Relief flooded Damien's senses after hearing that she really didn't mean it. But now a new thought had lodged itself into his mind...she hadn't met any other syrins?
"Really? You're glad?" His smile became more tender, "That's...good to hear, Aria." He paused and silence overtook them. But then after looking up, something caught his eyes. "Look! Stars are coming out."

Aria couldn't help but laugh. "I think I might have mentioned that before you jumped me." She smiled. "But they still are pretty just like another Syrin I know."
She giggles and let the water surround her and she sunk underwater to wet her hair again. She resurfaced and took her place back by Damien.

Even though it couldn't be easily seen, Damien could feel the faintest hint of a blush spread across his cheeks. Her comment definitely didn't help that at all so he tried to avoid looking directly at Aria and instead looked up into the night sky which was already covering up any hint of the once light blue sky.
Pointing to one of the brighter twinkling stars that shone directly across from them, Damien smiled, "That's the first one I saw come out...." Looking back to Aria the older syrin asked softly, "Have you ever heard the phrase 'Wish I would, wish I might, have my wish on the first star I see tonight.'? It was Lia that taught me the phrase when I was a child, but of course she stole it from Willow." His eyes sparkled with amusement at the memory. But he quickly returned to the present, "Have you ever made a wish upon the first star you saw?"

Aria really didn't know what to say. Sure he was blushing but about what? Something she said? He said? What about what he was thinking? She was so confused.
"Wishing," she mused, "Well I don't do it often. I remember I did every night when I was still learning to swim. I always wished for a knight in shining scales but he never seemed to come around." She sighed and floated on her back. "How about you?"

Floating beside of Aria Damien tilted his head so that he could look at her face, "A knight in shining scales?" He asked softly before answering, "Me? Well, I don't know...I guess I wished for umm...happiness and more places to explore..."
Damien paused and gazed at the clear night sky and to the bright moon with it's decorations of stars that shone beside of it. Then after taking a breath, the syrin slowly continued, "Yet I think the last part was more to wishing for someone to share my new discoveries with. Someone who could be amazed with me by the beautiful creations of the seas, someone to swim with through countless caverns....Basically someone that I could always be with...that'd understand me and..." He blinked and smiled sheepishly before looking back to Aria.
"Guess I'm starting to blabber now, right?"

Aria stared at him as he spoke. He WAS her knight. He always looked out for her and she loved it. It was her knight in shining scales. "I'm looking for that too. Someone to explore with me and show me all he knows."
She rolled over so she was laying on him, their stomaching touching. "You are my Knight. What am I to you?" She smiled as she looked at him. In her mind she was screaming to herself to be more reserved instead of outgoing.

“You are?” Damien whispered to Aria, but before he could say anything else she had rolled over and was now on top of him. Immediately the syrin felt warmth from her touch and still in surprise he took a minute to register what she was asking.
His free hand that wasn’t helping support the both of them, reached up and touched her cheek. Silently his thumb traced her cheek before he gently touched the corner of her mouth. Moving his thumb so that it’s tip touched her chin, he poked her lips softly with his index finger. “Do you need to ask?” He questioned softly with clear eyes full of emotion. “Isn’t it obvious after all this time we’ve spent together?” He wanted to say more, to pour out the emotion bubbling inside of him...yet the syrin tried to remain as calm as possible. And that itself was getting harder by the second.

The silence was killing her. The way he touched her face was so soft so soothing that she couldn't help but let her face mold into his hand.
Aria sighed as he asked the question she longed to hear. "Of course I knew. It's just nice to hear it." She giggled softly as she put her hand around his. She loved now lovely the night was. She with Damien, the stars in the dark, the moon on the water. Everything was at peace and love with one another.

Holding Aria’s hand, Damien bent upwards and lightly kissed her cheek. “I understand. Just as you should understand that you‘re the most important thing to me, Aria.” He didn’t pause and the words came flowing out in that rare moment. “I love you…” Will she say the same? He wondered, but he felt that the feeling definitely was mutual between them.
Had either of them ever needed to say their feelings, it was like they could read each other through every motion made and just by being with them. Even though he didn't wish to disturb the comforting silence and peacefulness...he decided to talk. So after allowing a hint of a smirk to show, Damien softly asked Aria, “And do you feel love for your knight, milady?” Even though the question was true and sincere, the knight and milady had been added in to ease the syrin’s nervousness at finally asking her this.

Aria gasped when he said "I love you." She didn't know that he would say it. It was weird for him to say it but she liked it. It was nice to hear him say that.
She laughed at her Knight. "Yes," She sighed. "I do love my knight. And I wasn't sure If he loved me back. But I do know now." Aria kissed him back, pushing him under the water then she swam away from him. She wanted to see if He would chase her.

Hearing her words, Damien felt as if he could just jump and float on air. Then she started to swim from him. Focusing on the blur that was Aria, Damien was reminded again of how much she blended in with the water. The ocean's beauty turned into syrin form. He thought with a smile before giving chase.
An idea hit him and Damien wondered whether he should get her to follow him to the latest 'project' of his. That is after he caught up to her...which he was almost on her tail.

Aria shrieked with laughter as she weaved through the dark patches of the water. She loved blending in at times like these. But it was a real downer when you have no one to be with. She smiled and her teeth flashed white.
She closed her mouth and hid behind a rock to catch her breath. She had a nice long sprint and was sure she had time before he would find her. She fluffed her hair and though of how Katalina tried to impress guys. Hopefully these tricks would work for a Syrin too.

For a second there, Damien had been afraid that he'd lost Aria. Then he heard her laugh which helped lead him once again in the right direction. Slowing down, Damien swum quietly around the scattered rocks of all sizes.
Finally he called out, "Aria?! You coming out of hiding now or not?" He had a feeling about one of the rocks though and silently the syrin swam to the front of it and sat, if he was right Aria was on the other side. Stretching, he whistled a light tune.

Aria gasped when he called out loud. He had found her quicker than expected. Was he supposed to do that? Kat never said. Aria was now nervous but once Damien started to whistle she knew what she must do.
She swam to a rock farther away and started to sing notes matching his whistling.

Damien looked up....what was this musical rocks? His eyes widened as she started singing to match his whistling. With a couple of flicks of his tail, the syrin moved in front of her newest hiding spot and started whistling even louder and even started to hum instead. It was random notes, not really a song. But none the less a pretty melody.
