"Tommis and Rylin...I guess I should introduce myself then. I'm Zeke and I hail from the desert." He decided to say the whole hail from the desert thing instead of the name of his parents. Then again he only knew his father's name...who really was his mother? Refocusing on the situation at hand, Zeke looked at Rylin evenly before gazing back to Ribbon. "Brothers?" With a quick glance between the two he nodded, "Guess I can see the resemblance."
"A journey?" His hands went out towards Ribbon, "Sounds interesting...I might be tempted to tag along as well." He looked to the obviously heavy pack that Ribbon was carrying, "You need help?" In a rare moment Zeke seemed to almost show some kindness...either that or he was just tired of seeing the pack cause Ribbon to almost fall again or just seeing how the supplies where on the verge of being lost might of been the reason as well. If the kind streak was there however Zeke would of went on next to ask Tommis why he was out here alone in the forest like he was.

Tommis' head tilted to one side, they had only one parent? Was Mikaila a father or a mother? After a moment he responded with an almost automatic "Nice to meet you" and a grin. His interest in the whole one-parent thing was whisked away though when Zeke spoke up. "The desert? Where!?" His little eyes shone with an eagerness to learn. Mother and father never mentioned a desert. They'd been in the woods - loads of times at that - and to the beach and the river and seen the mountains from afar, but nothing about a desert.

The desert.. how different. Rylin had never been there before and though he was burning with question's, he kept his mouth shut. Thankfully he wouldn't have to ask, seeing as Tommis got to it before him. Now all he had to do was wait for Zeke to answer the small taur.
"Your company would be greatly appreciated," he wasn't entirely sure if Ribbon would want him tagging along, but as his brother seemed happy to see him, he only guessed that he would be fine with it.
Rylin glanced over to Tommis. "Your's would be appreciated as well, if you so decided to join us." If Tommis was anything like he had been when he was a child, or like Ribbon for that matter, then being alone in the woods wasn't the best of ideas. A small fond grin crept upon his face.

" That'd be really nice! " Ribbon couldn't be any happier. He was practically bursting at the seams. If Zeke came, then they could have three times as much fun! Maybe even four, if Tommis came. " You should come, Zeke. You really should. " He shook his head furiously, sealing the deal in his mind.
The pack was a bit heavy but he wasn't about to let someone else carry it for him. It was his! He could do it his self. Ribbon shook his head and reached over to lay his palms ontop of Zeke's. " I don't need any help carrying it, but if you'd like to help eat some of it, that'd be mighty good. " He sought out Rylin first, grinning from ear to ear and then looked to Tommis. " I've got apples, squirrel, cakes, and carrots! It'll be really good. "

Zeke just blinked at Tommis. Was the kid really so excited about hearing that he came from the desert? Apparently so, the striped centaur couldn't help but to smirk. "The desert to the east beyond the mountains." He replied actually having some happy emotion in his voice, "But it's hard to reach and my home is hidden in it's vastness and behind the random illusions cast by the sand and immense heat and the huge sand dunes that make up a maze like pattern. It's really cool for such a hot place." He joked with a wink.
Looking back between the brothers, Zeke finally allowed his gaze to rest on Ribbon. Stubborn, isn't he? Thought Zeke silently as Ribbon declined his offer to carry his pack. "I guess..." He sighed dramatically and shook his head, "But give me an apple first to seal the deal on traveling with you two." Or maybe even three...but would the other centaur come? He was pretty young...but then again Zeke himself had sneaked off on his own adventures when he was that age.

"Oh..." During Zeke's description Tommis' eyes ranged from amazed to a bit frightened. The desert sounded like a dangerous but exciting place.
Rylin's invitation brought a smile to his face, but then reason took over. "Well... I really shouldn't... not without asking mother and father first," he added. Mother and father only expected him to be out until supper time, his first day-outing on his own! And what an exciting one it had been so far, he'd met three centaur's in the area... but then if they were all about to take on this long journey he might never see them again!

Rylin wasn't sure if he wanted to have to wait for the kid to go ask.. or for the four of them to stop by on their way out. He was actually wanting to get started as soon as possible, but he also wanted the youngster along.
"If you think it would make anything easier, we could stop by and ask on the way..?" He smiled warmly at the young taur.
Not being hungry, Rylin graciously declined the food. Instead he stared out at the rising sun and the light beginning to stream through the dewey leaves. ..How beautiful.

