In regards to the presidential qualifications in the constitution, Icee is right in saying that at some point during America's history only males were allowed to run for office. However, this was changed in 1920, when the 19th amendment gave women the right to vote. Hillary Clinton isn't the first woman to serve office in the government, but she's certainly the first to go for the presidency. The rule wasn't changed JUST for the Clintons.

Georgia's textbooks need to be updated. When Hiliary decided to run I figured they just secretly challenged that law and moved on quickly. Of course it's unconstitutional but that law alone stopped many people from thinking about running.
@DaBonster: Are you sure you're not talking about Vice President candidates? There has been a woman or two who ran for that office.

Actually, DaBonster is right. Hilary Clinton is not the first woman in America to run for president. There was one other...I've forgotten her name, but she ran for president before women were even allowed to vote. President, not Vice President. I'm not sure about the other one he was talking about.
Needless to say, they didn't win.
Which is probably why people forgot them.

About Obama:
No, it wasn't anything about the Pledge of Allegience. It was the National Anthem. Obama didn't salute, place hand over heart, or stand at attention. Just sort of stood there, while the others around him (including Hilary Clinton) were saluting/hand-over-heart/etc. At least he was standing, I'll give it that.

I stand quite corrected. I seriously think GA needs better textbooks

How many times did that happen?
