Ilmare smiled, still a little embarassed. What was wrong with her? Her stomach felt weird, as did the rest of her. "Of course Chagi." The lioness replied, following the male as her mind attempted to sort things out. What could cause such a change in her body after just one night?
Hold on...she couldn't be...could she? If she was she was excited, but she couldn't quite think of a way to tell Chagi.

As the slowly made their way out of the forested area and out onto the open beach Chagi was sure to keep as close as possible to Ilmare. He wasn't the biggest of lions but enough so that their shoulders where almost touching, with every step his tail would fling from side to side occasionally brushing against hers playfully. All that could past through his mind was a mental sigh, he felt so relaxed, no need to hide his true self or put up a face to impress anyone. Chagi was sure in his love for Ilmare and he'd messed up around her enough times to know that if she still wanted him then she must love him too. It was all very reassuring and lovely enough to make most of the other inhabitance of the isle bring up there breakfast but Chagi liked it and that was the important thing.
Whilst his gaze looked out into the warm waters of the sea he couldn't help but chuckle, it seemed there were a few cubs and pups pouncing around on each other and playing. "Bless 'em" One day he'd like cubs of his own.. if Anthur could manage it Chagi was pretty convinced in him self. But he wouldn't mention it to Ilmare not yet, it was all too soon and he hadn't wanted to scare her away with taking things way to fast. So he simple tuned his smile on his mate and nuzzled her lovingly, brushing off the sand to clear an area for his beloved to perch comfortably.

It felt so nice, the weather was perfect and there were even cubs playing on the beach, some she had never seen before. Wondering if all of them were unsupervised she looked around for an adult, seeing a deep red lioness with glowing flecks on her legs, face and tail that looked too old to have any cubs of her own, though clearly enjoyed them. The lioness noticed Chagi and Ilmare and smiled warmly, still sitting in the shade of a palm tree as a young red and pink male ran up to her, wanting her to play with him.
Maybe this was a good time to try and tell him, or at least hint to it. "Cubs are so adorable, don't you think Chagi?" Ilmare began, trying to sound casual.

Chagi could help but enjoy the scenary and its inhabitance, it made his smile warmer and brighter "T'at t'ey are. t'ey fun to" he chuckled thinking back to a few days previous having visited Illmares brother, adpoted or not it felt like his family now and those cubs certainly where adorable.
Without thinking he let his thoughts be known "One day t'em little rascals could be ours. Our own scampering about!" he twitched his wings in excitment. If it ever was to be he was sure looking forward to it but wait... what if Ilmare hadn't wanted any? Or even considered it! Was he going to fast? Taking in a deep gulp he turned to his love "Not t'ats t'ere be any 'urry... I mean.." He began to stutter for word... he really was a big doofus always dig himself a whole and was very likely about to push himself in.

A wave of relief swept over the green lioness before Chagi turned to her. For some reason that last sentence made her give a great laughing smile, the one that forces you to close your eyes and throw your head either forward or back. "It's alright Chagi! And you know what? That day may come sooner than you think." She replied, nuzzling into his mane.

"Soo...sooner?" he was getting past the embarassment as she laughed but the statement took him completely off guard. Could she.. he was struggling with the though not for the usual reasons he wanted a family and felt prepared, the circumstances where just right but his dreams... by the time his brain caught up he eyes where wide and his tail was swaying happly. "Illmare.. Chagi's Beautiful Illmare, could you be?"
Yes there it was the realizaion that after a large breakfast and a straigh forward statement it seemed to be enough to bring him to a suitable conclusion. It was as if he was hanging by a thread for her answer, to either means of an end to the convesation they both would be good. Cubs now or Cubs later it was all fitting and Chagi was tempted to nibble his arm to check he had in fact woken up.

Ilmare couldn't help but smile at her new mate. "I believe so." She said, sitting before him in the white sand. The lioness began to wonder if all this was too soon or ill-prepared, it was hard for her to tell by Chagi's reaction. Overall he seemed happy, or so the swaying of his tell seemed to say.

Without hesitation Chagi swooned in and nuzzled his mate lovingly then after a minute or two he stepped back and closed his eyes, pressing his nose onto her and whispered. "O' Illmare... Chagi never t'oug't 'e could be t'is happy. T'ank yous."
He really was over whelmed with joy, he had no bad thoughts about struggling with this or that or taking things to soon and his tail only swayed smoothly from one side to the next. His wings completely relaxed and his mane slightly ruffled by the breeze.

"I'm glad." The lioness replied happily to her mate. "For a few moments I wasn't sure how to tell you and if you'd like it." Ilmare admitted a little shyly, her tail searching for his. "It took a little while to realize it, but now it makes sense. How hungry I was this morning." And still kinda am. She thought to herself, chuckling in her mind.
Now her mind was begining to wander, thinking about all the possibilities. "I wonder how many we'll have?" The green lioness thought aloud, looking out at the sky. "What seems like the right size family to you?" Her head turned as she looked at his face.

