it's going to end at some point. it is bound to happen. if the creator dies or the writer or producer dies then the show will end in memory of that person in one final big show of the simpsons

it has been twenty years and they are probly just running out of material for new episodes, but they are still doing pretty good i reckon.. mrgreen

Um look there expaning in a huge rate with the movie and the ride at Universal's parks it maybe there still in the midway point of their forever success maybe they could expand even more because ppl will continue loving the simpsons for a very long time and i don't think its going to stop just yet.

I think Matt could choose somebody to take over from him when he retires. Someone he knows very well and could carry the simpsons character good.

25 years is a good milestone, so I see it ending there. Nothing will ever replace the earlier seasons, but they have a while left.
