He didn't laugh at her hiding behind the basket, even though it was funny. He just grinned at her. "Christian," he said, shoving a thumb at his chest. "You can call me Chris. And you're right, we do look like we go together."
He looked around. "So where should we start?" he asked.
Antony dropped down on a bench to the side, looking at his boots. "I'm going to have to get these cleaned," he said, sighing as he looked at the kids playing. "Was I ever like that?"
"Not at all," Shade said honestly. "You would have been complaining about your boots. Just as you are right now."

He caught up with her and laughed happily. "Les race," he proposed. Not like he'd try to win. If someone else got their feelings hurt and it was his fault, well, that'd be bad. But it'd get them there before all the other kids. "To swing, that one." Carlisle pointed it out with his free hand; in his other, he swung the basket around, even when it scraped against the ground rather loudly.

Nataya nodded, moving to stand next to Carlisle. "Okies!" she agreed, nodding once to show she understood the rules. "On go?" she asked, tilting her head to the side. After all, in a race, wasn't that the word everyone ran on? Or was it "three"? She couldn't remember....the stories Mommy had read her showed it differently. But, one thing was always the same; it looked like fun, even if you didn't win!

As the brief moment of uncertain crossed the younger girl's face, Aurora was prepared to help in some way. Then she seemed to cheer up and Rory smiled. "We look together!" she said, holding out a hand to the smaller girl. She was cute!
Then she looked around for a place to start. The swings were already claimed, and so were some bushes. "We go look over at jungle gym?" she asked both of them.

"Okay," he agreed. "Ready, settee, go!" He bounded off one big step and hoped Nataya moved because now that he was going, he really wanted to just run all the way to the swingset. Carlisle looked about quickly and took another big step.

Orli looked around the playground, thinking. Nahuel and Ranza had claimed the bushes. Someone was over at the swings. But... it looked like there was no one on the jungle gym just yet! She pointed to it, already imagining it to be a giant fairytale castle with high towers and glittering walls.
"Castle!" she said. "Let's look there!"
She looked hopefully at Chris and Rory.

She grinned, starting to run towards the swings, giggling. She wasn't that fast, but she wasn't slow, either. She smiled at Carlisle as she caught up to his two steps, running ahead a little. She didn't go to far ahead; she wanted to make sure he could catch up!

He followed, leaping happily, but never quite passing Nataya. Once they got to the swings, Carlisle stopped and smiled. "You wins!" Then he clapped a few times before getting down to the real business- finding those eggs! He hunted one out inside one of the little swings and grabbed it; then he offered it to Nataya. "S'purple," he told her, by way of explanation as to why he wasn't keeping it for himself.

Chris looked at the basket, then at the two little girls before handing Rory the pink atrocity. "You carry this," he told her. "Pink isn't my color."
He grinned evilly, his tail flicking back and forth behind him as he got up and paused, looking at the tree that Shade had been up. "I want to make a quick trip up there before we go to the jungle gym."

Nataya grinned, clapping her hands together once. "Yay!" she said happily. She then blinked as he offered her an egg he'd found. It was pretty and purple! But still.... "No, you keep. You finded it!" she said, smiling as she shook her head. "I find eggs so you keep yours!" She then headed off to find an egg forherself, but didn't go too far. She found one nestled in the wood chips. "Finded one!" she said cheerfully, picking up the green egg.

Carlisle was muddling around the bottom of one of the supporting poles. Something about the pile of woodchips at the bottom looked awkward, and he nudged it a little. No, it'd just been kicked up. He smoothed it out and smiled again. "Yay!" Now they were even. All things being fair now, he prowled around the swingset and searched for another egg.

At Antony's reply, Casia frowned in disappointment, her grip on her basket loosening. Anna didn't hesitate to step in and set a hand on the siren's shoulder. "We'll go find some other eggs and hatch them later, okay?" she suggested. The little girl nodded, making a weak smile. She'd hoped so much she'd be able to have a fluffy little bird for a companion, and on Easter, too.
All of a sudden everyone was off, grabbing eggs left and right! Casia gave a chirp of surprise and looked around wildly, unsure what to do. Giving a helpless look to her guardian and getting a "GO!" yelled back, she began running off to the playground, confused and excited at the same time. She ran for the sandbox, but upon leaping at it, one of her feet hooked on to the rim of it, sending her face-first into the sand.
She immediately pulled her head out of the sand, shaking it wildly so that sand went flying, and her curls bounced back and forth. Grains of sand still clung to her cheeks, nose and eyelashes. She looked ready to cry, when something pink stuck out of the sand. "E... EGG!" she stammered, and grabbed it, clutching it tightly as though it were Nazi gold. That was one egg already! She stood up, waving the egg at Anna and the others in pride. Setting it gently in her basket, she bolted off to the back of the Center, still on the prowl for the plastic treasures.

Orli looked at the aforementioned tree and started in that direction. Something bright blue was nestled among the roots! She broke into a run and wrestled the egg out of its hiding spot.
"I find one!" she exclaimed, holding up her shiny blue plastic prize for Rory and Chris to see.
Elsewhere, Nahuel and Ranza were being rather successful in their little venture. Nahuel had made the first find - a spring green egg the size of his fist - but Ranza had an eye for treasure. She had already amassed a small hoard of two purple eggs and a yellow one.

"Good!" Rory cheered her, holding on to the two baskets in her hands. Chris had started to developed this little wicked streak since he grew. But that was okay, he was still Chris.
And the new girl was cute! She already liked Orli.
As she waited for Chris to exam the rest of the tree, she heard someone else say they found an egg. Looking over, Rory spotted Casia hunting eggs seemingly alone. A little frown crossed her lips before she called out to the other girl. "Hey Casia! Wanna hunt eggs with Orli, Chris and I?" she offered.

Kisala showed up a bit after most of the kids had showed up, but she didn't mind being behind-- she was bigger than most of them anyways. She saw a few faces she recognized, but she didn't know any of them too well. Besides, she wanted to find some eggs!
The girl hunted through the grass, pouncing on one and stuffing it in her basket before she caught up to the others.
"Allo everybody!" she called cheerfully.