Ribbon eagerly turned behind him to dig through his over stuffed pack. A pair of carrots and a family of turnips tumbled out of the leather bag onto the ground. He didn't seem to notice. " Here you go! " A large red apple, a smaller, disfigured green apple and a yellow apple were all presented to Zeke. " You can have whichever one you want. I didn't know what kind you'd like but your more than happy to have them all! "
Since his brother didn't want anything, he didn't bother asking him. Instead, he turned his attentions to Tommis regarding what his brother said. " It'd be really nice if you came along with us. We could all be friends and do all kinds of things together! " He smiled brightly and tilted his hands to where the apples were between Zeke and Tommis. " You can have some too, if you want. Their really good. "

"Nice." Zeke commented taking both a red and yellow apple. He munched quietly on the yellow before switching to the red and taking a bite out of it. Apples were one of his favorite fruits...that is as long as they weren't green. That one cattaur that Lia knew, Naomi may love the sourness of green apples, but he sure didn't.
Silently Zeke looked at Tommis...'Asking his parents first?' The kid definitely was different from himself. 'A better son than me, I guess.' He smiled faintly at the thought. Of course he couldn't help being reckless after all the two who had raised him....were pretty much the same themselves.

"Which way is the desert?" Tommis asked with some concern. What if his house wasn't on the way? What if they decided to go on without him? And even worse... what if his parents said no!? Then Ribbon opened his bag o' foods and drew Tommis' attention.
He watched excitedly, he'd never seem so much food all at once and with the bags still bulging sides there had to be more. That's not to say his family was poor, he simply never saw the cupboards, only what was on his plate. At Ribbon's invitation Tommis reached down and picked up a turnip and bit into happily. "I'd really like that," he said with a mouth full of turnip in response to them all being friends and having adventures, thoughts of parents slowly drifting to the wayside.

As Rylin was looking amongst the tree's something, or someone rather, came into his field of vision. Damn! He had forgot about that.. Whipping his head around, Rylin faced the others, his face absent of color.
"I have to go. Please take care of Ribbon." With that said he took off towards the figure, turning back only once to let them know he'd catch up with them.
((Sorry about this. I'm in the process of moving and won't be on for a while. Keep going without me and I'll have Rylin jump back in at some point. crying ))

His heart swelled. What more happiness could be brought upon him? " Take as many as you'd like, I have plenty. " Ribbon would definately have to pick up more on the way with the gold that his mother had given him, just to make sure that they stayed this happy forever.
Then, the unthinkable struck. Ribbon's eyes bulged. " Rylin! Don't go! " Why was this happening?! He tried to scramble out of his bags but only ended up tangling himself up in the straps. Crying out his brother's name until his voice was hoarse, the little centaur just couldn't free himself. He gave up with his eyes still trained on the spot where his brother was last seen.
" Why do you always have to go? " The joy he'd felt moments before was swept away. What friends could replace the time he could be spending with his own flesh and blood?
{ Alright. ^^ I hope things go well for you, Tesla. Call me whenever you can. }

"The desert?" Zeke looked at Tommis and then pointed over towards the mountain range that could be barely seen in the distance. "It's past those mountains...but I have no idea which direction it is that Ribbon and Rylin intend to travel."
Raising an eyebrow Zeke calmly watched as Rylin went his own way. 'That was..." The centaur paused thinking, '...odd.' He ran a hand through his hair quickly and watched Rylin until he completly disappeared from sight. From four to three...he silently counted. Hopefully, the number of companions wouldn't go down any more than that.
But his attention returned to the white centaur as his sadness radiated plainly for all to see. Biting his lower lip, Zeke set to freeing Ribbon from the straps. "Ribbon!" He snapped finally tired of hearing the boy call out Rylin over and over. "He's gone and it won't be the last time you'll see him!" Feeling very irritated and concerned for the younger centaur at the same time made Zeke very snappy, "You're a man! Toughen up some!" He ordered pulling Ribbon to his hooves. "You are about to start a journey for something, right?" His eyes still narrowed softened some, "You have to be strong and not be crying your eyes out already before you even leave the area!"
Smirking the centaur bent down and whispered in Ribbon's ears, "Plus, Xylia wouldn't like to see you cry or for that matter even hear of such a thing...especially coming from me." He winked and stood back some, arms crossed.
