Ai nodded at Shoji, moving to walk next to him as she glanced back at the two sitting there. If she knew better, she would have stayed with them. Plucking at her shirt nervously, Ai tried it. "M-maybe I should stay..." She looked down, knowing that if she stayed there would be a better chance for a fight, but there would also be a good chance she could stop it. She didn't want anyone to get hurt. "I-I mean because... it seems secret what you're doing right now." The girl mumbled, keep her eyes on her hands as she worried the edge of her shirt. "And I don't... want to intrude..." She hoped she didn't sound too strange or conspicuous. She didn't want him thinking that something was up. She really wanted to see Ku!

Shoji stood there now looking back at Ai as he heard her speak. She didn't sound very sure of herself. The way she spoke made him wonder what she was thinking. Then again he hadn't forgotten about what he had learned from Kazumi. He wasn't sure if letting her stay was a good idea. Would he find her here when he returned? Did he care anymore? "I'm not going to force you to come if you don't want to." He spoke rather plainly, not hinting towards whether he cared or not. He turned to go off towards the city a ways ahead. "So, if you're going to stay then go ahead." What he was doing he supposed wouldn't be exactly something he wanted everyone to know so it was best off leaving her here. This way he could get rid of that pendant he had taken up and then he could be on his way towards whatever was left.

Ai glanced up at what he said, surprised but grateful. "Then I'll stay." She said it decisively, watching Shoji for a moment before smiling slightly. "Good luck with your... um... whatever it is that you're doing." Backing up slightly, she opened her mind and yelled, KU! SAI! RAI! Come and find me!

There was rush of voices in her head and she knew they would come, and she would wait. Ignoring the stare she was getting from T'kaa, Ai moved to stand next to Kazumi.

Shoji said nothing as he watched Ai for a moment before turning and walking away. He would be back soon enough and whether he found Ai here or not wasn't something he thought he needed to care about. He briefly spared a glance back to see Kazumi staring after him for a moment but he turned away to look where he was going. He didn't need to think on some girl he had just met regardless of who she reminded him of.

Shoji walked for some time, not that long really, before he caught sight of the town. He didn't pick up his pace even with the town in sight. He wasn't sure why but didn't bother to think on it. He now just focused on finding the place he needed to go to. He was sure he would recognize it when he saw it. He recalled the directions he was given perfectly. He just needed to take care of what needed to be done and then be on his way.

Ai watched as Shoji left, keeping her wide, innocent gaze on him until he disappeared into the forest beyond; then she opened her mind to the dragons and the call of their voices. She wanted to see Ku so badly that it tore at her heart to know she had been gone from his side for so long. She set her gaze on the sky and listened for them, not paying attention as T'kaa kept his wise, black eyes fixed on her. Rai! Sai! She could hear her dragon in her head, louder and louder as they came closer and she didn't make any indication that she cared if the other two knew exactly what she was doing.

It was scarcely a minute later when there was the loud, earth trembling roar of her linked dragon. She could see him as he darted from the sky, his blue scales shimmering and gleaming in the rage of having been kept from her for even that short amount of time. Ku followed on Rai soon after, her red scales crackling in the equal fury she felt simmering just below Ku's skin. They didn't take their time and were soon circling the clearing with Kazumi, T'kaa and Ai in it.

"Ai!" Ku spotted her and he would have urged his dragon down if he didn't also spot the basilisk who stood still as a statue to the side. He didn't look it in the eyes and quickly warned Sai and Rai of the danger. They pulled back a little bit, but just a bit, and he yelled to the dragon who belonged to the boy that stole his sister, "My sister comes with me!"

Kazumi wasn't at all [pleased with how things seemed to be turning out. Her gaze had come to first focus on where Shoji was last seen then soon enough seemed to focus on the skies above. Although Kazumi had been told what Ai had been up to she had somewhat hoped that these dragons of hers would show up with that male she recalled seeing before. However, it seemed it was inevitable. Here they were and she had to deal with it. But she wondered what Shoji would want for her to do. He had spoken with her but it wasn't as if he gave orders to keep her with them. Did he want them to take her? If she allowed such would Shoji be happy to be rid of her or would it be the opposite? She had to admit she had take a bit of a linking to the girl but she couldn't let that cloud her judgement. Ai may have preferred to go with these three but she was not to appease to Ai's needs but Shoji's. How should she go about this? Perhaps it was necessary to contact Shoji. Although he did say he wouldn't go about things differently.

