The purple lioness listened carefully to the red male's words, taking them in with all consideration. Maybe he wasn't as bad as she had made him out to be. He had taken a female child under his wing, and he had been raised by his mother. It was like females were everywhere in his life, and that made him a rather good lion, respecting them and their space, as well as their authority. That, Aziza heavily admired.
"I see... Well, at least you make SOME sense now." Taking some initiative, she actually sat down with him, keeping her pink eyes on him at all times. She refused to let him take some sort of command over her, so she was like a hawk, watching his every single move. "Thank you though. Your words are the most kind I've ever heard from a male's mouth."

That brought a smile to his face, and he canted head to watch her better, green eyes gleaming softly in silent pleasure that she was now in a more pleasant mood. "Ah, well you are most welcome. I daresay...have you had trouble with males in the past?" It sounded as though she had, and that experience couldn't have been a nice one.
Ayo'obi had never followed the train of thought that some males possessed, they thinking to impress the ladies with their audacity and brash, foolish actions. It seemed idiocy to him...as it had seemed to his mother as well. She had mated with a calmer, friendly lion who had been utterly devoted to her...though where he was now, neither Ayo or his mother knew.

"Problems with males? Well... You could say that, I suppose." She thought for a second, wondering if she should tell him about the pride she lived in. She knew he wouldn't like the idea, but that was beside the point. It was where she had been born and raised, and she was more than proud of it.
"I live in a female dominant pride. Females are the ones with the high ranks and are looked upon as being the best. Males, on the other hand, are all in one rank, except for the very occasional few here and there. They are seen to be pigs, pests, filth, and utter annoyances, no offense or anything. That's just the way things are. They are our cubsitters, watching over the litters we give birth to. A male is lucky if he finds a female that wants to make him her mate. Otherwise, he mates with her and simply goes back to his cubsitting duties, eventually taking on any male cubs she has when they grow older."
She wasn't sure how he'd take that kind of answer. It was way different than what he probably expected, and Aziza knew that there was no way in hell that he'd want to join such a pride, even if she asked him to and become her own mate. "It's different... Yes.. But it's our way of life. I know no other way."

Ayo listened in utter silence, taking in her words carefully, mulling them over in his mind. Yes...it was different, but at the same time, it was just a reverse of the norm, that didn't necessarily make it bad. Not anything he'd want for himself, but...
"So what you're saying is, your pride does things that are simply a complete and total reversal of what generally happens out here." He didn't seem angry with the idea, though thrilled wouldn't have been the best word to describe him either.
"I am not one to demean your customs or way of life, after all...it is your life to live, isn't it? And whichever way you choose to make the most of it is up to you, Miss Aziza." And slowly, he smiled, looking up at her with a calm, understanding sort of expression. "Would you not agree?" Especially now that he knew what she was used to, he would try to defer to her...it wasn't hurting him, after all.

"Opposite way? Well, I suppose... Except we're much more harsh on our males then other prides are with their females. At least females of other prides can have various ranks. In our pride, males have only one rank. That's it. Unless they're EXTREMELY special or something."
Now that she thought about it, he had a point. Her pride was practically the opposite of all other prides out there, except that males were treated lower than the dirt itself. Still, it was the way life was over there, and that was how she liked it.
"Still, don't expect me to treat you any different from how I treat the males back home!" She growled at him fiercely, letting him know that she was boss, even if she wasn't at home. "Still... You are different and a lot more respectable than many other males I'm used to..... So, I may ease up on you.. Just a little bit though."

He bobbed his head in acknowledgement. "Well...there are many prides out there, after all...and each has its own traditions and way of life...it doesn't make it bad. I suppose there's probably a pride somewhere out there where there is really no true rank at all...though that would be most confusing to my mind."
His ears swiveled, as though listening to the world around him...pondering his options for a moment. "Well...care to ease up on me and go for a bit of a walk? Perhaps you can tell me more about this pride of yours, honestly, I find the differences in lions and prides utterly fascinating...and you seem quite the leader, Miss Aziza." That, and it would give him a chance to become better acquainted with this lovely lioness...

Perhaps... Perhaps Aziza underestimated this male. He was such a charming beast... Like a gentle giant. For the first time she had been away from home, the purple lioness smiled, her face growing soft and full of genuine happiness. In Aziza's case, that was extremely rare.
"Yes... I would love to." She pawed her way over to the male, her face only growing more soft. Why did she like him? She couldn't say. It just.. Came to her. He was unlike any male in the pride, and that just made her want to get to know him even more so. He was unique and kind-hearted. He was different. He was Ayo.

Slowly, he rose to his feet, and with a nod that was nearly half a bow in the respectfulness of it, he smiled back at her. "Then a walk it is..." Meeting her eyes, and waiting for her to take the lead before setting off. She might not know where she was going, but that wasn't the point of this little exercise, not really.
Aziza was a fine lioness, and Ayo somehow felt like his life was enriched by the meeting of her, one of those experiences in time that one never forgets about.
