too distracted by the male that she is currently with. When one is acting the part of the mother their thoughts are often for their cubs and little for anything else... Even if this cub is no cub and it is no more her own than it is mine."

It seemed a little odd the way the other male was speaking. Almost like, well like he didn't trust his mate to love him. "Do you ..... do you think she would think of someone else more than you?"
True cubs maybe, mother's instinct and all, but another grown male? Did this lion really think his mate would just forget about him for another that she just met?

"She has a big heart and while I am in it always I know that mothering takes up much of it." He shook his head slowly. "I could not take that from her again. My frustrations are my own." He managed a sort of wry grin.

She tsked softly. "I bet she doesn't think that. I bet she'd rather you shared your frustrations so she could help you get past them."
She though that sounded like something you'd do for someone you loved. She'd never felt that way about anyone and didn't see it happening any time soon but it seemed right.

"Me? Oh no." She shook her head quickly. "But maybe that's why i can see? I don't have anyone for me so i can observe other's better." It made sense somehow.
"I get to see everyone else and how they work and i can see things that others cant"

He was just stuffy that's all. She should find that mate of his and tell her to love all that grump out of him

He nodded slowly as he turned away from the female. "If you'll excuse me... I told my mate that I would return to her and I always keep my word."

"There isn't a balance if you always look at the bad though." She didn't -always- look at the good. She knew there was bad in there, she just liked to make the most out of those bad things.
She got up and moved away so she could continue on toward her eventual destination, where ever that was. "You should look up more often." With that she ducked into the grasses away from the drying pond.
