For Mastilan, the prospect of traveling wasn't exactly explore and see new things, it was merely to get away from her current problems. This new 'pack' of her so-called father's(she was unable to trust either of her parents, as each told a warped version of the truth, and she was unable to find the reality under either), her mother, even the needs of her sister and her brother.
She wanted to be of use to someone, to experiment with food and have someone appreciate her for her works. But she couldn't leave her sister, no, never. It'd be impossible. And she'd crumble if Musketeer or Crunch ever found out about what she thought, she couldn't have them looking down upon her. "'S you think e'ryone's got a purpose?" Massy inquired almost enterprisingly, as though she was asking how many miles were on a car.

She nodded to Mastilan, smiling a little. "I do. I believe we all have a path to follow." She stared into the sky then, her eyes slightly glazed over. She was thinking deeply, wondering what path was set for herself.
She shook her head, pulling herself from her thoughts. "I think that even when we feel lost, we're on the path we're supposed to be. Even when it seems like nothing is going right for you, just remember that you can never stray from the path of destiny." Her icey eyes were distant as she finished speaking, and she brought them back up to the sky once more.

Cocking her head lightly to show that she was listening, Mastilan thought of what the pup had said. That was, deep. Confusing, yet somehow understandable. Enough to grasp but not enough to completely get.
Perhaps that was how life was though. Indescribable.
Did that mean that she was supposed to grow up like she was? Without a real mother or father to depend on? With a sick sister to care for?
"That's not fair."
