I think the skills and abilites are worth keeping, especially for a rogue or bard. It's not a really complex system, just stat modifier + ranks, really. They're all the same for rolling, and there's a lot that you can do with them.

I think I agree with Kninja on this one. It's another one that makes a lot more sense with the player sheet. 3nodding
The other thing we have to figure out - is how do we arrange actual games?
Different places, different time zones... eek We all have to be on at the same time, or it's way too hard to do fights and such.
Too bad we can't find an IM to do that on .... whee Would make life a lot easier.
Oh well, a lot of refreshing pages, and such. 3nodding

Hmm, that's a good point, battles would take several days to finish up at the least. Could be more. We could try something like each character's post they roll a whole bunch of attacks, assuming that just regular attacks are what they'd be doing until the situation changes. But that'd be kind of hard to keep track of, too.

Hmm... We *COULD* see who wants to play, and who's willing to get, or already has, an MSN account or which ever they prefer using. 3nodding Kninja and I already do. Teddy does. WobinA does. I believe Zathura does. .... Hmm.... thought if Arlyana wanted to play it wouldn't work... whee
But that's just an idea. 3nodding

I guess if that's the case, I can finally give in and try one of those accursed things. *Really not a fan of instant messenger programs.*

Several different minor reasons that generally combined to give me valid reason. One being my general reluctance to try new things, plus a slight fear of the unknown. Then the fact that you can't (as far as I've heard) do posts of any decent size, which bugged me, no room for detail. P,lus having been irked by the probrams before (for a few months, every time I turned the computer on, I had to wait several minutes for it to auto-start, the log out, then close the program, and so on. Got annoying, made a bad first impression.)
But if it is the best way to make this work, I'll try to do what I can.

Well, if you get MSN plus - you can make larger posts. And since it's all instant messeging, you just continue to write - and post, and write- and post, until you're done (My DM and I have had to do that quite a few times) It tells you when the other person/persons are typing in the MSN window.
You can also make it so that MSN will not start up with you computer, and so that - even when it does start up, it won't open until you double click on the icon on your toolbar. 3nodding
And fear of the unknown ... well...think of it this way MSN is really quite old 3nodding heart

Well, maybe. I still don't feel very well inclined towards instant messenger things, but if this is what it takes to get in a D&D group, I'll manage.
Just not too hoppy about it.

There's also a much more dumbed down version - bare basics.
MSN2go.com I believe it's called.
That only starts up when you go to the site and sign in.
It also does not show emotes, or allows for nudges and winks and all those other annoying MSN features. heart You should check that one out.
I used to use it at school. xd ninja

Is that the one we'll be using? 'Cuz I'd rather just deal with one, rather than try one to get used to, then move on to te regular one or whatever. But I shall give an instant messenger service a try once we know which one I need to use.

That one is a simplified version of MSN.
As in it hooks up with normal MSN versions as well. 3nodding
But as I said if you want you can just go with the normal MSN, and turn off all the annoying things? xd
Also - I have yahoo as well, so that's another possibility if you'd prefer. 3nodding

Well, I'll try, but I'd like to only have to mess around with one, either MSN or Yahoo. They're not compatible, right?

Proclaimer Rye Well, I'll try, but I'd like to only have to mess around with one, either MSN or Yahoo. They're not compatible, right? I *think* people with a yahoo account CAN use Windows Live Messenger (which is now technically what MSN messenger is called). But I am absolutely sure that the reverse is not true.
