Vieno chuckled softly at the playful wolf, knowing she was only joking. To her it seemed like her manner bothered the filly, and the mare could understand a bit because the wolf did tend to say some strange things. Either way, the mare wouldn't have minded having a wolf tag along after her daily, she would have liked the company. Not that she minded the peace and quiet of venturing alone either! Vieno just liked to have her friends around her always, she liked to share her adventures and hardships with others, she was definitely a very social horse.

"So, do you two have anything planned for the day?" the mare questioned with her soft voice. She herself hadn't planned anything, except maybe to wander around and explore the area. Being new to the place it was safest to explore and let others tell tales about the land. So far, it was filled with adventure and wonder and Vieno couldn't see herself going anyplace else but of course... like every new world, it had its secrets.

I like it here, she thought to herself as she looked beyond her mane to peer at the new acquaintances. Perhaps this was where she would stay for the rest of her life. No more wandering, just a peaceful land she could safely call her home. Wasn't that every horse's dream? Well, she didn't know if it was but it certainly felt good fulfilling it.

Grey ears perked up a bit at the mare’s question. Sienna looked away from the clouds and sky to gaze upon Vieno. The filly did admire the mare and her elegant look. She herself being relatively young was unused to the concept of ‘looking nice’ or ‘keep one’s self neat’. It was something that she wish she had… but… she’d probably figure these things out eventually. Her mother always told her that. Sienna shook her striped face in a No reply at Vieno’s question. Besides trying to get away from Horo, which she failed miserably in, she had no expectations for the day… In fact, she really didn’t have any expectations at all… The filly looked off into the distance with a confounded look not noticing that for once, the wolf was rather silent.

Had Vieno known what the filly had been thinking she may have been flustered and shocked, she certainly didn't feel she was elegant or anything more than average. Maybe low self-esteem was her biggest flaw, or perhaps she had others that hadn't come up quite yet. Either way, Vieno was known for thinking highly of others and lowly of herself, that was just the way she'd always been. Even... before she came here...

Well, the mare sure didn't have to be a translator or mind reader to know what a shake of the head meant! So she didn't have any plans, perhaps she wanted to explore with her? Or was it rude to ask that sort of thing? Vieno sure hoped it wasn't, because she would have liked to have someone who'd lived here for awhile to answer all her questions. If she had any that is, so far she hadn't noticed anything that needed questions answered about!

"I'm new here..." Vieno giggled a bit and turned her head away so she wouldn't seem so foolish, "Perhaps you'd like to wander around with me...? It'd definitely prove useful to explore some more!" After that, the mare waited silently for a reply, hoping and praying she wasn't being rude.

Grey ears perked up as the filly snapped back from her slight daze. Listening to the mare's words carefully a small smile crossed over Sienna's striped face as she simply nodded a Yes reply but another problem arose... where would be a good place to go? The filly's head looked around a bit as dark red eyes observed the terrain. Much of the snow that had fallen was already beginning to melt away and what was left was ice and slush pretty much. Deep in thought, Sienna ran though a long list of places she liked to go to as a young foal. Her ears perked up suddenly as the filly walked in front of Vieno excitedly and pointed her head towards some direction in the distance. There was always one place that cheered her up... even though there were strange creatures who lived there.

The filly seemed to be pondering something and had now taken control over the whole meeting, the wolf no longer speaking. Vieno didn't mind, she felt she had more in common with a filly than a wolf, no offence to the canine. Horo seemed like a wonderful companion, especially the loyalty she showed to a horse. The land definitely had its surprises and the mare loved finding new ones as the days went by.

Noticing the filly's excitement, Vieno pricked her ears forward, looking to wherever it was that Sienna wanted to go. Smiling, the palomino mare nodded her head, "Alright, you lead, I'll follow!" She then shook her head, getting some of her flaxen colored mane out of her eyes as she tried to look to where the filly wanted to go. Well, it didn't matter, wasn't that what adventure was all about?

Deciding she'd play follow the leader, Vieno urged the mare on, tail swishing slowly behind her in excitement. Her brown eyes sparkled as she thought about what the two would find, she was like a little filly herself. Always ready for a new adventure, was she.

Sienna, for one of the rare times in her life, beamed quite proudly and happily at Vieno. Her usual voiceless self always made her a bit insecure and even if she did want to speak... well, it either happened when she didn't think about it or when she really just had to say something. It was kind of strange... not being able to use her voice consciously. Putting the thought to the side of her mind, Sienna walked alongside the mare, rather grateful to have someone to be close to and communicate with. The filly was glad that someone else besides her family and Horo could finally understand what she tried to convey in her strange silence.

