...Super Bowl XLII Champions NY Giants had a few hard losses on defense during FA.

LB Kawika Mitchell to the Bills.

LB Reggie Torbor to the Dolphins.

FS Gbril Wilson to the Raiders.

...All starters and key defensive players for the Giants. The Giants just signed veteran safety Sammy Knight to a three year deal to fill the void for Wilson. Knight will most likely move to strong safety, with Butler moving to free safety. Mathias Kiwanuka should be back and ready to retain his position at linebacker, and Wilkinson is young and proven that he can compete. As of now, it seems that the giants need cornerbacks, maybe another safety, one more receiver, a linebacker or two, and youth at offensive line.

And on top of that, Michael Strahan is still contemplating retirement. The Giants may be without next season as well.

Strahan is the face of the New York Giants, and has been for quite some time. To lose him would not only be bad on the field with his smart and physical presence, but as a team leader with a lot of heart. Although if we lose him, we do have Justin Tuck and Alford to step in, who are both very good players. I personally believe that Strahan will return, though...

Raiders sign WR Javon Walker.as a Raiders fan i am glad we got him.the deal was a 6 year 55 million dollar deal im pretty sure(not sure bout how many years he was signed lol)

the Raiders signed O-lineman Kwame Harris.good move

the Raiders arent doin that bad this offseason.i mean come on they got S Gibril Wilson of the Giants.they resigned Tommy Kelly to a 7 year deal worth like 57 million(stupid move though.we coulda used some of that money for someone we need...).now theres the draft...
i WANT Chris Long.after all he is Howie Long's son and if he plays for his fathers team that would be awesome.

Bengals sign LB Dhani Jones to a 3 year contract
Seahawks sign RB TJ Duckett to a 5 year deal
Patriots re-sign WR Jabar Gaffney, sign CB Jason Webster
Texans re-sign S Will Demps
Jags sign DT Jimmy Kennedy
Cardinals sign DE Travis LaBoy
Chicago sign WR Marty Booker
Minnesota signs RB/KR Maurice Hicks for 3 years

im waiting for what happens to Julius Jones, what the Dolphins do with their first overall pick, more good moves by the Raiders,Ty Law,and everyone else who is a big in the free agent market.....tomorrow is another day, another trade, another signing.lets see what happens.

Raiders made some pretty good moves. Signing Gibril Wilson and Kwame Harris were very good. Yet I doubt getting Javon Walker. He's had three knee surgeries before he was 30, and hasn't been as explosive a many think. Javon Walker also cost the Raiders a great deal of money (more than Randy Moss), which they could have used elsewhere. Why not get a better offensive line for Jamarcus Russel? They may need a running back, but they need linebakers and a defensive line improvement as well. I also think that signing wither Jake Long or Chris Long will be good pickups, but the more I look at it, it will be tough for both of those tempi9ng players to make it until the Raiders #4 pick...(can three white guys get drafted #1,2,3 with Ryan going to the Falcons too?!?!?).

Dhani Jones is ancient, but may be able to help teach younger linebackers for the Bengals.

Other moves were decent too, including the Seahawks getting Duckett.

todays signings/trades:

Browns sign DT Shaun Rogers to a 6 year deal
Detroits signs CB Travis Fisher
(not a signing or trade)Raiders DT Warren Sapp officially retires
Dolphins resign CB Michael Lehan
Patriots sign S Tank Williams
i think theres more but i havent gotten any more info so yeah.

and the Raiders signing Giibril Wilson,Tommy Kelly,Kwame Harris, and Javon Walker to high paying contracts...
they have no choice.they have to pay more to get these types of players especially if its a team like the Raiders.they arent that good(i wanna cut my tongue for saying this lol).and players like Gibril Wilson wont go to a place like Oakland because they arent a good team.paying more is the only way to get these guys.and spending all this money.how are we gonna pay for the guy we get in the draft.obviously guys who are in the top 5 are expected to get paid big money but idk how the Raiders will pay for the person we get whether its Chris Long,Jake Long,Glenn Dorsey(prolly not gonna happen).

btw Brett Favre will have a news conference on ESPN.i wonder what hes gonna say.but i cant watch it cuz ima be in school still.ehh ill just watch the highlights but if you are able to watch it i highly reccomend it especially if you are a Packers fan.now can Aaron Rodgers run the team?i think so.good O-Line,receivers,RB.its just the defense that needs a lil improvement but it is a good defense.they need to improve in the D-Line maybe and maybe LB.CB kinda.they need some younger players at CB.Safety?idk

Getting back to your poll, I have to say that the Miami Dolphins overall helped themselves the most this offseason. They signed veterans and unsung free agents in key positions of need that will improve their franchise. Although the situation with Jason Taylor is still up in the air and unknown, Miami still has the rights to the #1 pick in the draft...

