Delilah's face lit up when he didn't just gve a generic answer. "You've seen lilies around here?" She rose her brows, fully intrigued, "I've only happened upon one once..." She commented, a smile on her face as she turned her gaze away to look around for sprouting flowers. So he liked lilies and poppies... Mm. If only if she knew where to look for them. Maybe they'd get him to talk more?

When the question was turned to her, she thought about it for a moment before looking back to him with a light smile, "I like morning glories. But you can only see them bloom in the early morning. Have you ever seen them before? They're really pretty... It's unfortunate they die by noon." Her voice trailed a bit, though her tone was thoughtful. She often made trips to a patch of morning glories when she could to watch them bloom. She felt like she needed to; they deserved to be watched and loved.

She had already begun to feel more comfrtable with Everhart, which did not make the mare's smile fade. It was nice to tlak to someone without stuttering too much.

Everhart nodded slightly and thought about the time he discovered the hidden lake with every flower imaginable growing around it. "Yes, they're absolutely beautiful." He was about to add, 'just like you,' to the end of his sentence but he still wasn't that comfortable around her. He was just there a few days ago. They might still be there. "Would you like to go where to where I found them?" He asked her curiously hoping that she would say yes.

"Morning glories are pretty. I've only gotten the chance to see one." Everhart thought about the nature he's experienced during his alone time. But now, with Delilah, he wished that he had tried harder to get along with people. Socializing really was more interesting then being alone.

He paused to see if she wanted to go to that lake he had seen the lilies around. "It's in the other direction, if you want to go of course." He was so unsure of himself and so ready for her to reject him.

In the distance where the two soquili wouldn't be able to see him, Keiran had spotted the two wandering around the forest. Spitting into the dirt, the kalona was disgusted by the two, especially Everhart. What kind of stallion was that? He was shy and distant and that was despicable. He had begun following them only because he was bored and he wanted to cause some trouble. But these two were just ridiculous. Raising a brow, he heard Everhart mention a lake and Keiran's thoughts began to plot. He continued to follow them knowing that the stallion would be no problem to break...

When he mentioned going to see them, it was almost like an honor to the mare. Of course, it was probably silly to react how she would, but she was very passionate about flowers. Her face lit up and she nodded quickly, giggling softly, "Yes! Yes I would like to see where you found them." Delilah was quick to avert her gaze at her foolish nature, but she didn't feel that silly acting so... At least, not with him. But she should keep herself in check. She didn't want to scare him off.

"Only seen one? Mmm... S-sometime, if you'd like of course," she paused to glance at him with a shy smile, "We could go see them. It'd be in the early, early morning though. Would you be up to it?" Her translucent wings fluttered a little as she asked, excited at the possibilty of sharing the moment with someone. Kazuko, her brother, never seemed too into the idea, and Olivia was well... Olivia. She paused as well, waiting for him to lead the way.

Though... It almost felt like something was a little of in the air. She took a quick glance behind herself and saw nothing.

She seemed happy and that made Everhart happy. All he ever wanted in his life was to make others happy. Though, he always had a hard time achieving that since his social skills definitely weren't up to par. "Sure. Let's go." The stallion smiled once more and his smiles didn't seem so awkward and forced anymore. They were actually becoming natural for him. He began walking knowing that they wouldn't get lost or anything. He would never forget this place. It was so beautiful and he was lucky to have found it in the springtime. All the flowers were blooming and the water was so clear.

Everhart nodded as he walked. "Yea, I've only been lucky to have seen one. And of course. I would be honored to go find one with you." He smiled at her once more and continued walking.

Keiran noticed her glance back but she didn't seem to have noticed him. The stallion followed them from a distance keeping his body blended with the darkness from the trees. He would just have to wait until they got to the lake... This was going to be fun. Scaring away the stallion would be easy and maybe he would ... play with the mare a little. Smirking to himself, Keiran continued to follow them. The predator hunted his prey.

(HAHA. Found the rp finally. x3x It's a good thing you log your rps, Chickie! xD -SHOT- )

It was very comforting to see his smiles coming more naturally. She couldn't help but smile as well, but turned her gaze downward as she did so. It was so silly, to grin when she saw him become more comfortable with it. Lifting her head, she saw he had begun walking and was quick to follow suit, falling in step with the larger stallion. But there was this feeling... Delilah's ears flickered behind her, straining to hear for faint hoofsteps. Nothing. She kept from glancing behind her, afraid of looking wary.

It was probably a rabbit or something small. Why would anything follow them?

She tried to shake off the feeling by turning her attention back to him, nodding eagerly to what he said. Her wings fluttered a little as she smiled his way, "H-honored? Wow, but I'm grateful." She said truthfully, turning her shy gaze back to the path ahead.

((Whoo. biggrin Knew that would come in handy. xD ))

Everhart was beginning to feel a tad uneasy too. It seemed as though... all of the animals were gone and it was just them. But they wouldn't leave just because of them... He tried to shake off the feeling praying that it was nothing and that it was just him. He wasn't very good at reading others and couldn't even tell that Delilah was feeling a little uneasy too.