There was was silence on Kazumi's part as she heard the human that had come for Ai. Her brother apparently. But that mattered not at the moment. She didn't see herself having time to consider it that is consider what to do on her own. She wondered why they hadn't simply come down to take Ai when she recalled she wasn't alone. Well, she never really forgot. It was that these matters, what was going on now, didn't really involve the basilisk here. Shoji. She directed this towards Shoji directly. Should I allow Ai to be taken? She asked this question with the intention of having it determine her next actions.

Shoji could see the city in sight as he had come to hear Kazumi's message. He stopped for a moment with a frown set on his features as he thought he had already come to terms with his decision. He hadn't taken her for a reason. If he desired to keep Ai with him he would have made her come along. Why didn't he make her come along? Well, he had left her and he had no intention of running back when he had already been aware of Ai's want to leave. He knew she was away from her dragon. He knew he had tried to run off earlier and did not expect her to stick around. She had showed already she could not really be trusted. Not as if she willingly came with him though. He might as well let her be, should he not? Just rid himself of her now. But then what did that mean for later. That meant when he was done here he would return to see Kazumi and perhaps the basilisk but that was it. Could he really give up on her now?

Leave her be. He didn't want Kazumi to get in any sort of fight without him there. He didn't consider going back now so he continued forward. He needed to get this over with and rid himself of this pendant so he could get the information he wanted in the process. He would not stop what he had originally planned to do simply because of this girl. This girl he would not admit he had taken the slightest liking to for he had yet to take her life. Really, he never really did what he had now. Going with random females...well, he didn't go about doing exactly what he had done now. Usually the females he had come across had nothing to do with dragons. He created no personal attachments to anyone or rather he would never again do such. That just made everything easier.

Kazumi found the answer she received to be one she wasn't sure if she should come to expect it or not. Now she could make her decision but did she really think to let Ai go. Now she did not wish to go against Shoji's wishes but after all that had occurred she thought he would at least wish to keep her around. It made her wonder if Shoji hadn't given his decision much thought or if he really did not care anymore since hearing of what she had said to him earlier about what Ai was doing. If he was upset or mad about anything that would only last for so long before he would come to think differently. If she did not let her go she would be going against Shoji's order but she really didn't believe he wanted such. Briefly did her gaze pass to Ai who she let her gaze linger on before looking back up to to the three in the sky. I cannot allow you to take her. She directed this to be heard by the one that had spoken to her. Not only to him though. It mattered not if anyone else heard in the small area they were in. She however wasn't sure what Shoji would think of this.

Sai fixed his gaze on the female dragon below him and bared his fangs, showing a long, sharp, toothy and dangerous grin. You would deny me my girl? His scales crackled more, the lightning dancing off them seemed to spark and tremble in his fury. He held himself in check and circled once more before coiling around the opening in the forest and landing so he could be face to face with the dragon that dared to keep him from his rider. The ground barely moved as his body settled there, and he ignored the shouts from Ku to remain in the air; his girl was more important. Should I take your boy from you to show what it's like to lose the one you're connected with? There was no malice in the words, only deadly certainty that chilled Ai to the bones. She knew what she had gone through not having Sai there with her, but she had no idea what it was like for the dragon to be without their rider. The thought terrified her if it was enough to make her gentle Sai turn into this threatening creature before her.

"Sai! Get back up here!" Ku glared at the blue dragon as he came face to face with the enemy. His glance went furtively to the basilisk and back, hoping the creature wouldn't try anything funny. "Sai! Your power is in the air! Get back up here!"