A brown and white tipped tail swished quietly behind as the wolf followed contently. Horo would have liked to speak up but... for once, this was Sienna's time to shine, not hers. With a small smile, touched with a strange bit of sadness, the she wolf made sure to keep an eye out on Sei.

Silence. Not the awkward sort of silence that made you try to change the subject, no just the warm kind you shared when there was nothing to be said. Vieno didn't mind silence, although she might have preferred some light conversation, she respected the other's wishes. It was strange though, because now even the wolf seemed silent when it had wanted to talk non-stop before. The thought made her smile inwardly and look back at the wolf, it was following behind them, still keeping an eye on the filly. The thought warmed Vieno's heart, how she would have loved to have something follow her around daily.

The happy beam on the mare's face as they walked kept Vieno's spirits high. She loved when others were pleased and enjoying the time they spent with her, heck she loved when they were pleased period. The mare lived for others and she didn't seem to mind anything when the animals around her were happy. If there was one thing the mare loved to see, it was a smile on the face of an animal or even a human. Everyone just seemed to emit a brighter light when they were smiling and this fact pleased the mare.

Okay, so maybe the world wasn't going to end if one of her acquaintances frowned but it certainly made her less happy. Her happiness came from the happiness of others... as awkward as that seemed...

The grey and striped filly did want to talk... but couldn't find her voice. How annoying it was today... to actually want to talk for once but not be able to. Sienna shrugged the idea off and continued on their silent little walk. They wouldn't have to wait too long anyway. They were almost there. Although... the added silence did bother her... Dark red eyes watched the mare as she looked back. Sienna's eyes followed along to spy Horo walking quietly behind them. Horo. Quiet of all things! The filly thought to herself, rather surprised and almost amused.

The she wolf's white tipped ears perked up as her eyes looked to spot the two girls stare at her in response to her silence. "What?" Horo finally spoke up. "Wolf got your tongue?" She asked with a playful grin.

Vieno was amused to find the other finding it quite odd the the wolf too didn't seem to have anything to talk about. When the filly looked back at the wolf, she let out a silent chuckle and followed the younger horse's gaze to the wolf. Of course, when the wolf actually spoke she was amused even further and giggled accordingly, "I think we're just surprised the incredible Horo doesn't have a tale to tell!"

That said, Vieno looked down at her feet, the feathers dragging through the slush and making quite the mess of her hooves. She didn't mind all that much, except that the slush often made her feet heavier than she actually was and it often took more effort to go anywhere. With a flick of her tail, she sighed and looked back toward the filly, were they almost at their destination? At that moment she felt like a tiny filly herself... 'Are we there yet, Maw?' she heard in her head and grinned slightly.

"Did you have any stories to tell us, Horo?" the mare questioned, not wanting the wolf to feel left out. If the wolf had something to talk about, by all means, Vieno wanted to hear!

Sienna couldn't help but let out a quiet, wispy chuckle in the mare's presence. Vieno was such a fun character to be with and the filly really enjoyed the other's company greatly. And, she got along pretty well with Horo it seemed, which the filly also appreciated. The she wolf needed to stop pestering her all the time and enjoy life a little more. Sienna looked at the wolf quietly for a moment, wondering what life she must have lived before meeting her mother. By the looks of it, Horo lived pretty fulfilling life... but no matter how much she seemed to enjoy things, Sienna couldn't help but feel that some of the happiness reflected off the wolf was nothing more then an act. Of course, she wouldn't say anything, even if she could. That was the wolf's business and not her own.

"Ore, ore... Stories ehhh...? Well, of course the great wolf Horo the Wise has stories. Many stories indeed!" The she wolf smiled in reply. "But what story... hmmmm... what story is good?" Oh, how she loved to tease an audience. "Would you like to hear a story about where I lived before I came here?" Horo could not help but start off with a short story about her origins. She took great pride in the duties that she once possessed... even though the humans no longer saw her in such a light.

Looking toward the filly, Vieno clucked her tongue, shaking her head playfully as she walked on. "I think I could have started something bad!" the mare whispered to the filly as she looked back at Horo, eyes sparkling with laughter and amusement. She flicked her tail playfully at the wolf and continued to watch her as she walked forward. Amazingly enough, she didn't run into anything, but that could have been because there wasn't anything to run into or trip over. "I'd love to hear, Horo the Wise!" Vieno giggled, making sure to add the wolf's own title she added to her name.

When others discussed their own homes, Vieno often became distant and guarded, but at that time she was having so much fun teasing the wolf she barely noticed. After it kicked in, she stiffened for only a moment and shrugged it off, not wanting something like that to ruin the good mood. Instead of letting the emotion take over, Vieno slowed, letting herself fall in step with the wolf.

