"Live?" He asked, a little confused. "I guess I'm more of a wanderer. I don't really have a permanent home at the moment. It might be nice to find somewhere to settle down though." Just then he nose picked up the scent of something other than snow and cold air. It wasn't that strong, but he definitely sensed that they were getting close to the food.

No permanent home? Nova couldn't really imagine a life of wandering around, not being able to have a place to stay and settle. She felt sorry for Haru, but wondered if he was happy with this way he lived.
"Well, if you want a place to stay... for a bit... You can come visit me any time you like."
She blushed, having said such a personal thing. The Ulaya remained silent until they reached the berry patch, which wasn't a long time after she said that.
"Here we are. The berries are cold, but still good to eat."
To show it, Nova plucked a red berry off a bush and popped it into her mouth.

Smiling at the offer he received from his new friend, he thought about whether or not he would like settling down in one place. he supposed it would be alright as long as things didn't get boring.
Not needing anymore prompting than he was given, he started to eat the berries, quickly, but not sloppily. Between bites, he said, "That might be nice... coming to visit you that is. Do you live with a lot of other Ulaya?"

Swallowing another handful of berries, Nova smiled and nodded. "Yeah... a whole bunch. Though they aren't always around. Most of them are like me and don't like to confined inside all the time."
She quickly ran through the list of residents in the came, and sort of laughed to herself as she took another berry. "They're an interesting bunch. They have issues on way or another, but it's better company than most. They don't murder you in your sleep or anything."

Feeling a little full after so many berries, Haru sat down to begin cleaning his paws and mouth. "Yes, I'll have to visit some time." He looked at Nova and grinned. "I think I'd like it very much, actually."

Nova had finished eating, and cleaned her muzzle of the berry residue in the snow. She felt much better now. The sugar from the quick snack and Haru made her feel more energized.
She glanced at him, and then in a certian direction. Something came to her and she turned back to him.
"Actually, the cave isn't very far off. If you want, we can just stop by, rest a bit or something."
And it was in the middle of the day, where most of her cavemates would be out. At least the crazy ones.

"Alright!" He said enthusiastically, grinning. "Just lead the way!" He stood up and stood next to her, and noticed something on her fur. "Looks like you missed a spot..." He said, and then groomed her cheek.

Nova at first turned away from Haru's grooming, but thinking that was rude, let him. She blushed madly and turned away to hide it.
"Uh, thanks." She said. "It's this way."
She bounded off without another word. Nova was beginning to get attracted to the gentleman, even though she only met him today. She hoped that he sort of felt the same way though.

Haru bounded after the female, his heart feeling light. It was a nice feeling, to finally have a friend. She was actually easy to talk to, and nice besides that. He picked up some speed to catch up to her, and ran beside her, not knowing what to say.

Nova began to slow down a couple minutes later. She didn't want any big uproar when her cavemates found that she brought a friend home. Luckily, judging from the mass of pawprints outside the cave, most of the Ulaya weren't home. She peeked inside, and found that the only two Ulaya home was Arachne, who was vainly staring at her reflection in a puddle of water, and Chimmi, who was eagerly awaiting her mother's return.
"Looks like there won't be a big welcoming party for you Haru." Nova joked, and was tackled by the little kit when she saw her.

Smiling at the little one, he replied, "Oh that's alright. I think it's better that no one is here. It will give me time to get used to everyone if I'm introduced slowly." He realized that that sounded a bit forward and added, "I mean, if I'm ever invited back that is." He stepped a bit closer to the pair and asked, "Is this your little one?"

Nova gently set Chimmi down, ruffling her hair tuft a bit. "Of course you're always invited. There's no reason to turn you down, since you don't have a home and all! You're welcome to stop by whenever you like!"
She heard Arachne muttering in her corner about strangers and their weird habits, and just scoffed. "You don't need to mind her. She's just not very social. That's all."
Nova returned her glare, and picked up Chimmi. "Yup! Her name's Chimmi. Say hello to Haru Chimmi!"
She chuckled when the kit gave him an enormous grin and mewled a hello. "She's rather energetic like me. Not a lot like her father."
Realizing what she just said, she glanced down at the cave floor. "That was rude of me for bringing that up. I'm sorry."

Smiling fondly at Nova he said, "Oh? No that's fine. I mean, I figured the kit must have a father. Are you still... attached?"
He blushed a little asking so personal a question, but he felt it was almost necessary to ask this one.

"Um... No." Nova still didn't meet Haru's eyes, and continued to play with the kit. "It's not that he's abusive or anything. He's a nice fellow, but the last time we met was when Chimmi and the others were boxes."
She remembered that very well, and couldn't help wondering how her other kits were doing. And the father. She told herself that it wasn't the time to be thinking about that though, and looked up at Haru.
"You're not bothered by any of this are you?"
