"I agree, ice is too cold." Oora looked around at the nearly empty house for a second, thinking. "Being slow isn't always bad. Patience is nice, too... better than being slow. Though I run a bit short on it sometimes, too.". She took off the small bag she carried and set it beside her, trying to allow herself to sit more comfortably.
Haru nodded, examining the wood. "About how big do you think it should be?" Haru made eye contact with Siko for the first time in a long time. He picked up a few pieces of wood he deemed worthy, but couldn't get many until Siko decided on a size.

Eaxipil gave a tiny shrug. "There are always times when patience runs short. I've seen holymen and shamens grow short tempered in my various comings and goings. It's only to be expected that regular folk get a little antsy too." He nodded. "I know I may not look like much, but I'm older than I appear."
Siko gave a thoughtful sound. "Oh, enough for at least six people. I want room should company come visit." He scooped up a some good looking pieces of wood, in the back of his mind noting that he seemed to be able to carry more than he had been in recent weeks. "What do you think, Haru? If we're building this together then I want your input too." He nodded with a smile.

"How old are you, then?" Oora turned her head to the side. It was odd for her not to be smiling while talking to someone. "What's a Shaman do?" she gave him a confused look.
"That would probably be a good size," Haru agreed "and if it needs to be bigger, we can always add on." he gave a small smile. He moved away from the pile of wood, placing his on the ground. "Do you think this will be enough for now?"

"Ohh...I'm around two hundred and thirty years old. Last time I bothered to check anyway." The fire gave a flickery shrug. "A shaman?" He grinned a little and bobbed in the hearth. "A shaman can have many functions in a society. Sometimes they act as wise men and women in a culture. Or a healer, or possibly act as a living connection with the spirit world. They are master tale weavers that tell stories with hidden meanings and lessons. They are often said to have the ability to rid places and people of evil spirits. Very interesting folks shamans."
Siko nodded and added his wood to the pile Haru put on the ground. "Yeah, I think this ought to be enough for now. An add-on would be good in the event of a large family get together, or if a group of travelers need a place to stay. I have a few tools that we could use also."

Oora nodded. She loved to learn. "What else can you tell me?" She smiled, her interest shining in her eyes. "What do evil spirits do, and you arn't one, are you?". Helios had said that her curiosity may get the best of her one of these days, but it was good to want to learn, wasn't it?
Haru streached his neck before sitting down on the ground. "Alright. I'll start making the top." He picked up a few pieces of wood, lining them up side by side. As he did this, he began humming happily to himself, which was unusual... but almost everything was unusual since he started talking.

Eaxipil grinned broadly. "Oh, lass, I can tell you all manner of things. I've been all over and seen things from all corners." He gave a wistful sigh and folded his hands behind his head. "Yeah, that was the life. Great fun. Ah well, as to answer your questions..." He cleared his throat and carried on. "Evil spirits generally are bent on causing some form of harm to good folks. Be it making them sick, to causing them bad luck, do bad things to them, burn their homes, destroy their livlihood, I've even heard of cases when the spirits straight out and killed people. They should be feared and avoided at all cost. Some are badder than others. Don't meddle with them, if summoned to do a person's bidding, they have often turned on those who called upon them to do their mischief." He shook his head. "An evil spirit, me? Naw. I consider myself a decent sort. Now, I usually don't go out of my way to help folks, but I don't intentionally harm them either. I don't take kindly to be thought as one either. Folk don't know how to listen nowadays! I just mind my own business and folk set to snuffing me out." He gave a soft growl and crossed his arms over his chest.
"Alright, you do that and I'll get started on the supports and the legs." Insiko moved back to the wood pile to find four sturdy, thick wooden logs for the legs. They'd have to be of the right height. He didn't want the table to be too short or too tall, or wobbly. It took a bit of digging but he eventually found the four logs that would suit his purpose. He moved over to where Haru was working and set to making sure the four legs stood evenly and sturdily.

"Good, I didn't figure you would be bad, but I can never be too sure, can I?" she smiled. "What would you like to tell me first? I love listening and learning things.." She settled herself down even more, expecting to be in one place for a while. She attempted a position so that her limbs would not fall asleep. "I'll listen to anything." She was determined to get him talking more.
He set a few more in his line. It was growing pretty steadily, and he was making sure they were about the same length. "Do you think this will be big enough?" it was a little longer than he was, and about twice as wide.