Kazumi kept her gaze focused on the dragon that spoke with her but she did not forget to mind the others here. She said nothing at first as she heard the first words by the dragon that apparently was with Ai. She needn't take a guess at why her words would be enough to make him give up on the girl. It wasn't like she made any kind of threat. In fact she didn't expect things to be simple. She watched as the male dragon had circled the area only to come and land by her to meet face to face which did surprise her. She made no move to react as she merely watched and listened. Of course she did not want Shoji to be taken from her. Even though she was aware of what the male dragon was referring to it changed nothing. She was rather determined to keep Ai. She was sure Shoji would want her to stay. However, considering it she realized if the task took more effort then she would expect, There was more then one dragon besides herself here after all, then it may be best to reconsider. Not to say she gave up so easily but she had technically disobeyed the words told to her, though she felt they were not what Shoji genuinely wanted, she had no desire to make things take a turn for the worse. She was aware the basilisk was still here but she wasn't exactly depending on him for anything. She had it in mind to take care of this as if she was dealing with it alone as it was matter simply concerning her and Shoji.

This wasn't about her giving up Ai because she could understand what this male dragon meant. It was just about her rider. With that Kazumi considered her response. She hadn't considered attacking for a fight was not what she wanted so she merely thought to speak. Say what you will, I still will not give the girl up. She wasn't going to try anything that would start a conversation. She just knew that if they tried to take her she would fight and she would do so until she knew she reached her limit regardless of how she was outnumbered here. She could not let Ai go just like that. Even if it was to be with this other rider with his dragon and the male dragon before her. She could make no exceptions. While she simply remained where she was she made no move to take a threatening pose. She simply remained calm but was ready to jump to action at any moment.

Shoji had come to proceed towards town now with his previous thoughts remaining unchanged. He just needed to get this over with so he picked up his pace. The quicker he was done with this the quicker he could leave. Not that he was in a rush to leave, it wasn't like there was anyone else here waiting for him besides Kazumi with Ai no longer being expected to be there, he could go about everything taking his time. Which would contradict the fact he had picked up his pace to hurry. Why was he thinking to hurry in the first place? He had to ask himself that but then he quickly brushed the thought aside. He needn't think on it now. It didn't seem like an important subject. He could see the town coming up but then he found himself stopping and looking back. Should he really just go on. Once he did he knew when he came back what he would no longer find or rather who. He found a faint frown briefly setting itself upon his features as he looked back. He had to do something. But what?

A faint sigh escaped slightly parted lips as Shoji turned around now. He couldn't really go on. If he was going to go then he could go with the thought of at least seeing Ai leave. Why he cared he didn't really bother to thin on. Besides he never really cared about anyone. Not anyone besides one person. This one person no longer being here though. Everyone else he could have cared less for. Everyone else he would not come to care if he watched them suffer or die a horrible death. Really, he wouldn't mind coming to assist with that either. It was the kind of person he turned out to be. So this complete change of character, even he noticed, bothered him. It seemed the best way to avoid that, to be rid of what caused this, was to be rid of Ai. That made sense, did it not? It was with that last thought that Shoji decided something. At the same time he took off in a run back the way he came. He would hope that Ai hadn't taken off just yet. Then he had low hopes of that with what he had mentioned to Kazumi. Perhaps he should tell her to keep her if she was still there. Then again he would leave it be. If she was gone then good riddance, right?

Ai looked back and forth between Kazumi and Sai, worried that something was going to happen. Were they going to fight? She held her necklace in her hand and looked up to Ku. "Ku!" Her voice sounded wavery, almost weak and she felt herself falling back into the personality that she had with her brother. He had always protected her, she could rely on him fully. Tears swam in her eyes and she suddenly darted toward Sai, hoping that if she could get on him and they could fly then maybe, maybe the fight wouldn't happen. "Sai! Let's get out of here!"

Sai narrowed his deep blue eyes on the female dragon, his body seemed to shimmer with the lightening that crossed them and he was about to lunge at the female when he noticed that Ai was running toward him. He sensed her thoughts and, knowing that was the best way, whipped his tail at Kazumi to distract her, hoping it would give Ai time to climb onto him so they could fly. Then, with Rai and himself, they could bear down on the female and force her to remain. His tail was stopped however, and he swiveled with a snarl to the basilisk who held it, keeping his eyes demurely down.

