warhammer is a strategy fantasy model game that involves armies battling, but we would be using the story and races other then large armies most likely, 4ok is the same but sci-fi.

Oh, I like Timpey's idea!
I love Dot Hack!
Maybe you should start to put up a character sticky...
So people can start to create and can go in and edit later on the finer details.

How about one where it first starts out in an ordinary human realm, then some how there’s a rip into another dimension and all sorts of different creatures invade the realm, which from there you can have all sorts of things happed like a war, or trying to find a way to fix the rip or something, if that makes sense. sweatdrop

I sorta have an Idea to add to the Game like RP, that so people don't god mod we allocate a basic level, and monsters actually have exp so if characters think that they're god like when they're level 1 and they go up against a lvl 40 monster theres only a slim chance (sheer luck and fluke) that they' wont get serious injured or "knocked out"

Like adding a bit of D7D touch to it with a certain amount of health and stats and attributes that you excel and some what fail at, so therefore working as a team with different abilities is the goal...

Just a build up on the Dot.Hack game style idea.

But how would we know what level they were...?
I was gonna say roll a 100-sided die, but you can do that in guilds, sadly.

yes you can
I was more thinking of making the mods of the guild just as active by making the guild mule acting as monsters.
Having like a thread dedicated to the monsters and their levels, and by a roll of the dice when the guild mule posts determining the monster is or the mule chosing a monster and rolling/random number for its level as you said.
of course making sure that in lower level areas you dont get lvl 99 monsters appearing by lowing the highest number which can be generated.

now raise your hand if LekLek has confused you

Fira the Phoenix idea is interesting and could work with the game / dot hack idea as the realm could be the game world or something, but all great ideas.

I think if the level system was to be add it would be very complicated to make sure people under stand how it works,(people found the job and race system hard to understand before) but something like this could be used like have one location being full of low level monsters that can be killed in one shot and so on. From the posting and the more training you do it can be thought of as you being a higher level, but i think again this may not work as the characters with higher levels could end up god mod other lower characters.

Wow im amazed I didn't get kicked out of this guild. sweatdrop

At any rate if im still a member I might as well give my opinion. I was once in a .hack guild with a skill/experience system in place and it was very hard to understand. It was to hard to keep track of and for the mods to update everyones stats took a very long time. They displayed stats of any given character except the moderators themselves were almost never right and if you trusted the players to update their own stats nobody kept honest about it.

I think a better way to make a .hack style guild would just to make it if you new to the guild your low level and the longer your here the stronger you are.

Well thats my take. And if anyone wishes to knock me out of the guild since I really never played a huge part in it ever then ill understand.

I have already tried to do somethign with Lv and all that Jazz and really, it's just comfusing and complicated for nothing. That part should just be droped.

However, I do like the idea of a dot.hack-like thingy.

But I also liked all the other stuff...