Eaxipil gave Oora a once over then sighed deeply. "Why the rush, lass," he asked with a flickering grin. "If what the breeze whispers is correct then you are going to be hanging around here more often, yes?"
Siko, satisfied that the four legs were even and sturdy enough, get to building the support for the table top. He looked over at hearing Haru ask him something. He tipped his head to one side and looked the table top over. "Yeah, I think so. Nice work so far, Haru." He smiled.

Oora looked a bit dissapointed, "I suppose it wouldn't hurt to save for later... and I suppose I will be here more." She looked at the door "What am I to do about Haru...? He cant stay with me forever.." She rested her head on one of her shoulders. Her stomach growled, breaking her concentration. She blushed as she turned to face the fire. "About what time would it be?"
Haru rubbed the sweat off of his forehead, sitting up to look at his handiwork. "Thank you." He smiled, and looked at Siko's legs for the table. "Those look nice, what else should we do?" Haru was starting to realize that Siko wasnt as bad as he seemed, but it wasn't quite a buddy relationship yet. He would have to give it some time.

"Let him know that if he feels ready to go off on his own then he may. Let him know the option is open to take his own path in life. He can't tag along with you forever. The lad looks old enough to start deciding these things for himself anyway." The flame looked out the window and grew quiet for a moment as if listening. "The sun will be setting soon, so I suppose its about dinner time. The fellas should come in so we could get things cooking. Call 'em in. We'll see what everyone wants."
Siko wiped his face with a hand. "Heh, thanks." He sighed and looked at what they had accomplished. His stomach growled loudly. "Oh, huh. I guess its been a while since lunch. Haru, you hungry?"

Oora nodded "Alright." She stood up and walked to the door, opening it, she yelled in her loudest voice "HEY! COME ON IN, THAT'S ENOUGH FOR THE DAY!" she caught her breath, and turned to the fire. "Do you think they heard?" she smiled meekly.
"Yes!" he said, a little flustered. His stomach had been growling, too. He heard his sister's voice, coming from the house, he thought at first she was scolding them, but she was only calling them in. He looked at Siko. "She is loud, isn't she?"

Eaxipil nodded and prodded some of the wood of the hearth to life, a warm steady fire causing him to grow a little larger in size. "One would think so. I'm sure they couldn't have missed it. You've got quite an impressive set of pipes there, lass." He chuckled. "Very useful at times, yes? I forsee so," he said vaguely in good humor.
Siko gave a little laugh. "Maybe, but aren't we all at least sometimes." He thought back on several of his past hunts as a kid when he was with his brother. He'd get bored and start making a fuss, gradually getting louder and louder until Tanis couldn't do anything with him. "Let's go see what we all can scrounge up for some dinner." He turned and went towards the door. "I've got a fair bit of food saved up indoors. I'm sure we'll be able to find something for everyone. Got a hunger for anything in particular?"

Oora grinned broadly "Oh, thank you, and they are very useful." she motioned to the door, where Siko and Haru were walking in. "They arn't deaf after all!" she gave a started laughing. She winked at Eaxipil, and turned to face them. "So, were you slacking, or did you get anything at all done?" She crossed her arms, and looked at them through her bangs. A menacing look, especially to Haru.
"I guess we could be..." Haru thought for a second, but he never used his voice to be loud, but then again, he only just started using it. "Not sure what sounds good to eat. May just see what is out there." He jumped a little when he saw Oora, which only made her laugh more. He popped his joints back into place. "What sounds good to you, Siko, who is the crazy person who actuelly found it possible to -like- my sister." he sent her a playful glare.

Eaxipil chuckled and continued to stoke the fire until it grew into a steady flame. He seemed to grow a bit with the size of the fire.
Siko gave a bit of a laugh. "Eh, crazy I may be, but it's a kind of crazy I don't plan on getting rid of." He shifted his gaze to Oora. "Ah, we got some work done. Haru and I got the beginnings of a nice, sturdy table out there. Its looking quite good so far, if I do say so myself."
He scratched his jaw as he pondered what he had stored and dried. "Hm, well, I've got some fish that have been dried, some rabbit, a few other things. I've got some vegetables stored and some herbs hanging up over there," he said as he angled his head over toward several bundles of herbs hanging upside down, drying. "If none of that sounds appealing, we could always go out for a quick hunt." The dark chocolate and teal cattaur gave a tiny shrug. "You're my guests so I am here to serve you."

After a short while of thinking, Oora said calmly "Rabbit sounds good.". She walked by Haru, jamming her elbow into his ribcage. She smiled at Siko, "Do you want help getting it?". She glared back at Haru.
"Suit yourself." Haru watched her walk past. He didn't expect her to hit him.. She was still strong. He grabbed his waist, smiling at her. He could tell that this would be fun. A hitting game.
