I remember you from the UGMF. You were so deadfast in saying that Hitler wasn't a coward. XD
But Nice pics BTW.
I've always wanted to do 20th century wars in reenactments.

Sadly, there's not much call for female re-enactment in my area. I would LOVE to dress up in colonial outfits.
(Hey, if anyone's in the Philadelphia area and knows info to the contrary, let me know!)

I'll be honest. There's plenty room for females. I've done some War of 1812 events up in Canada and they just had the girls dressed up like soldiers. It kind of throws you off a bit when you see their hats off though...O.o;;

Sure, there were women who pretended to be men to join the militia. But what about the women who contributed or took part in the war in other ways?

It's the Philadelphia area, there has to be something. Nice pictures everyone! Sadly, the closet I get to reenacting is the Renaissance Faire which doesn't count for much...which reminds me, I must get sewing soon... sweatdrop

AUGH! RENFAIRE!! I went last year, it was a blast! Wish I had time again this year... You could spend all day there and not see everything there is. I wish I could afford to buy the outfit I saw... It looked almost exactly like my avi's wench outfit. xd

I found patterns online for skirt so I'm going to make that but I'm buying a chemise and maybe a bodice but that would be the last thing since it's not nessary.

Does anyone but me live near South Bend, IN. If you do you should read this, because I'am going.
ATTENTION ALL RE-ENACTING TIME PERIODS.
The South Bend, IN Honor Park and Museum is hosting their 2nd annual Timeline event for July 18-20, 2008. This event is located on several acres of excellent living history land with shade and plenty of room for everyones encampment and very vehicle friendly. So feel free to bring your horses, carts, Jeeps, trucks, cannons, and what ever else you may have. The Honor Park will be providing all of our water, firewood, straw, breakfast (doughnuts/coffee) and lunch. cool All re-enactors will get free access to the museum during the event. There are two public battles each day. One for Civil War and one for WWII re-enactors. As this event grows we will have battles for other time periods as well. Please feel free to PM with any questions or if you need d irections to the event.
Military Honor Park is west of downtown South Bend at 4477 Progress Drive (Main entrance of the South Bend Regional Airport). Outdoor mlitary park and indoor museum. Displays include airplanes, tanks, weaponry, uniforms, small artifacts, research library and gift shop. Volunteers at Museum and event were very accomodating and provided food (burgers, brats) for re-enactors who attended last year.......

Man, these are awesome. I'm not sure if you could count them as a reenactment, but I work at the Texas Renaissance Festival. I'm getting a picture of my full costume (with my period coat), but here's a small snippit for now, with my..non-period coat at a convention (me crew begged me to go x-o): Most of the costume I made myself, except the hat and gloves. My friend made the coat.