He returned his attention to her and nodded happily. Everhart continued to walk until they came upon the lake. It was beautiful. Everything was basically perfect and there were flowers blooming all around the edge of the lake. Every type of flower imaginable was here. The stallion stopped and closed his eyes letting the beauty wash over him.

Keiran continued to follow them. He knew they wouldn't be able to notice him. He was too good at following others and his ability to blend in with the darkness around him was uncanny. Pausing, he waited underneath a tree and waited until they stopped near the lake. His voice carried out from the darkness and he kept himself in the darkness where they probably wouldn't be able to see him. "Hello, having fun on your walk?" Menace was thick in his tone of voice and he definitely wanted to do more then scare them.

Delilah never considered herself to be a good actor. She had a tendency of wearing her feeling flat out on her face... But she tried. Just like she tried now to be comfortable and at ease when there was something odd about. So when they happened upon the lake, the Flutter was reluctant to respond. Her eyes drank in the flowers... There was such a variety! She spotted daisies and lilacs... And there were irises! She snuck a glance at Everhart, who had his eyes closed. For that moment, it pure ease settled into the mare.

Maybe there was nothing wro--

A chill ran up her spine as the intruding voice interfered with the serenity of the lake. Delilah snapped her head in the direction of it, eyes frantic to find the source. But... She couldn't see anything. "E-E-Everhart," she stuttered quietly, her tone almost a pitch higher. She said his name without thinking, unsure of what to do or say.

Everhart felt so at ease around here. The lake was too beautiful to resist and he forgot about the thing that was probably following them. The smell filled his nostrils and he was enjoying himself so much. And Delilah was here next to him. Never would he have guessed that he would bring somebody else to his secret haven. There was just something about her... Something that made him feel so good. What was this feeling? But then, the peace was broken by the eerie voice. His eyes snapped open and he looked around for the source. What the hell? Everhart was the last person who could defend himself. This was a horrible situation now especially because Delilah was here. Instinctively, Everhart looked to where the voice came from and stepped in between the voice and Delilah. He even tried to put up a protective stance but he hesitated and that just gave him away.

Keiran's laugh echoed through the clearing and bounced off of the trees amplifying his voice. "Don't be so scared little one." Grinning happily, Keiran loved tormenting other soquili so much. Especially soquili like Everhart, he wouldn't be surprised if the other stallion fainted in his tracks. When he saw Everhart stand between him and Delilah, Keiran only laughed harder. He was putting up a fight? This was turning out much better then he expected.

The stallion moved towards the two but kept to the darkness so that they wouldn't see him creeping up behind them. And then once he was positioned next to them, Keiran swooped out of the darkness and shoved Everhart aside and kneeled down so that he was eye-to-eye with Delilah. A huge, evil grin appeared on his face. "Hello there." His voice was smooth and seductive with that familiar hint of menace.

Delilah shrunk as the laughter echoed off the trees. Her ears flattened against her skull even more, and as much as she wanted to shrink to the size of a butterfly, she couldn't. It would be just so cowardly to leave Everhart with whatever was lurking in the shadows! Brown eyes flickered from every dark shadow she could see, trying to find the beast.

But it came out on it's own, and it just happened so fast! There was a flash of something and Everhart had been shoved aside, and her voice caught in her throat when she tried to call out his name. The gaze that held hers was hard to tear from - all she could do was bite down hard onto her lower lip, and shke. She knew her eyes were probably wide with fear, but she couldn't close them. She didn't need to look away from the stallion's eyes to know he was a Kalona.

She knew a Kalona as a filly. Lorelei was her name, and though of such tormented blood she never held an air of menace. But this stallion did... And though his voice had a rather disturbing appeal to it, she couldn't trust it.

"P-p-lease j-just go away," she whispered, her brows knitting together.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 03, 2008 10:44 pm

Pushed aside, Everhart stumbled away from Delilah. The stallion whipped around and his eyes went wide as he saw the kalona staring at Delilah. His heart stopped as his mind raced through his possibilities. What was he supposed to do in this situation? Delilah was so kind to him. He couldn't just leave her.

As he watched her, Keiran frowns playfully at her plea. "Go away? I couldn't possibly do that, now, can I?" Oh how he loved tormenting others and especially those that really couldn't defend themselves. Keiran nudged her slightly, "Aw, loosen up. Have a little fun?" Winking at her, Keiran even forgot about Everhart behind him.

He needed to stop thinking. This was ridiculous. There was no reason for him to doubt himself. Everhart's brows furrowed and came rushing at Keiran from the side ramming his body into the kalona.