No, I don't think I want you to take her either. And if the lady Kazumi doesn't want Ai gone, I will assist her in keeping the girl here. The basilisk looked up, not using his stone-powers, but striking a kind of fear through Sai's heart. His clawed hands tightened on the dragon's tail. I will not let you go.

"Then I shall crush you!" Sai snarled, his voice booming and loud in the air as he moved toward the creature.

"Sai!" Ai squeaked, stopping in her place as her dragon started for T'kaa.

Ku grimaced as the dragon, thinking with his fury, started the fight. "Rai! Let's get Ai!"

The female nodded and shot toward where Ai was standing, her feet frozen to the ground.

Kazumi would have liked to avoid a physical confrontation. She supposed she could not have expected anything other then to have something occur though. She knew very well the results of what would come from keeping Ai with them but she would not budge on her decision. She would do whatever was in her power to. The odds were clear to her that they did not bode well in her favor. Even as she listened to what was said by the male dragon before her she did not intend to let him get by without a fight. She however had noted movement from Ai. She had even heard her speak. Now, how was she to deal with this. The fact it was merely her one, she did not count T'kaa, against these two dragons and the male rider. She had her attention set on he dragon that seemed to quite clearly belong to Ai. She had seen some movement from the male dragon. She was sure his tail was coming to hit her and she would need to make a move. However she found herself surprised when she found that the basilisk had made a move. She found herself simply looking at him for a moment surprised before she quickly looked away to note the others. Besides she knew not to stare just in case. Also she still did need to mind what was going on. Hearing T'kaa speak she found herself indeed surprised as well as somewhat relieved. That is, to ear the basilisk was assisting her at all. She gladly welcomed the helped. She still did not wish to fight here but if it came down to that.

At the moment Kazumi was considering what she would do. She still intended to keep Ai. With T'kaa here with this male dragon she could be sure Ai didn't get taken. She cast her gaze her way just as she considered that thought. She could not miss sight of the other dragon and the male rider going towards Ai. It was with that did she move quickly herself to intercept. Now her goal still wasn't to fight but it seemed that was what would happen. She thought to strike with her tail but she was not sure if she would have enough time to make such an action. She also considered using fire to perhaps ward them off but she was not sure if that would come to work. It was that and she didn't want to end up hitting them as it was with her previous thoughts as to why. Making a swift movement ahead of Ai she wasted no time in swinging her tail, instead of using fire, in hopes of knocking them from their course or physically hitting them and stopping them. She really saw no way to avoid this if she was to keep Ai here.

Shoji wasn't sure how long he had come to walk towards his destination but now that he was running back it somehow seemed longer or perhaps it was the other way around. He really wasn't sure. He just kept telling himself that if she was gone then she was gone and if she wasn't he certainly wasn't going to let her go. He wondered if he should speak to Kazumi but then he thought about what he settled on and brushed that thought aside. He really wasn't sure how long it was until he saw the familiar settings that was near where he had stopped earlier. It was only until he came out of the underbrush, the surrounding forestry, did he come to a stop. With good reason to. With how he saw what seemed to be a very unexpected seen or should he have expected it. To see the ones from earlier once more. They just wouldn't give up here and seeing Ai was still here at the moment he didn't see himself just letting her being taken. It was unexpected to see Kazumi there seeming to go against what he had said but now he was glad she had.

Ku gritted his teeth as the female dragon seemed to move toward him and Rai, her tail snapped up to meet them and he quickly yanked his own dragon back. Rai sailed effortlessly over the whipped tail and circled around, looking for an opening. Ai was still standing frozen on her spot, tears apparent in her eyes and a hopeless plea for help blanketing her body. How could he help her when he couldn't even get down to her? "Dragon! Leave my sister be! She has nothing to do with you or your rider!" He didn't care if she listened or not, he was really only trying to come up with time to think of an idea so he could save her.

