"Well, we're all born with our jobs to start, they're not picked," he said with a smile, "But I'm still glad you're happy. Heh. At least you're not something strange like a psychiatrist or something."

Chaco rolled his eyes. Illesi really could be pathetic, sometimes. Turning to Mig he said, "When did you finally figure it out, anyway?" If she'd figured it out, it probably wouldn't be long until others did the same. That was good, and it also meant he might be meeting more of the Sin'aeis, soon enough.

'Clicked'. That was usually how it happened, yes. Or they would sit there pondering over it for hours. Or, there were even those who would come to their Binder every time they gained a new ability and simply throw suggestions out there. It was very rare one of those people gained their job. By youth they usually calmed down and took the time to figure it out, but it was still a bother.

"Well I'm never against seeing you either, darling!" said Illesi, his charm still on high.

Gods, that made Chaco gag. Why the hell did his partner have to be such an a*****e flirt, anyway? It was stupid. Why couldn't he have gotten someone, oh I don't know, SANE. Try to change the subject! "What have you been up to lately, anyway? It really has been a long time since we've seen each other."

Chaco nodded, "Well at least you're keeping busy. I've been... cleaning, mostly. Around the mansion. Despite the fact that I spend almost all of my time here, I haven't seen very many Sin'aeis lately. I'm either on an errand when they come, or cleaning some obscure room..."

"Instead of reviving more people, like you SHOULD be," muttered Illesi.

Oh not THIS again. "Attia alive, Illesi. What's the point in reviving them before we have more who know their jobs? I mean, honestly. It seems like we're getting nowhere fast."

"Well, maybe we would HAVE more finding out their jobs if you would REVIVE MORE, Ariadn you dumbass." He smiled at Mignon, "I apologize for my partner here, he's never operated with a full brain."

Illesi winced. That had been part of Chaco's argument, before. "Yeah, well if Ariadn wasn't so damn bad at picking protectors, maybe that wouldn't happen."

But it wasn't ENTIRELY Chaco's fault! How was HE supposed to know that the people would bring the child back after a year? Illesi thought he was SO smart, maybe HE should try doing the job for once. "You really don't get how hard it is for me to FIND decent people. At least back home parents had friends to take care of their children until they got off their feet. Here, we have to find completely unrelated people."

Pfft. If it was THAT difficult, why not raise them all in the mansion? Ariadn really didn't have a brain sometimes.

"...I'm sorry." said Chaco, to the first comment. He'd had no idea. His ability to sense danger only extended to the Sin'aeis themselves, not to their protectors.

Illesi nodded as well, "I, too, am sorry. It's not a nice thing when one loses a protector or parent."

"And yes, we COULD raise children here, however... The time involved in raising a child is immense, and with my mother's own children and trying to keep this house together, I wouldn't have the time to do so." And no one else in the house would help at all, except maybe Ryuu, and even then Chaco doubted that would be enough.

"I see," said Chaco, a sad smile on his face, "A year can feel like a day when you lose someone you care about." He'd gone through that a few times. Especially in the last few days in the old kingdom...

Illesi coughed, "In any case, my dear. You are right." Though I'm still more right than him he thought in the privacy of his own head, "And perhaps soon we WILL have more Sin'aeis knowing their jobs, so the idiot on the bed will be able to bind more. And then, maybe, find a way to get me out of these crystals."

Fat chance of that, thought Chaco.

A smirk came to Illesi's face, "Indeed it WOULD be more fun. In many ways. Many, MANY ways."

This, of course, caused Chaco to roll his eyes AGAIN. Attia damned flirting b*****d. "In any case, I do hope that soon I'll be able to bind more children. I just... want things to be more stable, first."

Fiore was a special case. Brains aren't meant to be broken like that.

With a nod, Chaco stood, "It was nice seeing you again, Mignon."

This, of course, was emphatically agreed with by Illesi, "Come by anytime! I'll be glad to see you!" he said, with a wink. Chaco took this moment to throw the pillowcase back over the crystals.