Shaun Rogers was a high pick in his respective draft, and has not played up to his expectations. He is worth way too much money, and although he will indeed improve the Browns' horrible defense, they would have been better off trading ahead to get a shot at either Glenn Dorsey or Chris Long in this upcoming Draft.

Vikings started it out on fire and they've cooled down. But we got Madieu Williams, most likely the best safety in free agency, and Bernard Berrian, the second best receiver in FA. Thus improving the passing game on both sides greatly.

signings/trades/releases of 3/6/08:

Titans sign DE Jevon Kearse to a two year deal worth 6 million
Baltimore signs LB Brenden Ayanbadejo to a 4 year deal worth bout 4 million
Jets agree to terms with free agent FB Tony Richardson
the Eagles released LB Takeo Spikes

i like Jevon Kearse goin to the Titans.him playing with Kyle Vanden Bosch will help them defensively but Jevon has a thing to get injured easily

Takeo Spikes being released isnt that surprising to me cuz i had a feelin they would get rid of him anyways but what team would want to sign him?

Tony Richardson goin to the Jets isnt that big but its a good signing for the Jets.hes a good run blocker.btw whos the RB of the Jets again?lol Thomas Jones right???

...Gibril Wilson was the best safety in this year's free agency, but getting Madieu Williams was a great move, to add a good presence to their horrible secondary (another Williams on the Vikings defense ?!?!?!?). xd

...Moss was set to stay with the Patriots all along, so he wasn't really a free agent. Take him out of the equation, and the Vikings got the best valued receiver available, in Berrian. I think that with time, Tavaris Jackson will develop into a successful quarterback. He is young, smart, and talented. All the Vikings really need to do now on offense is to improve their offensive line, which is hurting.

Well come to think of it, you also could have added the Vikings, Saints, Titans, Buccaneers, Panthers, or Bills... xp

...But I'd still go with the Dolphins, as of now.

I was watching Pardon the Interruption (PTI) today on ESPN, and they had a very well done Warren Sapp interview. He had a good career story, and he was happy to have a quite retirement announcement. He's also a pretty good guy in person, contrast to his personality on the field (for the most part).

signings/trades of 3/7/08:
it has been repored that RB Julius Jones has agreed in principle with the Seattle Seahawks
Giants head coach Tom Coughlin has signed a 4 year contract.
Redskins sign RB/KR Rock Cartright to a 3 year deal
Panthers sign LB Landon Johnson to a 3 year deal
Bears sign WR Brandond Lloyd to a 1 year deal
Lions sign Chuck Darby to a 3 year contract.
Saints sign LB Dan Morgan to a one year deal
Bucaneers sign CB Sammy Davis to a 1 year contract

Julius Jones on the Seahawks huh?well would it be considered a RB tandem with him and Shaun Alexander.Alexander has struggled the last 2 seasons.i think Julius would be the second string RB behind Alexander but who knows maybe he can take the strating job away from Shaun.

i like Brandon Lloyd on the Bears but the Bears dont have that franchise QB.if Grossman can do better next season(idk bout that though) then Brandon Lloyd will be a good WR.
Tom Coughlin re signing back with the Giants is a good move but what about DE Michael Strahan?will he return next season?i certainly hope so.

oh yeah i was lookin at the Raiders schedule(huge Raiders fan if u didnt know) next season and they are playing the Patriots at home.hahaha u all know Randy Moss is gonna hear lots of boos.i wanna gotta to this game.its not a long drive to Oakland from where i live.you know Nnamdi Asomugha is gonna be coverin him and i know hes gonna do a good job.if the Raiders beat the Patriots ill be so freakin glad.this is certainly a MUST-SEE game for Raider fans out there.you hate Randy Moss?watch this game(if possible) and watch what will happen to Randy Moss and watch Tom Brady get his azz sacked by Tommy Kelly or Derrick Burgess.maybe even Chris Long if we get him but right now im worried bout the O-line.we should try to get Jake Long or Jeff Otah.both are good O-lineman.i dont like how people are sayin we should get RB Darren McFadden.yeah hes a great athlete but we have enough RBs.come we have Michael Bush,Justin Fargas,Dominic Rhodes,LaMont Jordan(i think).we have enough RBs.we shouldnt pass on McFadden but i honestly dont want him on the Raiders.he wont do good without a better O-Line blockin him(even though the Raiders were in like the top 10 in rushing yards per game).it still needs to improve for QB Jamarcus Russell.we dont want him gettin sacked every damn play.he could get injured.O-Line is more important

Tom Coughlin, Julius Jones, and Landon Johnson were the big headlines of Friday.

I'm interested in seeing where Larry Fitzgerald will land, and that will probably be the next important headline...though I do see him staying in Arizona...