"Ku!"

Her cry came up to him and he glanced at her, it seemed luck that made him look at her and notice the same rider who had stolen his sister emerging from the woods. Ah! He had a plan! "Ai! Take this!" He unhooked his staff and threw it down to her. "You'll need it if I don't kill him first!" A grin cracked across his face, his eyes lit with revenge. "If you won't let me have my sister, I'll kill your rider! Rai, now!" Thoughts were connected and the two dove over Ai and headed straight for Shoji, Rai's mouth opened and crackling lightning sharpened the shadows of her teeth before she directed the blast where Shoji was standing.

Ai, puzzled, caught the staff in her hands and stared at it. It was still warm from hugging her brother's back and she felt a small resolve click in her. He was so close she could still feel the heat. He was so close! She just needed to push it a little further! Her mind wheeled into fighting mode, away from distress and she quickly darted out of the way of fighting dragons and made her way to where Sai was. Kazumi had a choice, she could grab onto Ai, or she could save her rider. Ai was betting she'd save her rider. Sai! Ignore the Basilisk! Come to me! She pleaded with the furiously snarling dragon as he twisted among his coils to try and grasp the Basilisk- he wasn't without damage. Several parts of his body were covered in stone, luckily however, he didn't have wings. His head twisted when he heard her voice and his eyes, blind with fury, locked onto his rider as she darted toward him.

Yes, my Ai. Like a snake on the ground, he shot toward Ai with stunning speed.

((Kay, I really want to keep Ai with Shoji as well, but the only way that's gonna work is if Sai gets injured to the point of near death and Ai makes a deal that if they leave Sai alone, she'll go with him (if she ends up going with Ku and Rai, Shoji could kill Sai, but if she leaves with him, Ku could stay with Sai and heal him and whatnot). But we'd have to get Sai injured badly somehow... got an idea?))

Kazumi found her situation had taken a turn for the worse. Seeing now her rider was in danger and it seemed highly likely that Ai may escape. If that was the case then she had to do whatever was in her power to avoid doing so. Shoji would surely dissapointed if she did not remain. Not that she was saying she merely did it for that reason. There was nothing personal here for her here though she found she had some liking for girl. She seemed like a very sweet girl but regardless she did this only for Shoji and no one else. It was why she chose to come to the decision she had. "So be it, then she will perish as well." She basically gave an all or nothing choice here as her jaws parted to reveal an obvious charge of fire prepared to blast at Ai. However she could not forget that she was outnumbered and she may be doing this all for naught. She did however believe Shoji could handle himself and if she could just halt the other dragon from getting Ai then she might be able to do something more. She did not desire to attack Ai but she would do what was needed to keep Shoji safe and to take Ai with them.

Shoji wasn't expecting to be in the position he was in now. He narrowed his eyes quickly considering the situation. He noted Kazumi and Ai with what was going on with them and figured what he thought he had to do. He didn't expect Kazumi to come help him here. He expected her to go through what she already seemed to be going through. He had to rely on himself. Which was why he was prepared to avoid the oncoming attack. He already decided how he would move to dodge what seemed to be an oncoming attack. He didn't see any other option but to move out of the way. He would have to figure out how to get to Ai somehow if things played out right..

Ai froze when she saw that Kazumi had opened her jaws at her, her eyes widened with disbelief before she turned away furiously. Of course! This was a dragon battle and right now she and that dragon were enemies! Before she could continue running at Sai she saw his change in direction. "Sai NO!" But it was too late, the dragon barreled into Kazumi, his roar resounding around them. They had dared to attack his mistress one too many times! He would not be stopped he would-

T'kaa stopped ahead of Sai, his eyes opened wide. You leave me no choice, dragon, but to cripple you. He held up his hand-like paws and splayed his clawed fingers out, for a second he was silent before he spoke in a slithering snake-like tongue, a language that none should have understood except the dragon it was directed to.