If he'd like it? That certainly made Chagi chuckle he had loved spending time around the triplets even if they were all girls, they were a blessing for sure and now that he would have his own. His mood was on the peek of ecstatic, all the thoughts revolving around his head involved how he would treat them and love them unconditionally, how Ilmare looked even more radiant with a motherly glow about her. Chagi wanted nothing more than to have her comfortable and to relax "Chagi will catc' a lunch snack!" his maw lit up proud to have a purpose!
He'd began to turn towards the sea when the questions began, the perfect family.. "Any family wit' yous my love but for the first litter..." a pondered expression passed his maw. "Chagi would say... one of each, a beautiful gal an' a strong c'arming boy" nodding he brushed up against her and nuzzled her belly whispering he intended for only his un-born children to hear.
"Daddies goinga look after yous good, and give yous anyt'ing yous want. I love you."

The lioness giggled at the male as he whispered to her belly, what he said she was unable to hear. It warmed her heart to have a mate such as Chagi, he was sweet and caring, considerate for others...she would have been a fool to not love him back. "Lunch sounds delicious." Ilmare replied, licking her maw. Now they needed names. A boy and a girl sounded wonderful...for a boy she liked Enki. When Chagi got back from fishing she'd ask him what names he liked.

Bringing his head up to Ilmares back he ran his tail along her side as he winked and bounded off towards the ocean. His feet gaining speed and wings brought in tight until he'd reached the edge, with a flick of his large white feathered wings he had taken to the air. As he began to glide swiftly across the water he occasionally taped his tail down to make a splash, a refreshing cool water droplet was enough to make him chuckle from time to time. There were many small fish around but that would not do he was feeding four now and although he wasn't the most skilled hunter he was positive he'd catch more than a nibble. With a keen eye he'd scan the water until he saw something that seemed fitting enough a large bass equal to half his adult size now for the serious bit.
Purposefully over shooting his prey he gained air and turned back his eyes never leaving the target within second he was within range again and swooped down with a splash. As water flew everywhere and ripples remained where the autumn lion had made his dive nothing re-surfaced for quite some time... then a head sprung up and with a muffled roar he held between his teeth the bass. Half flailing, half swimming he made his way back to shore having to use his paw to relief some of the weight of the kill, completely drenched he climbed out but still managed to regain his composure enough to slink back to his lady. Plopping down the fish and baming with Pride and joy once more, it was all worth it, he had a use and a purpose and that alone made him feel wanted.
"For yous my lady Ilmare" Without thinking he shook all over to rid himself of some of the sea water, although the hot sun had already began to dry his fur it still left enough to shoot droplets everywhere.

Ilmare closed her eyes as Chagi left to go fishing. Such a lucky lioness was she, she couldn't stop thinking about it. She decided to go ahead and decide what they could name their cubs and tell Chagi when he got back.
Which didn't seem like it took that long at all, for when she opened her eyes her mate was coming ashore with a very large fish. "Oh my-Chagi! I didn't know you could catch something like that!" She exclaimed as he dropped it close by. "It looks delicious no matter the size, though." Ilmare began to lick the fish, giggling as the spray of water from his coat hit her. "I was trying to think of names for the cubs, but I could only think of a boy name: Enki. What do you think?"

Back in his birth pride fish was the main course with every meal, it was easy to catch and delicious to eat in a variety of ways. As he grew it was simple to learn and become adapt to the ways of the fisherman and he thanked his upbringing for allowing him to supplie for his growing family. Turning to nod at his mate he concluded in his head the names of his children, without thought to whether the possibility of more than one of each gender, that would have to wait till the birth.
"Liqui and Enki, beautiful names my love. Yous know anyt'ing from yous lips is beautiful" He grinned and took his seat besides his queen and let out a chuckle, he'd never considered Ilmare as queen before, did that make him a king? What a interested conclusion.
From wondering worthless and meaningless to this, it was more than he could ask for but the thought of being a king was a little over-whelming still it was funny and he couldn't help but chuckle. Leaning into Ilmare he beamed "Eat up m'lady, a Queen needs to have her strength"

( TIME WARP! Yeah, I don't feel like going into detail, so Enki and Liqui are already here. xD ) Weeks later the green lioness lay peacefully in the half shade of a tree, laying in soft green grass. Her rough tongue affectionately passed over the bodies of two newborn cubs, a boy and a girl. Ilmare purred as she cleaned them before their father saw them, proud to have produced such lovely and healthy cubs with him. "Chagi will be so proud of us." She said softly, nuzzling both cubs.
Enki squirmed at the nuzzling as he tried to nurse, huddling close to his sister. It wasn't that he didn't like the nuzzling, but he was really hungry.
"Enki and Liqui." She said, purring louder and positively growing with pride.