"So, were you the leader of a great pack that took down many a buffalo? Or maybe you were a house pet to an indian!" Vieno was teasing of course, but not in a mean or unplayful way. "I've got it! You were the alpha wolf of a pack of horses!" the mare giggled and leaned down slightly to look at the wolf, "C'mon.. we're just dying to hear it!" That said, she trotted back up to the filly, letting the wolf tell her story in peace.

Sienna smiled as the older mare whispered into her ear. She looked at the wolf rather curiously for once. Despite having lived together for some time, she never heard the wolf speak of anything related to her past. Her mother never mentioned it either so she simply assumed that she didn't know much about it either. Grey ears perked forward a bit as the wolf looked off into the distance briefly with rather blank eyes. Another rare sight for Sienna... But the briefness of that blank stare disappeared quickly as a familiar cheeky grin returned to the wolf's face.

"No way was I ever a pet!" Horo snerked at the mere thought of a human controlling her. "I used to live with humans though. Never as a pet. In fact, the village I once watched over considered me a deity of sorts. I watched over their crops, they payed tribute to me! Simple concept really~" The she wolf was proud creature and held great wisdom of the going ons in the human world because she'd stayed with them for so long.

The silent filly was rather impressed by the fact that Horo, of all things, could be considered a deity. She certainly didn't look the part and the she wolf had no proof... still... Sienna caught the scent of sadness that drifted from the wolf behind that cheeky smile... If she were a former "god" of sorts... what was she doing with soquili now?

"Aww, being a pet isn't so bad!" Vieno defended, although she wasn't going to elaborate on that comment. No, she didn't know what it was like to be a pet really, but she didn't imagine being cared for and loved by a human could be all that bad. Then again, in Vieno's mind, being cared for or loved by anyone was a pleasant experience. Everyone had their own opinion, that was one of the things that made each and every being different and the mare respected that so she decided not to say anymore on that.

The mare certainly wasn't one to think or call another a liar, so of course she believed every word that came out of the wolf's maw. Of course, Vieno wondered why she'd leave if she was thought so highly of. Not that it was any of her business, she was still curious. The mare could relate a little bit, for if she'd been in a position like that she would have felt quite strange. Vieno wasn't the type of Soquili that thought she was better than somebody else, no... she often called herself average or even below average. Horo seemed like a confident wolf though, so the situation couldn't have been similar, could it have?

"You seem to be a very important creature, Horo, it's definitely nice to be respected," Vieno nodded, unsure if the wolf was going to continue or end her story there. She didn't want to poke or pry so she left it at that, for if the wolf wanted to talk... she certainly would.

(( I'm so sorry I took so long to reply. ;; I'll try not to ever do it again! ))

((I should say the same XD Darn college))

White tipped ears twitched at Vieno’s first comment. Hooooo? It seems like the mare has some experiences with humans, Horo thought to herself but didn’t delve into the matter. One’s self belonged to themselves when they choose. That was the nature of things. “No. Being a pet certainly isn’t a bad thing,” the she wolf replied with a strangely calm but sad look on her face. “But… humans tend to easily forget…” Horo continued walking but she was much more dazed. Yes… humans think they can throw away their bonds so easily by forgetting.

“Ho.. ro?” A meek and somewhat raspy voice escaped from the mouth of the gray filly.

The she wolf halted in sudden surprise and turned her head sharply around to stare at Sienna. “You! You said my name didn’t you!? Speak!”

Dark red eyes stared at the wolf for a long time before averting themselves. Oh no! I used my voice so carelessly! Sienna silently freaked out to herself. That was stupid of you Sienna! As the wolf clamored and fretted over the filly, Sienna carefully moved herself to be somewhat closer to the older mare. With ears flattened on her head, she looked at Vieno with a sheepish face that had ‘please help me!’ written all over.

So, in Vieno's mind it seemed as if the wolf had once been worshipped and then quickly left behind. She could feel for the wolf but she'd never been in a situation like that, sympathy was all Vieno could offer. It seemed everybody had different pasts and not all of them were picture perfect and wonderful. She too had a past but she didn't like to think about it.

Two ears pricked as she heard the sound of the filly's voice, she smiled at that, knowing that despite their differences the wolf and filly cared for each other. Of course, she wasn't exactly prepared for what happened next...

Hearing Horo demand that she speak made Vieno stare, wide-eyed, it wasn't right to demand for things... they had to occur naturally. Then, seeing Sienna's plead for help made the mare feel even worse about the entire situation. So, finding her voice quickly the mare spoke softly, "Horo... Horo... don't force it... I think she needs gentle encouragement and not er... force. When she's ready to speak we can help her but until then... let's leave her be," she nodded matter of factly. Of course, now she felt bad, as if she'd intruded or something... "I'm sorry if you know... that was out of line or place..."