Sai collapsed onto the ground not far from Kazumi, writhing up in a ball of coils and electricity. The basilisk had used some sort of ancient power, sealing his jaws shut to stone and lining his scales in stone as well. It wasn't a full on transformation to stone, but because T'kaa had stepped in the sights of Sai before he could look away, it was enough to cause the dragon immense pain. His roar gurgled in his throat, unable to leave his mouth.

"Sai!" Ai screamed in pain with him, she could feel his agony and his frustration as if it were her own. She stumbled towards him.

"Ai keep back!" Ku shouted, he had reared up Rai's head and her electricity shot harmlessly into the air. In an instant they were by Sai's side. Ku glared in the basilisks direction. "Reverse it before I-"

The spell will reverse in 72 hours. I assume that the dragon can survive that long without food and water? At Ku's snarled, indistinguishable reply, T'kaa nodded. That's what I thought. Now, if you stay here and be good, I'll make sure the dragon doesn't suffer any more than he is already... and that would be good, correct? Yes, it would. Don't glare at me human pup. I'm giving you a chance to survive. Instead of rushing into a fight like this, next time think. He turned his eyes over to Kazumi and then Shoji calmly. This is the only time I'll help you. Organize yourselves better next time so I don't have to get into these messy human affairs. I hate the look in their eyes when they feel cheated.

Ai was still frozen where she was. She shook herself out of it and took a few staggering steps to Sai.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 21, 2009 7:27 pm

Kazumi stopped herself now with what would have been a blast coming from the confines of it if T'Kaa hadn't stepped in. It was that or some other thing else occurred but now she wouldn't know that with what happened. Now considering the situation she found she at least had a bit less to worry about but her concerns mainly lied with Shoji and Ai. She needed to be sure no harm came to her rider and then the reason behind this was the mortal girl that she would have to take along. She just didn't see it being her place to really say or do anything more. She would just have to wait till Shoji made some sort of move and she hoped whatever he did wouldn't come to put them in any negative sort of position where she would have to step in. Of course she was willing to do whatever was in her power to do in order to assist her rider regardless of what happened to others in the process.

Shoji couldn't say he was expecting anything he just witnessed. From he fact that T'kaa helped to the fact that it didn't see he would be expecting any more attacks coming from the dragons. This left him with the option of going now or sticking around to get what he came back here for or rather who. He knew very well he didn't just come back to be with his dragon. He came back here to get Ai and get her he would. Whether he had to use force or not. But now he would have to take his leave of this place and return at some other point in time. A long time from now as far as he saw. That certainly did complicate things but he would have to do what he had to do and leave it at that. He wasn't going to let this go just like that because of how things looked now. "Ai, I suggest you make this easier on yourself and just come with me." With this said Shoji remained where he was for the moment with his gaze set on the girl he had come back for but was still quite aware of his surroundings. He just had to convince her to come along or would really have to use force to some extent.

"That's cruel, T'kaa!" Ai cried to the basilisk, tears running down her face in the pain that she felt coming from Sai. She couldn't bear to be separated from him again, and she couldn't bear to leave him in that kind of pain. Her tear-filled eyes turned to Shoji with a glare as she readied the staff that Ku had given her. "You'll have to take me by force." She would prove she wasn't weak, that she could stand up to him and stay where she wanted to be.

"Don't be a fool, Ai! You can't battle him on your own!"

Ku's voice cut through her and Ai looked at her brother in hurt confusion. "But I-"

"You're making it worse! Just go!" Her brother glared back at her. "Trust us! We'll find you again!"

"I can't leave you! Don't make me leave you again! I won't leave you!" She shook her head through her tears, clutching the staff. "I won't leave you alone!" Again she faced Shoji. "I'll fight you for my freedom! I'll win and you'll leave!"

T'kaa tilted his head at the girl curiously, she was stubborn, that much he gave her. But that wouldn't help her much at all. He turned to Shoji. This battle I leave to you. He wouldn't hurt the girl, just her dragon. The pain that the dragon was in was enough pain for her to deal with, and he had a feeling that Shoji probably wanted her alive for one reason or another.
