Lan blinked. This girl was odd in a sense and Lan didnt know if he was supposed to be intimidated or intrigued. Closing his menu and carefully laying it on the table like Mia had, Lan rubbed the side of his head. "I was exploring around the alleys in Amies...and found Sona, a cat that I adopted." He paused and smiled sheepishly. "I chased him into one of the older waterways of the town and found my bottle in a place where rainwater had collected and been stored." He stretched his hands behind him and looked around as a waiter started coming their way.
She was acting so casual about it...but then again that was the best way to look normal when talking about completely outrageous things. "A tree?" He smiled. "You're right, that is an odd place to find a bottle." He wondered how the paint was drying back home absently, and shook his head of all distracting thoughts to get back on track with the other.

Mia became silent and thought for a moment, "So you found your bottle in rain water and you call it moody... why is it moody exactly?" She asked while wondering where the waiter or waitress was.

Lan shrugged, ordering some very rich sounding dessert as the waiter came by to take some orders. He glanced back over at Mia with a shrug and the shake of his head, trying to figure out how he could explain this. "I dunno." he said finally and looked at his fingernails, stretching them out and realizing he was being kind of shy about the entire subject about the things he had no idea about. "It just....well. It has this dark swirl around it thats always changing around, and its always shaped differently when I come to check on it." He paused wondering if he was making any sense at all. Looking at Mia, he smiled sheepishly. "It just kind of seems that way to me...ya know?"

Mia ordered a simple turkey sandwich with a side salad, and turned back to the man in front of her. "Well Mine swirls too but I'm not calling it chipper or anything." She chuckled. "By the way you never mentioned you name."she commented randomly, feeling a bit off for talking to someone for so long without knowing their name.

Lan blinked as the food came and he almost died at the sight of such a yummy looking thing. He would definately need to steal the recipe somtime. Sticking a bit into his mouth to see if it tasted as good as it looked, Lan blinked and smiled sheepishly. "Oh, I'm Lan." Apparently he had forgotten. Silly him. Though it was what he did most of the time even if he didnt mean it. Maybe he had lost his memory somehow early, because he frequently forgot things like due dates and days for work and what not. Thus the unique invention of a planner. But not really. "Well, maybe its the color that makes me think that." Lan shrugged, wondering how he could possibly explain something like that.

Mia took a bite of her food to give her time to think. She honestly believed this guy didn't know anything and to be quite frank she felt that she would have had a better chance with the merchant.
Oh well too late to turn back now. At least maybe seeing his bottle may help her realize a few things about hers. With a slight gesture to her bottle she reaffirmed that it was safely tucked away in its pouch before she continued. "Well what color is it?" She asked before taking a sip of water.

Lan bit into his chocolate molten lava cake which looked like it was going to explode from the rich tendrils of fine fudge and tried not to go and hug the chef for making such a wonderful thing. He glanced at Mia as she asked her question and blinked once then twice and cocked his head to the side in thought. "Its a darkblue and gray." He said around another bite of his oh so delicious dessert. "And it has lighter tones on it somewhere, but for the most part, its just that." Lan sighed happily at the one thing that was usually good no matter where he was. Food. Lunch. Whatever he deemed it at the time. Thank god for good food or he'd be in major trouble. "Isnt yours light pink and blue?"

"Well yeah." Mia replied in between bites of food while looking back and forth to ensure that no one was looking. She took another bite of her food. It was nearly halfway gone now. Mai may be small but she had a killer metabolism and ate a lot. So putting a plate away was nothing for her.
"Have you talked to anyone yet about it? I was about to see this merchant myself...." She mused after asking the question before proceeding to munch on a random vegetable on her plate.

"Nah." Lan shook his head and returned to his cake in thought. A merchant? Why? He wondered about this, not really knowing much about the marketing area other then how to buy things. Lan cocked an eyebrow and leaned back in his chair, chewing on some fudge. He absolutely adored chocolate and it would be horrible if he even thought he was allergic to it. "I dont know if I want to really....I kind of want to try and figure it out myself first if I can...and of not, well..." he paused wondering. He didnt really know what he would do if he didnt figure it out. All in all, he blamed Sona. But that was okay, because Lan didnt mind the fact that Sona had led him to it. An adventure, kind of atleast.

Mia set her fork down, finished with her meal, "This particular merchant doesn't buy or sell, he can identify items." She looked at her company "I'm not going to sell something so unique I'm not that dumb. Although I have to agree with you... I do want to watch and see if it changes any more. I mean the spirals...yours has gone from a normal bottle to having these whisp-ies right?"

Lan glanced over at her with an eyebrow raised. "Oh really?" he asked curiously, around another bite of cool icecream as he easily paid the check, inwardly mourning his loss in money even though the cake had been excellent. "Yes, it does have whisps around it now. After like, two days of being with it atleast." Lan waved his spoon then munched another bite of icecream and cake. "Well, if he does know what it is, would you care to tell me what he says?"

"Sure, if I decide to see him again, I'll contact you and tell you what he says." Mia responded, raising her hand for the check. "You said that you were going to show me your bottle, you are still going to right?" She asked, hoping that the man hadn't become to weirded out by her conversation thus far.

"Haha, of course I'll still show you it." He said, finishing and standing up. "So then, shall we go?" He asked kindly, gesturing towards the door and wondering if Sona would be okay with newcomers in the house at all. He was fine with Willow and Jeckal, so hopefully he'd be okay with Mia as well. Tasting the chocolate in the back of his mouth, Lan savoured the taste and waited for Mia's answer, seeing as his apartment wasnt too far from there as it was.

Mia put her payment on the table, checked her pouches and joined Lan in standing, "Yes, please lead on." She gestured towards the door and waited for him to start out. She wondered how far it was to his place, and further whether or not this would be how she spent her entire day.
But she was curious how his bottle looked, differed from hers, and she was starting to get really curious as to what the bottle really was. Knowing of more than one just made it all the more interesting.
I mean who knew a simple modest Fruit gatherer would be able to enjoy so much excitement over a single bottle?

Lan lead the way out casually, sidling down the walkway and turning corners making sure he didnt lose Mia along the way. Nearing the apartment complex, he opened the door and gestured the girl in before closing it behind him and beginning up the flight of stairs until they reached the right floor. Insterting the key, Lan opened the door to the odd apartment and was greated with the sight of a flying blur. Sona jumped him so quickly that the young adult barely had time to react before the cat was on his shoulder prodding him and seeming to say "why'd you leave me alone so much?" Laughing, Lan turned to Mia and gestured her in before introducing his cat. "Sona, this is Mia. Shes a...friend. Mia, this is Sona. My cat." He let the cat jump down and then idled along into the living room, painting intricate colors that seemed to make it alive with creativity.
Walking up to the mantle, he gingerly took down the bottle that had been where it was when he left it and turned to Mia with it in his hands. "This is the bottle I found." he said as the mist swirled steadily along his hands and arms, loosely flaring when he touched it and regrouping around his fingers. "Odd isnt it?"
