Chaos of Vincent
I found this post in old threads that I used to visit. I haven't been on in forever so this is from last year. I thought some good points were made on all sides though. My comments are all over the place.

Kairi Bashing

There are some great debaters in there, such as Rema and Raion. Too bad they don't seem to be around anymore.
xD She makes a good point. Now Kairi reminds me a lot of my ex. Even more reason to hate her... >.>....

@Leo: I third that. o.o

I'm sorry if this is a bit late sweatdrop

But, I don't get why people say Sora is the one needing to be rescued all the time. I often find myself thinking that, just because of his stupid-silly grin ( it makes me melt all the time, I'm not dissing it ). But, really, in the end of Kingdom Hearts (SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED THE GAME) doesn't Sora end up saving everyone and having enough strength to close the door of darkness, even though his best friend is trapped behind it? I mean strength emotionally, not physically. I wouldn't be able to do that if one of my best friends would be trapped in there and have no idea of when or if they would get out. Even if my friend said it was okay, I wouldn't do it.
Sora is a much stronger person than everyone supposes he is. He saves the day and now everyone's making Riku be the one who saves him from the... the... whatever you people have Riku save him from. (Can't think of an example, sorry sweatdrop ) Don't get me wrong, I like those stories too, but it's getting old how Sora is always the damsel in distress and Riku is the knight in shining armor. I would just like to see one fic where the places are switched xd That would rock.

*applauds* Yes, exactly! Really, Sora is a lot stronger than people give him credit for...

I posted a fic where Sora has to save Riku in the fanfic section. I didn't write it though. It's called "Bind to Thee."

i read a fanfiction called '' legend of the paopu '' with sora and riku. then the artist killed it by letting a kid' who hadn't even beaten the game continue to write it.. stressed

Wow, what a stupid move by the author. o_O Well, I guess you don't necessarily need to see the end scene to know the characters...As long asthe person who's continuing the fic has seen the more important scenes, like on the first day on Destiny Islands, and their meetings in Traverse Town, Monstro, and Hollow Bastion...

Also, please use proper grammar while posting! Thank you!

I'm not really sure why Sora is almost always portrayed as having his innocence taken. Though, in my opinion, both yaoi/shounen ai and shota fans alike seem to enjoy the simple though of the innocent losing their virginity. Perhaps it is the fact that their virginity is being taken that makes it so thrilling. Also, the uke of a relationship is often expressed quite perversly in the act of 'love making'. redface

Maybe there's a little bit of a sadisticness inside everyone thats comes out in those kinds of situations, so somewhere in our minds we're enjoying the pain, whether we know it ends up good or not. And the fact that its sex drives our hormones even further into the concept. I hope I'm making sense... sweatdrop

Please let me know if I'm making absolutely no sense at all. I can't really word what I mean....It's very diffucult.

And my opinion on who will approach the other first would have to be that Sora would be the first to go to Riku in a relationship. Riku seems like the type to sort of hide his feelings maybe even from possible embarassment, ESPECIALLY if its about his emotions. He wants to sort of keep his role as the tough guy who never falters, which means that showing his soft side and getting REJECTED would definitely be a 'no no'.
Sora is more open minded when it comes to his feelings. I don't think he'd be afraid to admit he likes Riku, even to his face.Maybe he would be a tad shy about the subject but I think Sora would approach Riku instead of vis vera.

Everyone here has presented good arguments - that can't be denied.

However, the way we seem to be going about it is not (in my personal opinion) correct. We need to act a bit more as if they were real, live human beings who we know and are close to. Because they are meant to be human charecters, and humans cannot be so easily defined. Of course, it is significantly easier to analyze them then real people, but that doesn't mean we should change the methods. A real eye-opener for me on the personalitys of Riku and Sora was the fanfiction Stygian Solstace (or however you spell that). That was because the author showed them in drastically different situations then the one's we are used to them being in - but kept in realistic, and very in-charecter. Essentially, s/he switched their roles - making Riku the keyblademaster and so on...

And in this, I found Riku lacking many things. Sora as well. But they also had many traits that I had not forseen. I do not mean traits that I just read - I mean things that I considered, thought about, and concluded for myself that they were or were not true.

Sora has tremendous inner-strength, and so does Riku. But they are of different kinds - and they both go through changes through KH and KHCOM (I refuse to discuss KH2, because I know some spoilers and I don't want to accidently reveal anything.).

During KH, Riku was very weak in that he ended up making himself sort of... a shell, in an effort to further his goals. He gave up much of himself that was important, and essentially rejected his own heart, belifes, and emotions because he saw them as misleading and weak. However, he grows quite a bit during KHCOM, coming to terms with the darkness inside of him, among other issues.

Sora, on the other hand, actually seems to weaken a little as time goes on, as if he was running on adrenaline and it was wearing off. During KHCOM, he deffinitly starts breaking down, but at the end re-builds his strength.

By "inner-strength" I mean, essentially, the strength of their hearts - and not in KH terms, neccisarily.

Then, after that, there are numerous personality traits to go over...

... And I have to leave right now, so I'll post more later.

Ah, Stygian Solace--the one fic by Uzumaki-sama I can't seem to get through for some reason...><

Anyway, good analysis. I'd love to hear more. :3

You know, on the topic of 'losing innocent and what not', I think there is a veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery thin line in which we titter back and forth on. Because if someone doesn't like the sex when its happening and they cry, somehow we like this. But when it turns out the two having sex love each other at the end its all the better. So technically, in a way, we are interested in the semi-rape but still love, kind of fanfiction and fanart. And even then I guess molestion can fit kind of in the middle of that very thin line.
