"Perily, but you may call me Riley." She sat down on her bed, before turning on one of the gas lamps that were placed by the beds. She took a book off the nightstand, and began to read.

"Nice to meet you Riley." He laid on the bed and looked up at the celieing.He took out a laptop and began to type. He wasn't a good writer but he loved to write anyways.

Destany had brought her laptop outside. She sat on a hill while looking out to a body of water. She started to type a story about a boy named Micheal. Destany wrote it while blasting cannibal corpse. She continued to write with a blank face.

He herd the music and got up and he put his lap top in his book bad and swung it over his shoulder walking outside towards the sound. He came to the top of a hill, behind the source of the sweet sound. "That's a good song." He mutterd

"Huh?" She said turning around as she heard him. She then stood up. "Oh thanks." She said sitting back down and typing up somemore. Destany then changed to a different song.

"Why are they bringing laptops?" Riley muttered. "The batteries won't last longer than two hours, maybe not even that long." She opened her music box, as the tinkling notes of Au Clair De Lune filled the air she grabbed a five dollar bill out of the box then slammed it shut, not wanting to hear the song anymore. She stood up and walked out of the dorms. There was a cafe not that far down, and owned by a witch, students got a discount on the coffee and bread. She was particularly taken with the pumpkin bread, and Gryffin was always happy when she brought home the house blend with skim milk.

"My lap tops rigged, by my little brother. As long as his computers on mine will work. I only use it though to write letters to him, he's the only family I have left so we attempt to keep one another posted on how we are doing." He said glumly. Why do people always ask me why I carry it.. Ugh I hate that.

"Of course you can sit and well my laptop is just there, I've never needed to charge it czu it came with no cord and nothing so I just leave it." She said typing a little more to her story.

Riley went into the cafe, which had decked out for the new students.
"Hey Rails!" The cafe owner grinned. She gave all her frequent customers nicknames, usually based on already established ones, and Riley was her favorite customer. "No little Dragon?" She pouted. Her red curls were tied up in a ponytail and her green eyes were sparkling though she looked sad.
"Hey Charlie! No, Gryffin's asleep, but I thought I'd get him a drink."
"The usual?" The cafe owner got to making it.
"Yeah, and I'd like a couple of your iced pumpkin lattes, I have a roommate and I'd like to welcome him." She smiled.
"Of course hun!" In a few minutes Charlie had the order ready. "Four dollars."
Riley handed her the money and took the drinks. She left the cafe and went back to the dorms. She walked over to Matt and Destany. "Hey, I got you a welcome drink!" She smiled warmly, handing them both the iced coffees.

"Thanks..."Destany said still having a blank expression. "I am so happy I have made some friends." She said so blank it was almost pathetic. She took a drink and took a sip. "It's delicous. She seemed like everything she said was sarcastic.

Riley smiled weakly. Sarcasm. She nodded. "Okay, bye." Gryffin came running out, hopping at her and barking. "Gryffin!" She stepped back, and tripped over. Her mind lost itself and her pumpkin bread caught fire. She fell back, the coffee spilling all over her face and shirt. Gryffin hopped onto her chest and licked the coffee off. "Gryffin!" She shrieked, shaking her head against his tongue.

"Want some help?" She said sounding sarcastic again. "And just so you know I always speak and look this way. I'm nto just being sarcastic, justwanted to tell you since everyone thinks so." She said looking at Riley. "I'm Destany by the way."

"Riley." She smiled. "And this is Gryffin." Gryffin barked, and licked Riley's cheek. "The coffee drinking familiar." She shoved Gryffin off and sat up, putting out the bread fire. She smiled weakly. "As you can tell I'm a mental witch with pyrokinesis."