( -Hands Chickie an "you can freely kick my a** for taking so long" ticket- >3>)

Without Everhart at her side, Delilah felt incredibly vulnerable. Her leg muscles spasmed as she attempted to take a step or two back to put distance between herself and the sharp teeth, scary demeanor, and dangerous voice before her. Alas however, her hooves stayed rooted to the ground. At his frown, she could easily tell he was toying with her. He wasn't the regular vicious Kalona.. He was a manipulative one who played with his food. He had already knocked aside Everhart so easily... Concern for his safety overwhelmed hers as she attempted to look away and find him, but she couldn't tear her eyes from the danger right infront of her.

The physical contact didn't help either. The nudge sent a severe chill down her spine, and that with the ever present feeling of confusion and fear brught hot, prickling tears to her eyes. She took a sharp intake of breath, trying to retort, but nothing came. She didn't know what to say --

"Everhart!" The name escaped her mouth in a gasp as he rammed the monster. Free from his touch and scary stare, she was quick to back up. Delilah's heart beat fast and her legs felt tense from locking up, but now that she saw that her newfound friend was engaged in a fight with the Kalona...

Her overwhelming concern was heightened, but what could she do? Shaking, the delicate flutter continued to take steps back, hoping to find refuge in the shadows. She couldn't leave Everhart though...

((-snugs- It's really alright. <3))

Keiran was incredibly surprised when he felt the unicorn's body slam into his side. He was pissed now and the kalona snarled at Everhart. "That was a severe mistake." Spreading his wings, the kalona retaliated and slashed his wings into Everhart's side. His toys did not fight back and Keiran always made sure of that.

Even Everhart was surprised that he had fought back. He had always lived his life in complacency and had no interest in stirring things up. There was a spare moment in time and he used this chance to call out to her, "Delilah! Get out of here!" His desperate voice urged her to leave while she could.

Everything was working against him right now. He had no experience in fighting and Keiran did. After calling out to Delilah, Everhart felt Keiran's wings dig into his side. Wincing in pain, Everhart felt his blood drip onto the floor. His first reaction was to run but he couldn't let this monster touch Delilah. It was time... to let go. He felt a surge of adrenaline rush through his body and the stallion kicked out and felt his hooves connect with Keiran's body. If... Delilah hadn't been there, Everhart knew that he wouldn't have had the strength to fight back.

Keiran couldn't believe what was going on. How could he lose to this stallion? There had to be some other factor to this. The kalona was pushed back when Everhart kicked out at him. The kalona's eyes narrowed and he glared at the two. He seemed to have underestimated these too. Snarling one last time, Keiran disappears into the forest.

Why would he call out to her? The sound of his desperate voice brought stinging tears to her eyes. He shouldn't even acknowledge a coward like herself, falling back into the dark. Her ears picked up on the sound of skin tearing and she forced her eyes shut, her ears pressing against her head as she attempted to erase the horrible sound from her memory. "Everhart..." She whimpered, the scent of blood penetrating the air and she grimaced at the scent.

As she took one more step back, she opened her eyes to see the kind stallion she had befriended kick the Kalona hard. Where did... Where did that ferocity come from?! She quickly turned her attention to the Kalona that was... falling back? A surge of happiness spread through her tiny system, and she felt a smile pull at her dark lips.

In an instant she was at Everhart's side, her delicate wings fluttering - not enough to lift her, but enough to exert her relief and joy. Without thinking she nudged her nose against his, her stinging eyes allowing a single tear to drop from her chocolate eyes. "Y-you're okay!" Her voice shook as she said this more than asked. Today she had been hit so quickly with so many emotions that she couldn't help but show off her relief that Everhart was okay.

Breathing heavily, Everhart didn't know what he had done to get the kalona to leave. Fighting back? That kalona definitely wasn't expecting that. Blood was dripping down his side but he couldn't really feel the pain right now. All he could think about was Delilah. She was alright...

And when he felt her nose nudge his, Everhart looked up in surprise. "Are you okay, Delilah?" He wasn't worried about himself at all and he just had wanted her to get away from this. There were... so many things that he didn't understand right now. How had he found the strength to kick that kalona? Was it because... of Delilah?

The stallion nuzzled the flutter gently letting himself emit a sigh of relief. Thank god.

This relief was like a drug. It elated her so much, and it felt like it would last. With this elation she found nothing wrong with their nuzzling eachother and being so close - he was nearly killed, after all! And he was so insistent on keeping her safe. But like most drugs, the buzz would wear off. Specifically when he inquired after her own safety. The breath of his voice was so close, and they were so close, and...

That's what got Delilah to fret a little. Was this normal? To be so close to another and be so worried over their well-being, even if they had only met hours before? He was such a kind soul, and so unconcerned with his own health! She picked up on his sigh of relief, and with that let one slip by herself as well. The feeling seemed mutual enough... Even though it was just, just so different and weird!

"I-I'm fine!" She stuttered, reluctantly pulling away from the Unicorn. Embarressed, she tried to turn her eyes to the ground, but instead saw the blood dripping down his side. She inhaled sharply, and her brows knit together in concern. "You're hurt..." She whispered. He had been harmed... She could've stopped it had she distracted that Kalona better, couldn't she? But more importantly, why was he ignoring his wound?
